When do I face Killers at my skill?
Why does it feel like the SBMM takes away 2 points from my rating when I die and gives me 200 points if I escape?
I die 20 matches in a row, getting the hatch in maybe 3 of those matches, and I still get matched with killers who 4k every match. Then, when I do escape, I immediately get a sweaty obnoxious killer with disgusting perks and addons who 4k's in half the time.

I'm pretty sure that's exactly how it works.

I'm the same as killer. I get 0k, or 1k during egc, for about 10 matches as the survivors are still above my skill level. Then it may throw me a pity bone and let me get a 2k. Then I go back to the 10 extremely difficult games, rinse and repeat.

skill-based matchmaking isn't based on skill, so whoever you get in your matches is completely randomized basically
