What is the longest break you have taken from playing dbd and why🤔?
Comments
-
It doesn't, for either.
0 -
Yeah I know that is why I am taking a break right now and see if bhvr can convince me to come back😏
1 -
Close to a year I'd say.
I stopped playing around Descend Beyond, didn't really touch Binding of Kin, and almost forgot All-Kill existed.
But came back around Resident Evil.

And what did you think since you came back🙂

I actually just recently got off of my break from the game, had played since launch to the Legion update, then took a break.
When Death Slinger came out (March 2020), I did hop back on to see what he was about, but that was about it, played for maybe a week. And now all these new killers are out, which to be 100% honest, I don't give a ######### about any of them. I really only played Billy and Nurse before, now Death Slinger, so mainly those 3.
Basically my break was from 2018 till recently, the newest 6 killers payed pretty much no attention to, I think they are all very boring.
Although my break seems to have been longer than I put into time playing, everyone still seems to suck, and nothing has really changed.
And this MMR system... Yikes....

i go thru phases, right now havent played in about a month. Last stretch was 4 months. Ill get the urge to play a lot for like 2 or 3 weeks and then it gets boring. plus i have a lot of other games ive been giving attention to

Two months and because the game is frustrating and it seems like they don't really care anymore now that they have no competition also because Last Year is and was just a better game graphically and with all the interactions characters had it felt like a far superior game. Though them releasing on discord and then steam with no tutorial and quickly changing balance to cater to all the whining babies killed it.

What do you think of the mmr? any other changes that surprised you?🙂
0 -
Maybe things will change with this update...hopefully for the better😇

I just want the game to work and the grind to be lessened.. A less toxic community would also be great but that'll never happen.
0 -
Optimization and more BP? Seems reasonable like any other game with a rank system😇
Unfortunately with dbd yeah the grind is real🙁

Three-ish years. I started playing in 2016, took a break around 2017 because Steam reset all my progress multiple times, and I wanted to play other games with less grind, rather than sink my life into this one. I've been playing the game fairly consistently since I got back, as I actually like it for some godforsaken reason.

A year, I quit when blight came out and came back on when pinhead came out. Not surprising to see how little has changed.
0 -
About a year.
I stopped because of console performance just before the Ruin changes, then didn’t come back due to performance still not being addressed; Ruin change despite games still ending in sub 5 mins. Then Twins and the ‘kick the b4by’ ridiculousness; then the KPopster - both of which I strongly felt did not fit the aesthetic of the game and tbh felt like a mockery to have such iconic horror characters both weak and mixed in with all the newer Scooby Doo style ‘horror’ comedy vibe. It was all really saddening for me.
I eventually got lulled back in by the Resident Evil DLC as it was such a big deal and a surprise; but then that patch and ever since then console has been unplayable for months and is only now back to being ‘technically playable’ but in a state that no game this successful has been in for as long as this game has.
With the way things are atm and look like they are going to be in the near future, I can’t see myself sticking around spending my time and money unless something pleasantly surprising happens with the part 2 dev update tomorrow :(

My longest break was probably like 5 months? It happened when Oni came out, it had nothing to do with Oni, he was a killer i really liked....but i was getting really tired of the game. Im almost on the verge of taking another break, MMr isn't really pleasing tbh. Alot of the fun i had when i came back is just gone with MMR.

I took a break from DBD for a year after the Moonrise event in 2019. I simply just got bored of it.
I came back to it in May 2020 (before the Pyramid Head PTB), took another break shortly after the Bubba rework & Billy nerf mid-chapter for 2 months, then came back a month after Blight came out.
0 -
Six months. I wish it had been longer.
0 -
Are you still playing on steam?🙂
0 -
Which role?🙂

An MMR system can work, but it needs to be in motion for a period of time to really straighten things out assuming it is implemented properly, hopefully that will be the case.
The animation changes for the survivors are kinda weird man ngl. And the UI changes threw me off a bit. Not sure why the big changes.

It's a rollercoaster of emotions as always
Going from "######### YEAH!" to "######### NO!" to "Oh cool."
0 -
Yeah the mmr system is still pretty new...your mains are the ones that will be affected most
0 -
That is how this game is a love-hate relationship 🤣
0 -
Yeah, yeah I am. You think I'd have learned, but Steam doesn't seem to have issues like that anymore--so I've been sticking with it and getting all my achievements back.

From about March 2021-September 2021. I remember why; the games are boring. The new meta puts me to sleep, every match plays the same way, it turned the game into the type of game I actively avoid because it has no variety. I only play now for friends, can still run 95% of killers because the point when I got the game taught me how to do so, combine that with the new meta making killers lazy on learning chases and it becomes a 3, 4, 5 gen run, we get out, rinse, wash, repeat.
The new meta killed the game, the focus on slow-down is boring, everyone runs the same 3 perks with a random bonus perk, makes the games just unenjoyable. Sheep build killed the game, literally puts me to sleep almost any time I play it.

Nice as long as you get to play and are happy😊

So are you just waiting for the new patch? Maybe the killer updates or the boon totem mechanics will bring you back.

Thankfully I recovered from all that
Thanks... but I was scared while I couldn't use the right side of my body... But again I recovered

Hope you are feeling better😇

yesterday I saw a dbd video and thought 'hey why don't I play dbd today?' and then I got in after 5 months of inactivity and then get a screen that tells me that sbmm was implemented and I thought '....nevermind"
0 -
I am... Thanks
0 -
Why didn't you try the new sbmm?😊
0 -
Legion chapter then I came back in deathslingers
0 -
I think the last time i played was just after Deathslinger come out.
I just can't play this crap on console any longer so waiting for cross save.... Because we all know that's high on the agenda!
On a fresh note, BUY MORE COSMETICS!

What system were you playing on?😊

PS4 then moved to PS5 the moment it was released and was forced to play PC players because they seperated PS4 and PS5 from queuing together due to performance difference. PS5 was just out so matchmaking didn't go anywhere and i just gave up eventually.

I've stopped playing multiple times. The longest was probably 3 months. I usually stop playing because terrible balancing. Overtime the frustration builds up from the devs doing things like changing ruin without really talking to the community, then giving perks like OoO a year to balance "properly". Or when they tried to change mori's in a hotfix all sneakily. It's insulting, and makes me lose respect for them.
I'm glad they're not doing things like that anymore, but I'm concerned that 5.3.0 is going to make the game too hard for killers. I've already been struggling from the level redesigns. I don't know if I'm right, but there seem to be more pallets, the loops seem to be bigger, and strong tiles tend to spawn adjacent to one another a lot. I'd be ok with it if genspeeds had been changed.
I come back because there are very few games left I enjoy playing and I haven't found a good stress reliever other than video games. I kind of keep playing just to level up and hope they make some changes to the base game at some point. Although, I'm thinking if I can get a PS5 soon, elden ring is coming out in January and the PvP there will be fun, and balanced.

Probably a few months. It got boring being a new survivor facing people with thousands of hours experience. It was tedious to learn the maps and tiles when every chase lasted 20-30 seconds and I got maybe 2 or 3 chases per match, amounting to let’s say 1 min 30 seconds practice per game.
Came back for SBMM and things have greatly improved.

6 months+
I was a killer main. I was super good at predicting their moves and doing mind games to get them to mess up a loop or 3 gen themselves.
I couldn't take the toxicity anymore. Games was being held hostage and it became so unenjoyable.
Then they released window blocks and EGC so I came back. I played one killer match and switched to survivor. I was a survivor up until Pinhead came out. I started playing killer again because Pinhead is a really fun and I got tired of being a solo survivor going against the killer and my own team.
Honestly, switching roles is a better option than quitting again. I put way too much time and money into the game to just walk away.
0 -
Was pinhead the only killer you played since you came back?😇
You just have to find fun where you can with this game...this next patch is going to be game breaking in one way or another🤔
0 -
Yeah sbmm is a survivors paradise right now 😊
0 -
That sucks...they got you to upgrade then shafted you.☹
0 -
3 years. Got it in 2017, played for a bit and thought the game was super boring and never cared to come back. Came back in mid 2020 to play with a friend, and now we're here.
1 -
Yeah. I tried to play Pig and Huntress but I failed miserably. I did decent with Trapper but he gives no pressure and every match with him I didn't pull out a win until late in the games.

About a month, because of my Military Service.
0 -
6 months is the longest, but I regularly take 2 or 3 month breaks as well.
0 -
And is the experience any better this time?😇
