The state of the game right now.
Right now as a surv main the game is in a really bad state. MMR is ruining this game. Its forcing Killers to do things in order to win/gain MMR that is just not fun for other players. The current state is forcing killers to camp and tunnel players out of the game. Which is ######### and makes the game a dread to even open anymore. I am a red ranked surv and I have a higher MMR. But right now when I play 80% of the time I run the killer and then get tunneled and camped. The attempt to make this game into a competitive game is just not how this game can go. The balance isnt there, so many factors go into a game that makes it stupid to even try. Perks, add ons, how many in a party, lobby balancing. The only true thing in this game skill wise is the ability to guess what a killer/surv is going to do and counter it. The mind game is the biggest skill gap. The only competitive aspect of this game. Now I dont mind having try or get ######### on every once in a while because of these things but when its a constant it becomes a bit boring. SBMM has never worked in any game. Look at COD multiplayer where the base game isnt even where the player count comes from. You take warzone out which ironically also has SBMM but at least its the only good BR currently. SBMM has only ever been for people looking to make money off the game competitively or kids who are so bad that they cant keep. Casuals gamers isnt who SBMM is geared to and never will be. They are happy playing the game win or lose. But if you make is so that with tunneling and camping that they dont even get to play the game they will eventually leave the game. I have fun playing the game when I get to play. Its frustrating though on so many levels when with MMR that I que into a game and run a killer but for lobbying balancing my team isnt that skilled and I end dying with no objs done. It happens so many times that I run them for 5 mins and then 1 gen is popped in that time. Now Im not saying there is something wrong with skill but SBMM has always hindered people who have the ability to be good. The game is suppose to be about fun and current meta due to how MMR is done and just SBMM in general have turned this game into a dread to play. Now I know my account alone wont due any good and maybe playing with a 4 man is the way to go. But anyone should be able to load up and be able to have fun and play without getting tunneled or camped to death because thats one of the only ways to win. Im not saying that I want to curb stomp players but I want variety. I want to be to go in and play and if I get a good killer then we have to be better and if we get a not as good killer then the killer will have to step up. Thats not how it is right now and its not fun. With the lack of games right now that are appealing to me, that is the only reason I still play it. But even that is beginning to fade. Very few people want to sweat every game and those who do just give them a ranked playlist but that wouldnt happen because for some reason with 30k on steam theres not enough players for que times. All this topped with other problems in the game such a latency problems and certain perks like no ed make it increasingly harder to play the game. I know some will disagree but from the people around me that have played the game in the last month. The consensus has all been the same. It needs to change because its not fun anymore. Stop trying to balance a game that at its core is a non competitive game by using the highest level of play as examples.

MMR works well for MOBA games like Dota...
Problem is soloQ vs SWF experience, but they said they are looking into way of helping soloQ, so you can have some hope.
I hope they are going to buff more killers and perks, so there is just more variety in high MMR.
I almost never play soloQ, I am killer main, so when I play survivors it's always SWF, so I have no idea how bad it is for soloQ with SBMM.
I think they should just give all survivors info that is easily shared for SWF. I can say more about that, if interested, but I talked about it lot of times, so don't wanna repeat myself again.
As SWF even during SBMM, we get 2+ escapes like 90% of our games. Tunneling is not really an issue for us, because we just go for protective hits a lot and just cycle for killers attention, but yeah that's something way harder to do for soloQ. Circle of healing will help that a lot, but it's disabled now...

How is MMR forcing killers to win? There is absolutely no benefit of being high MMR killer. You don't get any reward for being sweaty champion. You can't even tell what is you MMR to make yourself proud of it.
You only get BP reward for playing game and that's it.
The point of SBMM is get equal opponents to have comfortable games. If you lose you get weaker opponents next time. If you win you get stronger opponents. Nothing but stronger opponents is reward for being high MMR killer. It's a very debatable reward to target.

Did you even read what I put? I explained it very simply. MMR has forced killers to play a certain way because of MMR works. Killers its solely getting 3-4 kills. Survs its getting out and thats it. That promotes the idea if you want to rank up you have to do w/e you can to get kills. Even OTZ says that camping and tunneling is necessary to get more kills. When you get to a certain level and that happens constantly to you its annoying. You dont get to play the game. I run the killer and then when I finally go down I get camped or tunneled out of the game. So basically played 3 mins and after that im pushed into the next game. That ######### is ruining peoples experience. It will be the death of this game. Im tired of having a debate about MMR. Its never been good for games esp for this kind of game where it was made to casual not competitive. The game has far too many factors to balance in order to be competitive. Its just another example of trying to make a game competitive so people can make tournament money. This game should be fun first and competitive second. Thats it.

Yea but you cant just say don't play solo because of the state of game. When I want to play the game and I don't have people around to play then I should be able to load up the game. I'm not saying you don't have a good idea but MMR just has never worked. DBD isn't a competitive game. MM should be completely random for the best experience across the board. Yes sometimes you'll match someone who will wipe you and sometimes you'll match someone who will be wiped and sometimes you will get a good battle. The only thing that should be in account for MM is ping because of how the netcode of the game is. A lot of time ill get hit around corners or my actions will get ate because of the discrepancy in latency. I get what you're saying but in my opinion and many others around me who play MMR has ruined the fun of the game.

They will fix and balance what they can. However the more you go up the more is natural to have matches with meta builds and competitive mindset to play a game at max. Hope devs will consider to add a casual queque, where you can chill and tryng build, and with forbidden things (maybe with pre game vote).

I didn't get one thing. What forces killer to play the "4 hooks 4 kills" playstyle if only reward for winning is stronger opponents and nothing else.
MMR number is invisible to be proud of. You don't get any BP or XP multiplier for high MMR. So how exactly MMR forces killers to play sweaty?

but I noticed sth. I'm going to keep it very simple: I feel like the teammate-mmr is either lower or the same but the killer mmr is always higher.
This sounds wrong but the last few days those teams are a big mess... You can't win with those it's technically not possible. You could think that the MMR will match you with lower mmr killer but it doesn't. I feel like -> I <- get matched right bc when I chase the killer or look at how he's playing the game it feels okay. But my teammates can't follow up. It's too much pressure to them and it just gets boring. I already equipped Left behind so there's at least a solid chance to not lose my mmr.
Sth needs to be changed. Feels like old matchmaking: After a while you get rainbow teammates running to the edges of the map to selfcare against sloppy butcher while the Killer are obv good and sweaty. I changed my playstyle back to 20/80 survivor/killer. otherwise i get mad.

Dont believe I said sweaty. I think I said it forces them to play to a certain style in order to rank up. That style is camping and tunneling. That is the ######### part of this game. In the last two days I have faced maybe one killer that hasnt done those things. That makes people literally not able to play the game. Which will kill the game in a very quick time frame.

Its not so much match with higher killers but rather balancing lobbies out so the killer isnt over whelmed with 4 good survs. Which should be totally random. Thats the only way to make this game fair across the board and get rid of the camping and tunneling meta.

Alright, but rank up for what? What is reward for ranking up? For what reward killers do this playstyle?

Is that a serious question? You do realize people want to rank up? You may not understand that but that is what some people think. Thats why MMR is bad. Casual and ranked should be modes. No questions and nothing else to be said.
