Grading System - Ticking (Pipping Down) in at a Grade Level
I present to you a proposal that the grading system should not be allowed to de-pip (or take away a tick mark).
The harshest the grading system should be able to do is... not pip up. i.e. A "0" for the match.
The reasons for this is simple... The system isn't smart enough to understand what happened in the match to judge you harshly. It's looking for a certain amount of points to be gained, and/or a variety of things done in the trial in order to judge your play. However, if you do or don't do that much, is generally not your doing.
Various examples, where you will de-pip: (survivor sided)
- If you get face-camped and tunneled out of a match
- If you are running the killer for most the match.
- If your team throws the match
- If you are Mori'd by a god-awful in-game allowed hack (i.e. Judiths Tombstone)
- The survivor team completely dominated. Killer barely got any hits or hooks.
- etc.
The grading system is not able to accurately take any of these examples (and more) into consideration when it judges you at the end of the match. So, what grounds does it have to de-pip you?
This system is only capable of seeing stats. As such, it should be able to reward on said stats, or not reward on said stats. i.e. You can pip, or not pip at end of match.
To de-pip, the system would need to take much more into consideration than it is capable of.
As such, I believe the system should not be allowed to de-pip.
Perhaps, de-pipping can be done exclusively for DCing or other specific events.

I mean, you can't lose a grade at least, but it would even more easy to reach max grade without any depips.
Then 250k reward would actually be fine for how easy this is.

Pips are based on emblems, not the kills/escapes in Escape-Based Matchmaking, which still are adjusted by how well you're doing by participating in the trial.

The grading system is one of the reasons to play the game.
I understand that it has nothing to do with the MMR... But it is a game mechanic that people play the game to improve.
I just find it very flawed.
For instance, today... I was Iridescent 3, with 4 ticks... Ready to Pip up to Iridescent 2.. (serious face on)
The match proceeds... all 3 of my teammates DC within a few minutes.
Guess what? That's a down tick for me.... WTH.
Yesterday... I got a cloak and hide in the corner wraith... obviously there wasn't much to do in that match.
All gens got done and we eventually left.
Down tick for me, cause the stats... that's ridiculous.
Why am I punished for other peoples actions?
This is the type of thing I'm talking about... The system doesn't understand, at all, what actually happened in the game... so it shouldn't be able to judge and punish you. The only things it should be judging is rather or not to give you a tick or NOT. "0", "+1", "+2". These can be determined by stats. The 0 is kind of your punishment. The game is telling you, you didn't do enough in this round. Makes sense.
