How about we get a dead hard for killers?
40 sec CD, if you miss your basic attack it's instantly reset, you lose no momentum, and suffer no cooldown.
Fair is fair, yeah?
Edit : just buff unrelenting to do this. No new perk needed. Easy counter play to Dead hard, yet fair because there could be 4 dead hards and only 1 unrelenting.

You would just lunge to gain distance

Sure, why not. That's how dead hard is used, why should it be different for killers?

Does this count for lunges or only basic attacks (the ones that can trigger a grab)

It would be a much stronger unrelenting but on a CD. Infact just make that unrelenting and don't even make a new perk

Both. Yolo. Dead hard as multiple purposes, so should this. Fair is fair.

Sounds like you're looking to buff Coup de Grace. (Which actually might not be a terrible idea, Coup de Grace doesn't seem like a very good perk. 🤷♂️)

I would say coup should instead give a pasive bonus to lunge atacks each time a generator its finished...that would make it much more usefull in general...perhaps +2% per generator? or would that be to small of a bonus?

I don't know if 2% is good enough to too low, but I kind of like that idea. It would be kind of like Fire Up for lunges.
Another option would be detach it from generators entirely. Just make it so that every so many seconds (whatever timer makes sense) your next lunge is X% longer. This one would be weaker than the above in the 1-2 gen stage of the game but stronger in the beginning.

Well I had an idea similar to this (exactly the same actually in November of 2020 before coup de grace existed) and it seemed that the reception of having no attack cooldown on a 40 second cooldown would create a very strong and versatile perk that pretty much would break balancing to just have be on a 40 second cooldown due to its emergent properties and strength
Being able to have a double lunge due to no cooldown on the end of the first lunge drastically increases the power of killers at loops and forces survivors to play much safer because of only 1 perk that doesn't demand much from the killer is a bit overtuned
I think the devs already played around with this idea to create the perk coup de grace which is balanced out by its massive limitation (I still like to think I might have contributed to the idea a bit)
So its unlikely they would make such a powerful perk which is effectively a straight upgrade to another existing one and buff wise they seem happy with having this kind of power stay behind a large requirement like a gen being completed per massive lunge

If anything that would make coup a better perk in general, the token idea seems way way WAY to useless in the long run

I could maybe see the +X% lunge per generator completed idea working if X is large enough. The longest part of the game is usually the 1-2 generators left phase, so by then you have +3x% or +4x% distance on lunges. If X is really big, say 30% each, then you're looking at lunges being 90% or 120% normal distance which is a really big reach, and that would be on every lunge attack with no timer. Make X really, really big and the distances can be pretty crazy.
Even then, lunges are still potentially more easily dodgeable then the quick attacks, so I'm not sure at one point you get diminishing returns on the extended lunge range. Either way, though, anything that lets you get lunge benefits more often than the current version would be a big improvement.

Killers already have a second chance perk - NoED.

While something like that might be nice, History says: nope.
The closest to a killer-based DS was Coup de Gras, a perk nobody uses because of its outrageously useless requirements (one per gen finished per use) and activation (automatically fires off on your next lunge), but ALSO Coup de Gras actually got nerfed before release. It used to give you 100% more distance and it got jacked down to 60%.
It is safe to say that any perk that provides a buff to the killer's baseline abilities will be saddled with copious requirements, cooldowns, limits, and then STILL probably get nerfed before release.

Here's a better idea, Survivor dead hards to pallet, killer dead hards through pallet stun. Everyones a nurse main!!

In my past 50 games as survivor, I have never once been in a match where all 4 boon totems were active at the same time. Even were it to happen, all you would need is one totem unsnuffed for NoED to proc. What you are suggesting is a very unlikely scenario as a counter to a perk.
NoED is very much a second chance perk in that it allows the killer a second chance to snowball at the end of the match. A 1K can suddenly turn into a 3-4K.

Because it's lame, same as deadhard
