Honestly
The idea that a Killer has to spend 3 seconds to kick a gen and a Survivor just needs 5 milliseconds to undo that kick is really stupid and has been overlooked for too long.

You could always bring pop to help a little.

Base regression still needs a buff. Contrary to popular belief, most killers dont like bringing slow downs and would prefer base regression to be at a point where you can compete without slowdowns.

yeah but I just don’t think that’s gonna happen because of all those slowdown perks.
0 -
Of course it will not happen. Generators might never be finished again if we couldn't gen tap.

There’s a reason as to why these gen defense perks exist. If base regression got buffed, than there would be no point in using them anymore.

Its not even base regression. Its how a Survivor can literally STOP regression while in mid chase with almost no repercussions. How can someone on the design team look at that and think "Yeah, thats fine"
Sure you can bring Ruin. But again that relying on a Hex Perk which ultimately boils down to - Did RNG placement fu ck me over? Did the Dev's actually try to hide this totem or did they just slap it right next to a generator and say good enough?

They need to implement a delay for repairing regressing generators.
Non-regressing generators can start repair immediately, but if you go to repair a gen that's regressing, then it should take 2.5 seconds of contact during which the regression only pauses, but does not stop, and repair progress is not made.
If you continue to hold onto the gen for more than 2.5 seconds then repairs begin and regression is stopped, but if you let go within those first 2.5 seconds, then the gen regression resumes, and no repairs were made.
This would still be in the survivors favour, because of the 1v4 cost discrepancy, 2.5 seconds is worth a lot more to the killer than it is to the survivor. But it would eliminate gen tapping in a chase, which is the most bullshit thing next to mid-game hatch escapes, which are thankfully finally going away.

it would be just as easy to everytime a gen is kicked and the survivors try to repair it, a skillcheck is required. If they just tap it and continue the chase, the gen explodes and regresses the normal failed skillcheck regression. It's like overcharge, but without it being a "hard" skillcheck. I would also rework overcharge if this is done tho.

This is essentially making Overcharge basekit. While it's a solution, I don't think it's one BHVR would go for.

oh ofc they would not go for this. But anyway, let's be honest, who runs overcharge these days? The perk is not that good to be a problem. It would be a problem to new people in the game that are not used to skillchecks. But as i said, instead of making it a hard one, make it a normal one.

Honestly, if you're kicking gens with out a slow down perk , you're doing it wrong.
2 -
That’s a rather false blanket statement. There are simply times it’s ok to do this.
If BHVR would just make base generator damage 5% then do standard regression, killers would get a little more reward for stopping to perform the action. It would help offset gen tapping at least a bit.

Gen kicking is a base mechanic, it shouldn't be pointless without a gen-kick perk.

killers are heavily dependent on gen slowdown perks anyway and considering there are zero common slowdown perks, this system needs a significant tweak
0 -
It is a blanket statement. IMO, kicking gens at base regression is not worth it. Especially midchase
0 -
list common slowdown perks, please
0 -
I didn't say it should, just that it is.
0 -
I don't understand? You need help with slow down perks?
0 -
Hence the suggestion to change it...

Yes, I agree that base regression needs to be looked at. But as it is now, IMO, not worth kicking a gen.

name all slowdown perks that are not part of any killer

Why?
