Devs Balancing Allows Survivors to Have the Biggest Egos
As the title says, when the devs choose to balance this game for casuals with barely 100 hours in the game it just allows Survivor mains to be even more toxic towards Killers because lets face it their objective is way easier than Killers and Killers just get shafted near enough every patch.
You get these Survivor mains who genuinely think they are gods gift to the game but stick them on any other multiplayer you will find they are wither insanely low rank or they just get destroyed and rage every game. DbD is the only game they got going for them where they get a victory 85% of the time.
Logging into DbD I had a Trickster daily, to my luck on RNG I get put on Haddonfield, already off to a bad start. I end up downing these guys very quickly but it didn't matter because gens fly and the map is horrifically balanced even when I was playing well. On 7 hooks surprise surprise all the gens get done and I manage to secure 8, rather good for Trickster on Haddonfield.
As you'd expect, end game chat these guys had the biggest inflated egos imaginable saying how I'm the trash one, I should get good, I should learn to play etc. So I said, lets have a rematch to which point I'd play a killer who could definitely compete against these guys, I could already down them quickly with a trash killer so a viable one who can gen pressure should realistically be rather simple to go against with. Do you think these guys accepted? Of course they didn't instead they went off with their egos even more which also means they are unsportsmanlike. In a fighter you don't just say you are better than someone because you beat them once, you have rematches. All bark no bite with these guys and they will just keep doing it over and over again playing their little bully simulator.
I really do not understand why the devs choose to balance their game for people like this just to allow them to create even more bigger egos. I guarantee you if this game was even remotely balanced in a way where all Killers have a chance to compete without gen defence a lot of these Survivor mains who think they are gods gift would probably get bricked on most matches because they have no real skill in the game, they just get carried by bad game design.

Survivors have gotten nothing but nerfs since the game came out...
12 -
Clearly you never played solo q.
9 -
Tell me about it, Survivors think they're untouchable sometimes. And they think if they win, its a massive deal and it gives them a right to trash the killer, when its far from the truth
8 -
God loops: completely justified there was 0 counter as a regular M1 killer
Multiple pallets in a single jungle gym: If that was in the game now the killer would probably never get you
Old BNP: actually massively broken, what was it? 15 seconds gen was done? you really think this was fair?
Always fast vault a window no matter the angle: This was very broken, once again how would a killer ever get you now if this was still in
MoM: very badly designed perk, initial release had 0 counter to that free hit it was practically BT we have now
Instaheals: Do i really need to explain?
DS: New DS actually works if you are getting tunneled, if you are doing gen or healing you aren't being tunneled then are you?
Am I missing anything? All these "Nerfs" were simply stuff to make the game even somewhat remotely bearable, The game would be way more busted if none of these things were changed
21 -
duh... that doesnt inform you of anything?? the nerfs are needed lmao
4 -
Survivors who T-Bag at exit gates are the kind of people this dude is talking about. They go down fast in chase, but when the one good survivor gets downed in endgame, they don't go for the save, but wait for you to show up at exit gate so they can T-Bag with literally 0 threat to their survival. Except Blood warden can create those glorious instances where they get their just deserts.
1 -
That's not entirely true, but it is mostly correct.
5 -
Nerfs are nerfs, regardless of whether or not they were justified.
4 -
Yes, exactly. And I would argue it's especially the old balance that caused some survivor players to get these big egos, and that is still carrying over to now, sadly. But the game's current balance isn't really supporting this anymore. The biggest problem on the survivor side are gen times now, but no one gets a huge ego from holding M1 on gens.
In chases, there are a lot of killers now that can deal even with the best loopers. Of course there are still people with big egos over a video game, which is honestly hilarious and sad when you think about it, but you have such people in any game.
0 -
That is not true at all
4 -
and despite all these things, killers still 4Kd back then, so if all these things have been removed what's stopping you from getting 4Ks now? What perks have drastically made killer harder and survivors easier, are you really admitting defeat because of something like DH? lol.
2 -
Yes survivors have ez objectives and still they have way too much assistance. Second chance perks are way too strong especially when all 4 have them equipped. And they are not even 2nd chance perks, they are a 3rd or 4th chance perks as they can use them many times during a trial.
In a balance environment, A top 0,001% killer should win 90% of his trials without camping/tunneling, just by playing smartly and planning a strategy around map control.
But that's not the case, the best killer players, when they don't play nurse, are forced to camp/tunnel early to win a trial and that's not normal and if they face a SWF, even with camping and tunneling they will still loose or end up with a draw.
When i see Otz, which is without a doubt a top 1% killer player, forced to camp and tunnel while he has never done it prior to SBMM is crazy. And he still has a hard time against potatoes that cannot loop properly...

I don’t understand why you guys on PC don’t turn the chat box off. The ratio for negative vs. positive feedback must be astronomical. It’s not worth your peace of mind keeping that on when playing killer.

Hit Validation with pallets and Dead Hard; Moris nerfed; killer perks nerfed; killers nerfed; etc…
Oh, and did you forget that a little thing called SWF was added to the game?
There’s been tons of stuff done to make life for survivors easier.
8 -
Killer Nerfs are no Survivor Buffs. Otherwise, Killers would have gotten A LOT of Buffs since the game came out.
Hit Validtion is to make the game actually functional. Especially in regards to DH, which was bugged for years.
And SWF... Come on, it was planned from the beginning.
1 -
Do you think that how DH validation interacts with certain Killer powers is fair currently?
0 -
Yes. If you swing into a DH, it is your fault. You should always expect a DH, especially now that it is actually working as intended. I started playing when DH was working properly, so for me, it only reverted back to this state. So it is not entirely new.
The only Killers I somewhat play on a regular basis who gets hindered in their power by DH are Nurse and Blight and you wont have that many problems, even if you miss a swing/go into fatique against a DH-User. They are S-Tier Killers, after all.

Can I link you a video that explains it better?
0 -
Sure, go ahead.
0 -
Do their egos bother you that much? If they want to think of themselves as gods for escaping as a SWF against trickster on haddonfield then let them. Type gg, go back to the lobby and take comfort in the fact the next match is statistically unlikely to be as unpleasant as that one.
0 -
End game chat should be just kept hidden and never opened. Otherwise you’ll get very frustrated since you’ll keep reading same complaints over and over again, regardless of how you actually played your matches.
0 -
I think this video explains what I'm talking about better.
4 -
Eh. Sorry, not gonna watch it. I have seen a Tweet of that guy, complaining about Healing Builds just today, while he did not realize that 2 Survivors healed another Survivor on the ground, which was the normal healing time.
0 -
Good thing im already humbled by my own general ineptitude
0 -
I think he makes good points.
He basically says it interacts with 40% of Killer powers unfairly and gives examples. I think it's worth a watch.
5 -
Yep even trutalent said he wants to stop playing killer. I want to see our mmr or go back to the old rank system
1 -
Because survs were 100 times more broken on release anyway. If you watch gameplay from release and tell me survs who could insta fast vault was balanced ur a survivor one trick. Boon totems in their current form are a huge buff to survs. They can replace hexes and add AOE to parts of the map as many times as they want because killers cant break totems. Survs have been the overall dominant role. Not to say killers dont have broken addons and what not but every killer that at one time was considered "broken" has been nerfed or reworked. The only buffs killers in general have gotten are things like decreased pickup and hook times. Every time killers rely on a perk it gets nerfed meanwhile i can name like 8 surv perks with no cooldown and no downside.
2 -
If someone honestly thinks BHVR has made this game killer-sided they are very delusional.
5 -
I mean, I have already seen one very stupid take from this Content Creator. So they either used this Clip I have seen to lie about an issue which is no issue (healing Builds) or they were not aware of it. Either of those does not really want me to watch videos which most likely have an opinion I get on the Forums already for free.
Would be great, maybe his bias will get less over time.
But, I am just curious - what would you do if you are able to see your MMR and see that you are at a low MMR? The excuse that the game becomes hard at high MMR (as it should be) would not count anymore.
1 -
me too. But I feel like that's not gonna happen.
2 -
Did I say that? Or why did you bring this up without adressing any of my points?
1 -
Why hide rank, unless it’s because it’s not working. Show the rank /mmr. Let people know they suck… instead of boosting them with a false sense of accomplishment with the grade system
1 -
I mean, I can understand why they are hiding it, because it would just become the same as Ranks - as long as you are not at high MMR, your opinion is not valid. Same with Ranks, on the one side they said that Ranks did not matter on the other hand, if you did not agree with someone, they said "You are not Rank 1". I mean, I even had to post a Screenshot that I was at Rank 1 and STILL someone said it might have been fake, despite my name being the same ingame as here.
Would be the same with MMR. Probably just more pointless discussions, why person Xs opinion with 1800 MMR is more valuable than Person Ys opinion with only 1600 MMR.
The only amusing part would be if many players, who claim to be at high MMR, are not actually at high MMR. But thats about it, there would be more negatives than positives. (Personally, I would like to see my own MMR, just because I am curious, but I also know games where Ratings are open to see for everyone and sometimes you get harrassed just because you are not as good as someone else).

Idk if id say all that now we just got a dead hard buff lol
1 -
I am pleasantly surprised he mentioned Blight and dead hard. Before people who mindlessly used their dead hard in the same direction as your lunge or into corners would get hit if you held the lunge out because blight's lethal rush hitbox lingers. I've had several times now where someone who misused a dead hard against my lethal rush gets away with it because validation stops the lunge.

You have to remember most of the people whining about survivors being op didn't actually play back in the day when survivors were actually op. Killer has never been easier to play than it is right now but if you don't 4k every game its a feelsbad and need to go make posts on the forums.
2 -
Survivors have never received an unjust nerf. Everything that's happened to them has been for better game balance. Unlike the killer nerfs, which just happen because people don't want to learn counterplay and DC all the time.
4 -
What's changed is players have improved massively over the past 4 years. Look at year 1 DBD no one knew how to loop, no one knew how to be efficient, no one properly knew the map tiles. This is funnily enough how killers managed to 4k back in the day because no one knew how to properly play.
3 -
The game is, was, and always will be casual. There is no attempt at actual balance and they just slap perks on as band-aids for poor design decisions.
1 -
and they are still at am advantage.
0 -
The game wasn't designed around SWF since the beginning. Without comms, (the way the game was meant to be) killers could actually play the game instead of having to camp and tunnel every game.
0 -
Why is it an ego thing now? Most people are just trolling as survivor and you let them get under your skin so bad u wrote a forum post about it.
0 -
maybe cuz they have and still have million of op broken things ? MAYBE
1 -
Maybe some survivors do have egos (SWF teams), but killers can have big egos too (like when they don't 4K).
0 -
I love pixel bush but this video was really dumb. All of the things he mentions are super niche scenarios that don't heavily affect gameplay. Most of what he says are things that have been in the game BEFORE the validation as well. (i.e demo shred, pig dash). Everything in this video is either bugs that have always been around or the bad feedback from attacks that missed anyways. Another note is that he never shows proof for more than 1 of these, yet rants about it anyways as if it were true.
0 -
Well you never see a humble person calling another guy egotistical
0 -
not that hard to understand. survivors make up the majority of the playerbase so you shouldnt be surprised.
1 -
On top of that killers had old Ruin which slowed down gen progress regardless of the killer's input AND it still allowed gen interactions so killers were able to use it with PopGoesTheProgress slowing things down dramatically whereas new Ruin by itself does nothing and has no synergy with Pop. That was a huge change.
And then there's the other fact you named which is most people have learned how to loop by now.
As a result killer gameplay -on a high level of play- is in a terrible spot. Survivors don't mess up any loops, don't fall for mindgames (and use stretched frequently to literally look over loops) and they know all killer power weaknesses.
It's just common sense that it's neither fun nor "easier than ever before" to verse 4 survivors that know what they're doing as opposed to let's say 2018 DBD where you would -even at rank 1- verse maybe 1 strong looper and 3 potatoes and maybe 1 competent squad per gaming session.

Like what happened to Spirit

He's also a twins main and something the twins have done upon release is ignore Dead Hard entirely when victor pounces, did he make a video on that as well or?
