Why hide MMR?

I understand the reasoning of preventing the "my MMR is x higher than yours sou your argument is invalid" but how to view your MMR was leaked days after it was released. Or was that patch out.

    I've seen plenty of people tanking their MMR, so it is all really a waste of time. I've seen SWF who refuse to leave after opening the gates. I've seen killers who hook everyone once and let everyone go.

    People don't want every game to be sweaty, so they tank their MMR in order to get back to comfort play.

    Personally I think they should show rating brackets on the endgame screen instead of everybody’s Grades which are a lot less meaningful. There are a lot of posters who still seem to think Grades determine the matchmaking and that’s a direct result of them still being in the endgame screen.

    Because they cannot be held accountable if there's no proof regarding how good or bad the current matchmaking is.

    But by going to the code we can see it
