Can we PLEASE remove the ability to willingly die on second hook?
Why is this still a thing? Just let the survivor on second hook stage stay on the hook until the timer runs out, so that it will at least buy the other teammates some time to do objectives. Too many of these randoms screw over their teammates just because they're getting facecamped by a bubba, and that just rewards bad gameplay from the killer. It's only around a minute, just get over it man.
It should be that the only time where you're allowed to "let go" is when you're one of the two survivors left and the last survivor needs hatch if they're getting chased.

I am sure what I am about to tell you will pop up here if this thread gets a few replies from survivor mains. You can even search past threads about this.
But the answer is simply when survivors don't have fun in a match they feel it's okay to kill themselves. Doesnt matter the reason...whether they are losing or facing a killer they don't like they feel its perfectly acceptable to screw over everyone else because they aren't having fun.

Well perhaps the whole hook mechanic should be reconsidered.
Whatever happens during the hook situation is a major issue point for survivors.
Camping and tunnelling are both linked to a mechanic that is quite frankly boring and annoying. Nothing is more annoying in dbd than being camped or being tunnelled out of a game.
I always thought that it would be much easier to be downed and lose a life, die and respawn somewhere the killer cannot down you right away so you can get the chance to reset and restart your match.
Imagine you lose a life, you are dead and you respawn in a room outside of the map. Some lockers flash white on the map and your fellow survivor can go and open one of the lockers and pull you out and back in the game.
You eliminate hooks to remove the two most hated tactic in the game, then you test what happens and buff/debuff killers accordingly.
This will never happen :)

No. I wanna get to the next match in time

Nah. Sometimes I just want to get to the next game

I don't mind stalling a camping killer as long as I can on hook and see that survivors are smart enough to pump generators but if my teammates are naturally being Rank 20s I'm gonna have to pass on the game quickly. Especially when I have Kindred. No excuse to letting me go to second stage.

It should be a choice, but perhaps they could introduce a greater incentive for hanging on 'til the last drop when The Killer is near? Something like a new category bonus "Compassionate" for those moments. They also need to decrease the Skill Check difficulty progressing; is there a reason for it?

Sure... remove the DC penalty and I'll be all for this change. Forcing survivors to stay in a match they don't want to be in is a bad idea by the way.

Yes, lactic acid

I feel like the bigger issue is that it only takes 2 missed skill checks to do it. The progress to ######### should probably be slower and ramp up.

So you only want games where they are your way in an asymmetrical game? You are delussional. "oh not another ___" *leaves 3 people alone, everyone dcs, noone plays*. How do you think would that be possible at all? I want one person to tell me how to remove it and not break the game for everyone.

sometimes there are situations where people really have to let go.

I don't agree.

If I kill myself trying to leave a match ASAP and you ######### save me while I'm in second stage I have two options: DC so you can't ######### farm me (if I feel like to do it) or I'll throw all pallets and make the match miserable for you because you forced me to continue playing in that match.

Oh I don't know. Discouraging killers from playing like total jerks is a start. And no, I never said I only want games to go my way. I was making a point as to why its ridiculous to force survivors to stay in a match they don't want to be in. I'm not playing for the killer's amusements at the expense of my misery. I want to have fun. Don't assume things I never said.

What about your teammates? The other survivors? mh? Oh yeah, it's only the killer who is wrong.

You could ask the question, why can killers DC when they're not winning, which they do alot.
Maybe the survivor can see the way the game is going, maybe they know that they are going to be tunnelled so bad, that the killer even gives up on swinging for people stood right in front of them, or they are with a team of strangers, and they are on hook with the killer camping them. Maybe they want to go to the toilet and don't want to waste somebodies time saving.

More often times than not, yes it is only the killer who is wrong in my experience. I've seen enough toxic killers in this game to make it hard for me to like it again.
