Survivor Option to BAN Killers.
Survivor Option to BAN Killers from your next game (but only 1)
Starcraft 2 you can ban maps, overwatch you can ban heros etc. etc. Not a new feature in games. And more variety is needed in this game.
Option to ban say pin-head because your last 20 games have been against a super unbalanced killer (i.e. not being able to do box while being smashed by chains) until you patch the game properly. I think thats alot more fun for people.
Because the current strategy is release a killer or survivor thats very OP and get everyone to purchase them then nerf them in future. I just think it would be alot more fun to have choice in this game. Maybe a player has had 15 spirits in a row. Give them an option to say no the next game.

First of all, no. Everyone would use it on either Nurse, Blight or Spirit and people who play them will have a super long queue time which isnt fair.
Second of all, Pinhead isn't OP. By most he's regarded as a C tier killer (although I'd argue B tier after learning him). If he needs anything it's some sort of small buff.
Finally, since when did Overwatch have a hero banning system?

When was last time they released OP killer? I must have missed that... Let's see newest killers:
Blight got good after a lot of QoL changes, but he wasn't that good on release.
Twins close enough, but tons of bugs made them worse than they should be and they need to played in really specific way to be good.
Trickster, yeah so OP, right?
Nemesis, Low B maybe, easy counter-play, brainless Zombies that gets stuck everywhere.
Pinhead, again little better Trickster case. High C at best. Low B if you get perks to abuse the Box.
You really don't want anything like that. We just don't have nearly enough good killers for this. Blight / Spirit / Nurse would have super long queues and this change is just 100% one sided for survivors.

If a banning system were to go live I would never be able to play Trickster again tbh since survivors are definitely not fans of facing him.
Also referring back to the first comment, when has Overwatch ever had a banning system? I would love to take Doomfist straight out of the game if possible lmao. But maybe you're thinking of something like LoL where they have a champion banning system but they have 157 different champions to play versus the 25 killers we have.

That would suck because you could be barred from playing the killer you want. Which wouldn't be fun for the killer. I have every killer unlocked, but I don't wanna play every single one.

There is anyone who doesn't like Trickster.
He is one of my favorite killers to play against. You can get really good chases with him unless you ######### up and get yourself in open, or bad map tho.

I will definetly ban blight on every match, hate when facing blights with ring and with the other speed addons, i prefer nurse tbh

So survivors can choose the map, 16 perks and 4 items, they can communicate everything going on in the match to each other, and they can choose what killers they want to go against? Only thing missing would be that they can choose if they want to win the next match or not, oh wait they can.

its not out of the question they implemented a ban system, they already removed hero stacking, and created role queue because they can't balance the games roster, its not out of the question they added hero banning to neuter effective strats without having to actually fix the game

I don't think this is something that we'd implement. People have purchased these characters either with actual money or with shards - game time, it wouldn't be fair to stop someone playing the killer they like playing.
The whole thing behind DbD from the early days is that you could be facing any killer in the trial, limiting that by banning certain killers feels pretty unfair to the players who've purchased and enjoy playing these characters.

Wasn't there also a system on release where blocking a player would make it so you don't match with them which had a similar effect people blocking people who play killers they don't like and probably killers blocking strong survivors so a system of blocking / banning has already been used and found to be unfair

Nothing official and it wasn't at release. There was a 3rd party programme that did this, which we did remove from our whitelist as people were blocking Nurse players for example.

A round robin system so you can't play agenced the same killer 3 times in a row would be nice? but aside from that no banning is a bad idea since spirt and nurse players just would never get a chance to play.

I don't know how SC bans work so I won't comment on them.
LOL bans, they have +120 characters, there's so much variety that a couple bans barely scratches the surface. It's still playable and fun with that.
Overwatch toyed with a ban system- random heroes were banned by the DEVS, not players. Even then people didn't like it so bans only affect OWL now (and maybe top 500? It's been a minute).
We have 24-25 Killers, only a third of whom (and that's optimistic) see regular gameplay at high tier gameplay. A ban would be terrible, especially if Survivors had the advantage seeing as how all Survivors are the same character with reskins/audio differences. Not to mention the fact that Survivors are the power role in this game- their actions dictate the speed of a match, their mistakes are more forgiveable than the Killer's and they have the use of comms and teamwork in a match which all but the best Killers can overcome. A ban on top of all that? Unforgiveable.

As above, that would be shitshow for everyone. Noone would be able to play top killers, mainly Nurse and you have no idea how much more camping you would see, if killers could ban BT.

How about both sides can ban 4 perks? Survivors can ban 1 each and Killer can ban 4.

It would work for veteran players, but new players are #########.
They talked about ranked / unraked mode in latest surveil. I would like to see some limitations in ranked mode, if it is ever created.
Like addon / item rarity limit, maybe only one item type per survivor and this banning of perks might work too.
It would be kinda nerfed version of tournament rules.
