Consensus of opinion on BBQ and Chili in 2.4...
Before V2.4, there were a lot of "nerf bbq" threads, but I haven't seen one for a while now.
How do Survivor mains feel about the changes with the Lockers and with Distortion, potential counters? Does this satisfy the call for nerfing?

In my opinion, BBQ&Chili is still a great perk, (if not for the blood-points farm alone).
The Devs did a great job on hiding aura's in lockers. It's one of those things newer players assumed to be the case because it instinctively feels it should.
So yes it does.

I play both sides and don't think it needed nerfed. However, it doesn't bother me at all.2

Idk, i still see plenty of auras and still get more BP.
It's not going out of my build.1 -
After playing with it for a bit, I really gotta' say I don't notice much of a difference. The people who are smart enough to hide in a locker were smart enough to hide behind a generator before the change. I still see one or two auras per hook which feels about the same as before.
The only big difference I notice is that things stop for a couple seconds whenever I hook someone. People get off their generators and go sprinting over to the nearest locker. If I'm lucky, I'll even turn around to spot them hopping in one.
I don't think it really needed a nerf, but I also don't think it's a bad perk now by any means. Though I am glad that stealth players are getting a little love.

If that's commonplace, then it's actually a buff for B&C if you face competent Survivors.
Instead of hiding behind gens and then afterwards immediately go back to repairing, now they might try the safer option, the lockers, but lose a few more seconds at least in doing so.0 -
i have gotten a lot more locker grabs by seeing people not getting in lockers in time

Distortion is S Tier. Along with lockers, my QoL as Survivor improved quite a bit.
I stopped running it while playing Killer a while ago. I’m still using Whispers though, it’s my crutch.0 -

I personally didn't even see that many people calling for it to be nerfed.
I've tried out distortion. It's pretty good. Tends to last a lot longer than I expected - by that I mean I thoight those tokens would run out fast but they last most of the game. Its nice to know what perk the killer has too, as in if they hook and you lose a stack you know its bbq, if you lose a token after a gen is done you know its bitter murmer etc
Happy with my current build though so havent got space for distortion.
As for BBQ. It seems about the same as before. You'd either see all auras or no auras. I dont think too many are using lockers from what I've seen. I should combine bbq with iron maiden to be sure. I never found bbq THAT useful though. Most killers are too slow to take advantage of it and their terror radius is too much of a heads up so by the time you get to their area they've urban evasioned away somewhere. I'm only taking it at the moment for the extra BP during the event.0 -
I think all of the “nerf BBQ” threads have disappeared because the devs finally gave in to their demands. I wonder how many Survivors run Distortion just because it counters BBQ.0

I wonder if we can finally get the DS Nerf now then.

it's fine as it is, i pretty much only use it for BP gains

Some Survivors are really stupid and not patient enuf and I still see them going out of a locker lol0

As a survivor i never asked for bbq to get nerfed because had easy counters.
As a killer the bbq nerf didn't affect me because i learnt how to play without using it since the beginning.0 -
The BBQ nerf via locker buff was never needed. It has enough counterplay and gives a reason to leave the hook. That it got nerfed is because of the outcry of bad players on both sides. Most of all players in all games are bad at the game they play and dbd is no exception if any its easier then most games and people still are bad on it making the average player even worse. Who is the vocal majority? Bad players. Changing stuff based on low skill players is always a bad idea but BHVR dosent know their own game very well.

BBQ is still the best perk in the game for killers because it gives you information of where everyone else is. Even though I despise the locker aura blocking, that alone wouldn't nerf BBQ hard enough to make it not useful (or to run Rancor or Bitter Murmur instead).
That said, Distortion as well is ridiculous. Not because of the aura blocking (though having it blocked for 10 seconds is ridiculous), but it _also hides your scratch marks _. Which is completely over the top and asinine.Overall, I still run BBQ on every killer not named Freddy (because he's the one killer I'd rather use Rancor on) or Hag (because I need to place one or two traps at the hook anyway, so why bother). It never needed any nerfs or counters, but hey, I still find it extremely useful.
