Deathslinger's Terror Radius change is misguided
Hey there, I wanted to make a thread just to express my thoughts about this particular change because it bothers me a bit
So Peanits said in his post that his TR has been raised to the standard 32m, breaking the mold of 110% killers having a smaller TR.
Why did they do this change?: Because Deathslinger players realised that shrinking his terror radius to 16M from 24M with Monitor and Abuse was a good idea and made sneaking up on survivors a cakewalk. Especially due to his unique TR music
However, I believe there is an oversight with this change: Deathslinger players will probably run monitor and abuse even more now to shrink his TR to 24M, as it is right now.
Why is this a problem?: Aside from limiting Deathslingers perk variety potential, using monitor to offset what is supposed to be a balance change makes no sense to me, personally. As many forum goers have pointed out, 32M is too large for slinger's power
Monitor and Abuse also isn't a problem on Huntress or Trickster because they have lullabies to offset it. I think a lullaby would be a much better and balanced idea for deathslinger. All you're going to see is M&A being a requirement and undetectable perks (Meaning Tinkerer) being used way more often on DS.

Giving Deathslinger a lullaby wouldn't fix the issue that he still has 18m max range.
But M&A gets overhated. It's only good in situations where Deathslinger lacks line of sight and outside of corn he can't shoot you without LoS.

I understand your POV but the reason they increased his TR is because of M&A. If they are going to do this change then a lullaby is fairer for both sides. As it stands, changing the TR like this favours survivor way more imo

I know why they changed his TR, but it's a misguided change at a perk combo that isn't really an issue in the first place.
M&A was far from his best perk and wasn't required to be run, but it might be now.

It is misguided but a Lullaby won't fix the issue either. Deathslinger is supposed to be stealtier than Huntress and Trickster to offset the fact that he has a hard capped maximum range while they don't. A better change to fix the TR smaller than Range thing would be to nerf his max range to 15m and change Iri Coin accordingly. It's not like most people are going for long range shots on Deathslinger anyway.

or just let the killer with that many checkboxes to go through just to get a health state + deep wounds pull the world's slowest non-aura scratched mirror myers attack on people, huntress gives less warning than a standard terror radius to her actual approach and can down someone in seconds with hardly a chance if they're on point and survivor doesn't instantly react and run where the followup isn't guaranteed
but then, i suppose along a similar vein, her instadown addon is actually quite usable, and also..... instant

Well, I do go for long range shots... It's pretty fun, ESPECIALLY when you run iri coin. Lowkey underrated add-on, it's borderline unfair if your pair it with stealth builds.

His TR needs no change at all. Their whole justification for changing him was for quickscope counterplay, which is unrelated to his TR. they're nerfing way too hard, just like they did with the Legion exploit.

I don't get why they don't just nerf monitor if monitor was the problem. Just give it a minimum it can decrease tr to, or make it percentage based.

I agree. I understand the reasoning for the increased TR, but it would be more fitting and consistent to give him a lullaby that extends beyond his TR.

The problem with a lullaby is that it makes undetectable perks unusable, further limiting slinger's options.

Why do you think Lullaby would be better than bigger TR?
You can't get rid of Lullaby.
I mean unless it is like Trickster Lullaby where it took several months to everyone notice it.

" All you're going to see is M&A being a requirement and undetectable perks (Meaning Tinkerer) being used way more often on DS."
Hm... I'm not sure how undetectable perks would help against Decisive Strike. Plus, how is that relevant?

this is a joke right? they meant DS as in Deathslinger. I know DS often mean decisive, but I felt it was pretty obvious here what they meant lol

Deathslinger is 1 word. Decisive Strike is 2. So it would be D, not DS. They obviously meant Decisive Strike.

Your forum name is spelled wrong, Richard doesn't have a 1 or a 4 in it and Nixon doesn't have a 1 or a 0 in it. There is also no underscore there

Why are you both yapping on about deerstalker

I mean all of deathslinger's changes are completely misguided. M&A was not unfair. The terror radius was not 0. It was 16. He is tall killer that is visible from a distance. Hearing his music meant he was right on top of you. Many generators spawn next to jungle gyms and pallets.

Yeah but that's not an abbreviation. It's supposed to be misspelled. Lmao.

I thought we were pointing out things that don't matter
If someone sees the abbreviation 'DS' in a thread about Deathslinger, pretty sure they'll know what it means because context

I'll just run distressing like a champ

DS is commonly used to refer to Decisive Strike. I've never seen someone say it to refer to Deathslinger. Usually people just say Slinger.

Well now you have!
