Interview Series Episode 10: GeneralV
Welcomed back everyone to the series for those unaware I did this a while back but there was lackluster content and the last one ended with Dabihow banned. But, currently the game is in a rather turbulent state. It’s a good time to bring it back and we start again with @GeneralV. But we’ll get to know him first with simple questions first. And if anyone could post past interviews much appreciated. So GeneralV
- How’d you discover the game?
- How’d you come up with the name GeneralV?

Let’s go. Glad to see this back.

Thanks for having me on the show, it is a honor to get interviewed by you!
- It was the year of 2018. I was playing Friday the 13th: The Game with a friend. Jason wasn't really doing anything so we just kept talking, and when I asked him about game suggestions he mentioned Dead by Daylight. I bought it 1 month later.
- My name doesn't really have a very creative story behind it. I created most of my accounts during a time when I was really into Just Cause 3, a game which the main antagonist happens to have the title of "General". So I took it :) As for "V", it is the first letter of my real name.

It’ll be interesting to see what General has to say. Great friend on here.

Hey, thank you so much!

3.Which side do you main and why?
4.Of that side which character/s do you main and why?
2 -
No problem! Here's all the other interviews.

Despite playing both sides, I was always slightly more inclined towards killer. It was the killer experience that really got me into the game in the first place, so it was always more fun than survivor for me.
My dear, sweet Freddy Krueger, obviously. I bought the ANOES DLC together with the base game back in 2018, and played Freddy pretty much exclusively until his rework dropped.
No matter how much I enjoyed playing other killers, I would always go back to Freddy eventually, even if I HATE his current power.

5.Favorite map/realm as survivor?
6.Disliked map/realm as survivor?
7.Favorite map/realm as killer?
8.Disliked map/realm as killer?

If the Realm Beyond didn't exist, Old Léry's would be the answer to 5 and 7. I LOVED that map so much that I don't even words to express it.
Since Léry's got changed long ago, my opinions changed a bit:
5-Definitely Mother's Dwelling, an unchanged map that is always good for survivor.
6-Dead Dawg Saloon is the map that I dislike the most, for both sides.
7- Midwich. I always seen to do well on that map for some reason, and its ambience is top-tier.
8-Same answer as 6. Dead Dawg Saloon is hell.
EDIT: Just a typo.

Glad to see the return of this with one of the better members of the community ^^

- Aside from ANOES, are there any other licenses in DBD you love/like?
- Assuming reverting Freddy and The Realm Beyond are first, what are some changes you'd do to DBD if possible?
- Waffles or Pancakes?

One of the better members? You flatter me, my friend, I do not deserve such praise.

9.Favorite killer to face as survivor?
10.Disliked killer to face as survivor?
11.Favorite survivor to face as killer?
12.Disliked survivor to face as killer?

Yes, there is! TCM, Halloween, Saw, Silent Hill and Stranger Things.
In this ideal world where Freddy and The Realm Beyond were reverted, there would still be lots of things to revert. But I can tell you that I would also bring Moonlight and Splinter offerings back and add the option to customize our menu (who doesn't want to see that beautiful Winter lobby again?).
Waffles.

9- Freddy, old version in particular. Having the Nightmare on a trial is always a pleasure, no matter if I am playing as him or against him.
10- Trickster. A killer that doesn't even fit the game to begin with, paired with an extremely annoying power, is a recipe for disaster. I hate him more than I hate Ghostface, and that is no easy feat.
11- While I enjoy facing any survivor from the older cast, I have to admit that Laurie Strode has a special place. Facing a legendary final girl like her is just...right, for a horror game.
12- Felix and Élodie. Felix is completely forgettable to me, and Élodie's scream is not something that I enjoyed.

It is too much praise, I am going to melt!
Thank you so much, my friend!
2 -
Definitely not too much. You deserve it, one of the best forum members.

13.Favorite survivor perk?
14.Disliked survivor perk?
15.Favorite killer perk?
16.Disliked killer perk?

I don't really think I do, but I am honored that you think so.
It really means a lot to me <3

My answers for this one would drastically change if some perks were not reworked, but I will keep things up to date:
13- Adrenaline. I understand why people once complained about this perk, but I could never bring myself to do so. Adrenaline saved my life many times throughout the years, and it was always difficult to remove it from my builds.
14- Dead Hard. The only perk in the game that needs an actual nerf, in my honest opinion. I've always hated this perk as killer, and almost never used it as survivor.
15- Blood Warden. I've stopped using it when the EGC was introduced, but I will never forget that good plays and the amazing moments that I had with this perk.
16- Hex: Blood Favour. This perk was never a good idea, in my honest opinion, regardless of how weak it was upon initial release.
2 -
Don't worry we think so. Most people think of you as pretty nice and your even on the list of favorite forum members for a couple people including mine

17.What’s you favorite chapter/paragraph?
18.What’s your disliked chapter/paragraph?
19.What’s your dream chapter?
20.What keeps you playing DBD?
That’ll wrap up the simple questions.
1 -
I don't even know what to say.
I am just someone who really loved what DBD once was and make comments about it. All of this praise is really unexpected.
I appreciate it, my friend <3
1 -
17- A Nightmare On Elm Street
18- All-Kill
19- The on-release version of the ANOES Chapter is already my dream chapter, to be honest.
20- For quite some time, my love for what DBD once was kept me around, but recently nothing does. Haven't played DBD in a while, though I am keeping an eye on the upcoming Halloween event. I don't think it will be good enough for me to return, but it is good to have a little bit of hope.
1 -
“Oh hey thats me”
2 -
I would be stoked to see you return. Those Cowshed 1v1’s we did that one time were enjoyable.
3 -
you actually got to play with him? lucky
3 -
Yeah a few months ago.
2 -
They sure were! And who knows?
Maybe the Halloween event will be unexpectedly good, or maybe they will revert a rework or too at some point.
Only time will tell.

21.The recent Mid-Chapter has a plethora of changes coming much more then any one in recent memory we’ll go over the changes. But, how important is it to have chapters with that many changes?
1 -
4. Favorite Game Genre(s)?
5. Favorite Film Genre(s)?
6. Favorite way to have Eggs? (like Omelettes or Sunny Side Up or something like that)
1 -
Not as necessary as it first seems.
Curtain Call. for example, was released together with a very big patch that changed many things, but not every single chapter was like that. It is possible to update things a bit more slowly, or not at all.
Not everything has to change. Some things are better left untouched.
1 -
Why have I never noticed this thing is a full on no holds barred forum series....
2 -
@WishIcouldmain made it back in April and they took a break from it in June. It made its return today.
1 -
22.But would it better to still have more changes then less? 5.2.0 compared to 5.3.0 is a huge difference in change amount and the second a better representation of 3 months of work.
1 -
It depends on the changes.
If all of them are good, then yes, it is objectively better to have more changes than less. They just don't have to come in a big package every single time.
You could, for example, change a few things on a Chapter's release and change the rest on a Mid-Chapter release. That also works.

23.We’ll begin with perks first off Hex:Retribution how is it’s buff?
1 -
Honestly, Retribution is a perk that has never interested me. If I recall correctly, I only used it for Adept Deathslinger.
However, I would say it was a good buff for what this perk does.
1 -
Unsurprisingly, asymmetrical horror.
Also horror, though usually inclined towards slasher.
Fried eggs, I suppose.
1 -
24.And here’s a perk that was a little controversial in the PTB Hex:Blood Favor it suddenly went from worst perk contention to a few saying it was OP and currently it seems it will be tuned down. How were the changes? And should there be more?
1 -
I think the changes were awful, just like the perk itself. Perks that have something to do with Pallets, such as Enduring and Spirit Fury are okay, in my honest opinion.
However, I never liked the idea of a perk that actually blocks them.
It was good that Blood Favour started as a pretty weak perk, and it should stay that way.
0 -
How would you change if further if it’s too strong?
1 -
Revert it back to its original version and leave it like that.
0 -
Then would that be too weak and just better to rework it all together?
2 -
Reworks are not something that I enjoy, but for this perk specifically perhaps it would be a good idea.
They would have to turn it into something acceptable, though, and what exactly should Blood Favour become is beyond me.

Awhhh yeah! He finally got his interview!

People did interviews on here?
