I agree, though not for the same reason.
6 -
My reasons are countless so I didn't wanted to write them all to seem like it's cry post but this state of game I've never been too and I play for 2 years
1 -
I feel like this is the second worst state, the first being A Binding of Kin's release and the third being the Resident Evil release.
4 -
I actually don't recall of twins chapter very much and what was happening maybe I wasn't playing that much back than but yeah
0 -
I've found these last few weeks to be an incredible experience on the game, and I'm super happy with how it feels.
3 -
You're lucky you can't, almost everything to do with that chapter was bugged or didn't work.
The bugs were so bad that the game issued an apology.
3 -
I am enjoying the game at the moment. Both killer and survivor. Killer matches especially have been quite challenging, but fun.
I do agree that the game's state isn't anything fantastic though. The mmr is quite disappointing considering how long they seemingly worked on it. I still don't get how the current mmr is what they ended up with after like one or two years of preperation.
3 -
Well that's nice to hear unfortunately I can't say the same for me games were nothing but hell on both sides If I play killer gens fly like crazy if I play survivor my team is all acting like newbie rank 20's that gets me killed all time and I know my skills aren't that low
1 -
What exactly happened during the twins release? I was on a break at that time.
0 -
This again is something I don't understand. If gens are constantly flying like crazy for you, I guess you are losing most of the matches, or? So your mmr should lower until you go against survivors you can compete with more. But for some reason that doesn't seem to be happening. The sbmm just doesn't seem to be good.
And, well, if that's true and your teammates are getting you killed, then we already know why sbmm isn't helping you in that case, as the lead designer of BHVR himself admitted it's mostly just about escapes.

What I find funny is; How long did they leave so many bugs in the game during Binding of Kin? Just to remove Pinheads voicelines day of release.
Like. Damn lol

- The power would sometimes not work at all. Examples of this include when Victor would literally freeze when he was released and you were stuck like that for the entire game.
- When Victor was latched onto a survivor, he could be seen flying around them and being crushed in the air.
- After crushing Victor, he could sometimes be seen floating around you
- Victor's camera would get stuck at a 45 degree angle
- Victor could sometimes get stuck when he pounced on a locker with a survivor inside, leaving him useless and wasting 45 seconds of the player's time as you had to wait as Charlotte to recall him.
- Hoarder didn't work at all.
- Coup de grace didn't show the extra lunge all the time.
- Deception I don't think worked at all (and it even caused some lag spikes).
- Power Struggle didn't work either and sometimes caused survivors to get stuck in the middle of the pallet.
The entire launch was a ######### show.

Damn. Not good.
But for me re chapter was the worse since I am a last gen player. It was unplayable. At least now it is a little bit better and they will improve it more hopefully.

I swear ppl say this every single chapter and update "This is the worst state of the game"
1 -
That's true, I've never experienced the game on console (in the last year) but in my experience on PC, A binding of kin was the worst one.
0 -
Then you haven't played when infinites were a thing, or the Twins release, or even the insta gen pops if old brand new parts
2 -
I actually never said this but now? I just see it as it is I didn't said that during Re release even tho it was broken completely but now? I think we are all getting litlle fed up with it game is not in good state rn and we all know that I had to turn off dbd today after 3 matches because of how bad it is and I usually enjoy dbd but now I don't anymore
1 -
Playing dbd rn feels like putting my hand in boiling hot water but occasionally getting rewarded with serotonin
2 -
The worst state the game had been in was about 3-4 years ago when infinites were still a thing, insta heals were still a thing, old nurse was still a thing, etc.
1 -
Yeah. Too many times game-breaking bugs come out of the woodworks when a new chapter is released. Binding of Kin really lowered the DBD bar of standards when the game became unpleasant to play due to bugs. A lot of them had nothing to do with the new characters. It really ruins the mood when you update your game to a worse condition. Many people would complain about the Twins while I just wanted my game to work.

You are flat-out wrong if you support your claim with matchmaking alone.
There used to be actual infinite loops in the game. Brand New Parts would fully repair a generator with 0% progress in the slap of a space bar. There used to be no Exhaustion status effect. Matchmaking times were incredibly long for everyone (I know some players have this problem now, I'll admit, but it used to be worse for the whole player base). There used to be no DC penalty. After waiting for 15 minutes for a match, 3 people would DC commonly. We've had so many killer and killer add-on reworks. For christ's sake, so many people lost their mind when Trapper could reset a trap on the ground! Huntress only can have 1 Irredescent hatchet now. Maps have been made brighter and better-looking. Insta-Cahinsaws are gone. Hatch standoffs are no more. Keys and hatches are changed or are changing. Trapper is going to have 2 traps! Spirit is changing. Perks have changed. DS is now a defensive perk. BT now works always. The game itself would just be bad to play on during the Binding of Kin and Resident Evil release days.
There is just so much more, too! I feel like I'm Jerry Seinfeld ranting and listing all these things. I criticize DBD all the time, but this being the worst state is just factually untrue.

I still think the post release of the R.E. chapter was the all time low this game has sunk to.

Although this is true, do we not remember Blight's release where killers could not hook survivors, couldn't kick generators, and couldn't break pallets? Also survivors were getting stuck to hooks and couldn't do anything? Personally I'd say that's worse than the A Binding of Kin update.
1 -
Self care, ds, toolbox meta and watching 4 gens pop in 1 30 while eating 4 ds on your first 4 chase still have ptsd from 2018
2 -
I wasn't playing around that time but it's a matter of experience and for me, A binding of kin's was worse.
0 -
If I were to guess YOUR reasoning...
it's because old Freddy is still dead.
0 -
That's fair. If you weren't playing around then and you were playing around A Binding of Kin and it was a bad experience, then that's what it was.
1 -
Don't forget:
Survivors being able to 99% every gen on the map because the Killer had no ability to kick gens.
Survivors being able to permanently break every hook on the map outside of the basement, along with permanently breaking all of the Trapper's traps.
Practically every match ending in a 4-man slug bleedout because that was the only way a Killer could win a match.
Anyone who thinks this game is currently in a terrible state needs to search YouTube for "DbD 2016" and watch some old videos to see how bad it was.
1 -
Yeah, I don't want to invalidate those who did play during Blight's release (because I remember seeing the criticism on the forums).
1 -
Those were the good old days before the game became so killer favored.
0 -
I'm not talking about in game stuff like perks or add ons or whatever I'm talking about gameplay that's dbd in right now matchmaking completely twisted our games and made it worse than it ever was at least for me in my experience....I can deal with bugs and broken things but I can't deal when matches are so obnoxious that u just can't wait to turn the game off
1 -
Not quite.
Yes, Old Freddy is extremely important and I don't even have words to express how much I want him to return.
However, his absence isn't enough to completely ruin the game. Take Patch 3.1.0, for example: that patch was Freddy's rework, I was playing right when it dropped and even the faintest memory of that day makes me sad.
Was that the worst possible state? No.
Because even though Freddy had been ruined, everything else was still there. The maps, the old HUD, the old animations, Splinters, Old Ruin, Old Billy, Old Doctor, Old Cannibal, and the list goes on.
What makes current DBD the absolute worst state possible, in my honest opinion, is the fact that it doesn't even look like the game that I fell in love with back in 2018.
2 -
Claiming that this is the "worst state of game ever" and NOT including perks and add-ons is simply disingenuous to the whole conversation. The state of the game relies on ALL parts of the game; from system optimization to in-game purchases to, yes, matchmaking. You can't expect others to agree when you say the whole state of the game is ruined because of different matchmaking when there were players on console who COULD NOT PLAY. You have to choose your words carefully and specifically and not parrot "worst game state ever" "worst game state of all time" when you just don't like the survivors you're playing with.
You're comparing mountains to molehills when you say that previous game states were better than today. The bar has been lowered so low that I was amazed that pallets still stunned killers when Pinhead got released.
0 -
Matchmaking is ruined we have worst out of worst matches since ever some maps are disabled and it's repeating it's same maps over and over this game is in worst state and I stand behind what I said nobody cares for perks u find Meta or not or any in game stuff because we can't even have proper game because of screwed up matchmaking
2 -
Those were the dark times of dbd and it still survived.
1 -
Just finished a game where I was tunneled endlessly, still managed to lose the killer enough to do 3 gens, got chased by him endgame next to all three other survivors, full health, while I'm injured, and none took a hit for me.
Yeah, this is some bullshit.
2 -
Agreed my only problem is the possibility of Boones plus built to last could bring it back to a similar state but I don't think it will be as bad.
1 -
It's not, mmr just made clear the issues of the game.
Genrushing, tunneling camping and bs items/addons fiesta.
Those have been in the game for ages, they were just rare now they're the norm
1 -
Yup. This game is ruined. I don't enjoy it anymore since the new matchmaking.
