Built to Last meta?
I really feel like Built to Last has potential to shift the meta a bit with this buff. This would be awesome because there needs to be new perks that we can see in games more often rather than just the same 7 perks on each side we always see.
Who else thinks Built to Last will be meta? Obviously it will only work with items but it can work great with medkits and toolboxes and probably won’t be that OP considering survivors have to waste time hiding in lockers to use the perk.

I'm hopeful. It's about time we got a new meta perk. But knowing the community it will probably be nerfed to not change the meta.
I feel like history is on repeat.

My first thought here was iron maiden

Medkits with good addons will be a pain to deal with for killers. I hope this doesn't force Franklin's into the meta.

Prove thyself+streetwise+Build to last x4 with Engineer toolbox+wire spool+scraps in SWF will be most miserable genrushing experience. get ready for them 20 second gens.

And speed debuff perks are useless... funny how that plays in
If anything I might run Franklin's Demise/ Corrupt/ Overwhelming Presence/ and either Coulrophobia or Thana or Iron Maiden
Franklin's Demise- to get items on the ground and to decay
Overwhelming Presence- to force the use of items to go faster
Corrupt- to get survivors closer to me
Coulrophobia- to make healing harder in my TR
Thana- to make gens take a little longer while Survivors are injured
Iron Maiden- to get those that do go into lockers one hit wonders

It's gonna be busted with this build: Built To Last, Streetwise, commodius toolbox + both charge add-ons. I use it already, and after this buff it's gonna be insane.

Built to last + inner strength + streetwise + toolbox will be pretty insane.

A purple med-kit with the green addon for extra charges is 3 heals at base. With built to last you get an extra 6 full heals (as long as you hit a some great skill checks). Basically triples the number of times you can heal from a med-kit.
Hit and Run tactics were already pretty bad, because med-kits could invalidate the time loss from healing. But I don't see who any killer could get a single survivor to waste 9 full heals without just losing the game.

Yeah it's a really good perk now. Sure it's mega powerful in some situations. But we need new perks like that.

I'm 100% going to use this on Gen Popping/Altruistic Builds.
Usually I feel scarce using my medkits but now I don't have to feel that anymore.

Too bad vigil makes exposed shorter lol

I don't think it would be meta. You still need to waste almost gen worth time to refill your toolbox several times.
But if it will be meta, killers will bring Iron Maden and Overwhelming presence more often.

Dead Hard (or preferred exhaustion), Borrowed, Decisive Strike are the only must have perks, at the moment. So... Sure? Or maybe the new boon totem might become meta. But there is plenty of room in that one slot, rofl.

Gens are already too fast, now survivors will have 3 toolboxes each...
Killers should just give up at this point, like AFK at a corner, DC or just have a break until the next update...

But, which toolbox? Brown one or Commodus one?

It will become meta the same way Lucky Break, Power Struggle, For The People, Breakout, Any Means Necessary, Counterforce, etc. etc. became meta. Lol.

The killer brings Franklin's:
Me: "Haha jokes on you, I got Self-Care" >:)

Nah new BTL is only worthwhile with purple, yellow and green+charge addons medkits, with anything else you either dont gain any significant time (toolboxes) or items rarely go out of charges (maps and keys). If you use new BTL with a toolbox unless its a commodious stacked with charge addons you are actually helping the Killer because it takes more time to refill them than said toolboxes shorten gen timers.
People are overreacting as always, Lucky Break, For the People, Soul Guard, Desperate Measures, Fast Track and Any Means Necessary were going to break the game and be so unbeliable broken that all Killer mains would be forced to quit the game or switch to Survivor because BHVR doesnt know anything yaddayaddayadda... in the end all those perks were pretty bad and not usable outside of memeing or extremely niche situations where you got to use them once every 20 games.
P.D. even with the medkits is not really that good, sure you can have a purple one with charge addons and with new BTL you can get up to ~6 heals but lets be honest, how many times people get to use a medkit that many times? in the end 6 charges on a medkit are only useful if the Killer smacks people and breaks chase on a continous basis, which isnt very common nor a great strategy.

I feel like it will be used loads after the patch but will be slowly moved out for the normal meta after a few weeks.
I don't believe it's OP but seeing it used with a really good medkit could be a bit too much.

The first thing I see is 4 surv with green toolboxes and speed repairing add-ons, +Built To Last and Prove Thyself, in team, gens will fly even faster than before.

I'm surprised by the Prove Thyself suggestions. Whenever I have a toolbox, I only use them when I'm solo on a gen. Otherwise, it kind of seems like a waste to have its efficiency killed when you're already getting a huge speed boost.

It will not be Meta and it will most likely not be useful. What many people seem to forget - you have to spend 12 seconds in a locker. And you dont teleport to a locker, you have to go to one locker, so even if you are on a Gen very close to a locker (lets say Shack), you will probably spend 2 seconds in and out, so 16 seconds in total.
Toolboxes are not really worth it at this point, you wont save as much time as you waste in the locker.
You can refill Medkits basically two times (1x99, 1x66+1x33). However, how often to people actually heal with Medkits in a Trial? Whenever I brought a purple Medkit with extra Charges and Speed (so 48 Charges aka 3 Heals), I did not use it completely.
It is unrealistic to think that Survivors will heal 5+ times during a Trial with Medkits.

Perhaps this could results in a shift of what typical perks killers will use. Should "Built to Last" become more popular to use, and combined with perks such as "Quick & Quiet", "Head-On" and "Inner Strength", then killers might start using "Iron Maiden" much more. Also, 2 killers in particular - Adiris and The Twins - may be used a bit more as both have the ability to plague or lock survivors in lockers for longer respectively.
So it could shake things up from both sides.

This. 😂

I think in many cases the time you invest is lowering the bonus you get. Like imagine of the best possible long lasting toolbox. The time you invest to fill up the item twice is more than you get back from the toolbox on gens. On medkits you get at least a bonus in regard of time efficiency, but the big buffs, when using a purple medkit with +16 charges, I don't know if this is kinda overkill and if you really get to heal that much in one match. With "normal" medkits like getting 2 heals, you get 4 additional heals at the cost of 36 extra seconds, meaning it is just slightly better than selfcare, even botany knowledge might be better in my opinion.
It can be "good" but not really meta on flashlights, when you go against wraith or hag or when you want to grind points on pallet blinds, but the "vs specific killer" part combines very rarely.
The only thing where I can imagine it being really strong is when you have the mega toolboxes and bring Inner Strength as well, and just refill your items when using the locker heal
yeah, if you build a complete loadout around items they better be good. don't forget the lack of exhaustion- and information perks beneath missing BT, DS and whatever you normally bring
some more situational info. how much time does this medkit combo save you when you heal others? I think it is like 4 seconds, meaning the 6 extra heals save you 24 seconds and you need 36 to refill. and in how many games do you need to heal yourself 9 times? normally I use medkits to heal myself twice, if I have "too many" good addons / items on a character I wanna prestige, I do triple heal medkits. That is in most cases totally enough to play a full game. So I think thinking about overkill scenarios does not really show any issues
