BHVR will NEVER balance the game

  • They don't know how to properly play their game at a high skill level
  • It has been 5 years and nothing has changed, i mean the changes they brought to the game are meaningless balance wise
  • The global game design will never allow a real balance, either the survivors won't be able to hold any chase and it will be a bad experience for them, either they still have the features to hold a chase and it will be a terrible experience for killers
  • Mind game is almost never involved : looping is a dumb mechanic, no need to brain, just know the timing, killer can try to mind game but it won't bring anything positive most of the time as survivors can see most of the killer's moves with the 3D view

That's the reality. BHVR has never balanced the game because they know they cannot do it as it is impossible with the current design. They just don't admit it.

Yeah, the Hatch change (if that is actually the final version), kinda leads me to believe that they don't understand what they're doing with their asymmetrical "Survival" Horror balance as it makes match outcomes more binary with a more strict "You win"/"You lose" presentation.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't like how Keys interacted with Hatch before (when Survivors were in the lead), but if you had a Key with previous Hatch you had a "well, the Killer is too strong, time to run" option that wasn't restricted simply to the last Survivor.

(Similarly Killers have a "well, the Survivors are too good, time to camp" which unfortunately is being put to use even if the Killer is "in the lead")

During the week end, the vast majority of trials are a camp fest. Killers don't play, they just camp without moving unless someone tries to unhook.

I know they can't play properly as they would loose.

Well everything is broken in this game. BHVR succeeded to fail in pretty much everything concerning the designs.

    • bad loop designs
    • too many pallets
    • too many jungle gyms
    • OP jungle gyms RNG spawns
    • killer camp = rewarding
    • killer doesn't camp = loose
    • hold W meta too strong
    • many maps too big
    • gens too fast
    • map control is impossible
    • hit'n run pressure impossible

Well the only good thing about the game is the art design, that's all, everything else is below average. They have gathered all the mistakes you can make about designing a game. They have done even more mistakes than TRS did with Evolve.

The one thing I would for sure not change is generator repair speed. It's not an interesting thing to do, and you can lose your gen progress in many cases because of certain perks. If you feel like gens are being done too fast, then maybe you should recommend another main object for survivors besides gens.

Hatch as a fallback mechanic, not just for the last Survivor, though requiring a Dead Survivor first to even start being possible to open. (Preferably let the Dead Survivors have agency in helping their team "open" the "Hatch").

Then you can play around with Gens and secondary Objectives.

The game will clearly never feels fair for both sides.

There are some games that gives you this "fair" feeling even when you loose of miss a shot.

DbD will never be able to do that as it is always unfair.

I mean most chases don't feel fair. You loose time not because the survivor outskill you but because the design force you to loose time for free, without any skill involved, unfair. But same for survivors, sometimes you get hit because you are on a dead zone where there is nothing you can do, unfair.

You get a free hit if the killer is camping th hook, unfair.

3 gens are done during the 80 first seconds of a round, unfair.

The global feeling i have when playing is how unfair the game is.

maybe it's not really meant to be balanced?

I think DBD is more of a platform for storytelling than it is a competitive game.

I mean, the game, when played in a meta way, is usually less scary.

a facecamping bubba will basically never be scarier than an insidious blight/legion, for example.

    I don't know, that's just how I see it.

the game really could use a few balancing changes tho.

Нужно сделать так что бы способность убийц возле крюков не работала

Так как на данный момент кемп стал в каждой игре как и туннелинг

    Думаю вот он переломный момент

It's because the devs are incompetent, they barely even play their own game. Their priority is making money, which is why more effort goes into making cosmetics than more bug fixes, balance changes or quality of life changes. The only way this game would ever become somewhat balanced is if either the entire dev team was replaced, or if a different company took over the game, but that's never gonna happen.

And since there are 4 survivors to 1 killer we don't need to guess which side the devs are going to favor.

Я согласен. отказ от дешевых стратегий в любом случае сделает игру еще страшнее. (сделано с помощью Google Translate, извините)

I agree. stopping cheap strategies keep the game scarier anyway.
