Does anyone else have trouble seeing/finding hooks as killer when they are not highlighted ?

( if anyone knows how to make polls allow more than one answer be checked please comment below thanks ) I've noticed I often walk right past an empty hook while carrying a survivor, causing me to sometimes find a more distant hook. Sometimes I lose the carried survivor due to the extra time and distance. This issue is much worse in maps where it's night time. As a result, I have resorted to looking around my immediate area to see a hook before picking up a downed survivor. Even then I often miss nearby hooks that are not highlighted.

So I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this. If you have tips please comment.

When carrying a survivor, the hooks should have glowing auras. Not glowing auras if they're behind something else; whether they're two inches away in direct line of sight or two miles away behind fifty walls, they should be bright and easy to see.

The hooks are designed to blend in with the map, not for gameplay reasons but for aesthetic reasons. It actually hinders killers who have regular human eyesight, especially older players whose night vision isn't so great. So, when knowing where the hook right freaking now is important for the killer (i.e. when carrying a survivor), they should not have to squint at the screen and swivel the camera five times trying to determine if there's a hook nearby.

My friend is constantly having trouble with that, which is why he often doesn't hook survivors or he'll hand the controller to me after downing someone like, "Here, you deal with it." And I'm not perfect, either. Like I said, the hooks are designed to disappear into the map.

Maybe very occasionally I'll miss one, but it's usually out of not concentrating and being observant enough. It's very uncommon I'll actually miss a hook because I can't see it, despite it being near me.

That being said, highlighting hooks regardless of if they're behind walls or not would be something I'd support. It wouldn't make much of a difference on the whole, but would be useful now and again and also useful for those who can't see the hooks as well. I use quite a lot of ReShade settings in my game, so I could be a little biased.

Devs have made pallets brightly colored so its easier to see, but for hooks, they opted for them to blend into the background. makes sense.

Yeah if pallets are brightly colored then adding all the other reasons people stated it would be more fair to make all hooks more visible too. If they are worried about their aesthetics they can simply do a highlight or outline for killers, otherwise I don't mind if hooks are more visible to everyone
