Nurse, Nurse, Nurse, Twins, Nurse, Nurse

I have always enjoyed both roles. The MMR introduction literally destroyed my Killer experience, as it forced me to use the strongest Perks just to sweat for two kills. So Killer isn't as much fun for me anymore. I still play Killer, but not as often. At first I felt like MMR had at least one good thing going for it. Solo q felt much better than before. I got a lot of different killers and honestly some pretty decent mates, but like every good thing in the world, that had to stop at some point. I don't know what MMR I'm locked into right now, but it's really hard to have fun as a survivor. I miss the days where you could just start DbD, make a fun build and have nice matches against many different killers. I haven't seen a single "low tier killer" since last month. I used to run into lovely Bubba players from time to time, but even those have disappeared lately.

I'm really happy for BHVR that this game is still growing. I think 50k people are playing on average. So the game is still doing well, even with MMR, but it seems like my personal DbD journey is coming to an end after almost 5 years.

Gonna miss you guys ( <- this is clearly a lie).

Honestly, I really haven't cared about my MMR since it launched. It hasn't really made sense for me anyway. I've had back-to-back games with the same killer where in one match the survivors are really bad and then the next match they're significantly better. So I just try to focus on having a good time rather than winning. If I lose, then I know my MMR will go down and I'll start having an easier time. If I go against a team that's really bad, I'll usually let one or two escape so that my MMR won't go too high or low but will stay in a comfortable range where I don't have to sweat. There's just no incentive trying to win every game. I don't even think you can lose pips now, so if you keep playing you'll eventually hit the 250K bloodpoint reward for the 13th. The sweat lords can enjoy their sweaty matches using the same meta #########. I'll be over here playing a variety of killers/builds and still enjoying the game.

This is ridiculous how this game has changed during the past year. I would says, the Billy nerf was the beginning of the end. IDK why, I just feel it. MMR... Survivor changed to be more "gen efficient", by doing gens literally in your face... This is used to be a horror game, but no one fears the killer. Survivors have changed. Killers need to adapt.

There is no room now for a "fun build" as a survivor you run meta. As a killer -- you need to run meta too or lose. Kinda boring.

Pretty much, at the worst scenario survivors will not waste time healing and just slam gens no matter what and killers will tunnel to get them out of the game as efficiently as possible.

That will be one of the reasons why there is so much tunneling going on right now. Many killers who don't play meta-perks often have no other choice.

That is exactly what is boring. That I have to play Meta-Perks as a killer if I don't want to leave the trial with a 0-1 kill every time.

I play Oblivious perks sometimes, just to put a little scare on the Survs. But that doesn't stop any progress, so the round is often over before it starts to be fun.

Trust me, if anything it's worse on the killer side of things.

RPD offering into RPD offering into Haddonfield offering into RPD. Endless SWF groups with meta perks, smurfing down their MMRs to berate and abuse newcomers or less skilled people. And not a game goes by without me wondering if someone is hacking. 2 gens done within the first minute of the game, 3 done before you even see a survivor.

    Ugh.

This game is like a toxic relationship that you keep coming back to.

I had a gen pop in less than 45 seconds and only one survivor was there. I genuinely have no clue how it happened as I forgot to check for brand new parts. Maybe some prove thyself was hiding in a locker nearby... Idk. My first thought was hacks, but nothing else was suspicious for the whole match.

My record is 4x Haddonfield in a row. Yeah, I didn't play killer for few days after that...

  • Member Posts: 3,294

Thing is, people say to play fun perks and just don't play to win, but IDK about that, I don't expect 4k each game, but having game with 2-3 hooks total just sucks and it doesn't really make it better that I had worse perks...

I watched a from SuppAlf and one from Tofu, those are also good. The 2 and a half hours version just convinced me I can play Nurse ;)

I had two Doctor games where I only got one hook while I was trying. On Dead Dawg... Which is my favorite map. And then I needed a 4k for a tome challenge using him. I lacked a lot of confidence so I decided to just 4 man slug them. They only had one unbreakable, thank Rngesus.

There's this scene in American Dad where a rotting corpse is driving a car with the family trapped inside, and one tells the others to fart, as that makes it smell better.

That's how I feel about Haddonfield after basically an entire day of RPD.

Haddonfield sucks, but I'm almost relieved to see it. Because it's not another game of sodding RPD.

I don't really mind, when I get it random, just ######### happens, but it just sucks to see it from offering and you know they are going to have perks prepared for that map. Kinda unfair imo

Yeah, killers can do it too, but it's way more rare than from survivors from my experience. I usually use offerings only for challenges and I used them for hard adepts.

  • Member Posts: 3,294

Yeah, I have problem with killers like Legion, Wraith, Doctor etc. that there is just limit where you can go (SBMM), when survivors just know counter-play and you are ######### unless you play around 3-gen from start of the game and some of those killers are screwed anyway...

  • Member Posts: 8,077

I honestly can't think of a single killer/map combination that would be worth the offering. Maybe something like Gideon's on Doctor, but that's all that's coming to mind.

At best, Killers have 'okay' maps, 'rough' maps and 'swinging your mouse around like a flail of doom annoying' maps.

Hmm, so maps I used for adepts:

Dead Dawg Saloon with most killers

Léry's Memorial Institute / Hawkins National Laboratory (Stealth killers)

    Midwich Elementary School (Hag)

Autohave with ranged killers (short loops I can shoot over), The MacMillan Estate worked too, but this one is random (some are better, some are worse)

DDS was a good killer map, but there are multiple spots where survivors can put boon totems now that you can't cleanse. And it's being abused *every single game* when I go there.

Lery can be good on some killers, yeah.

NHL really depends on survivors. There are two absurdly safe gens that, if they save them until later, makes it very frustrating.

Yeah, Hag, Nurse, Freddy and to a lesser extent Demo tend to be okay on most maps because they can ignore verticality to some degree. The only real exception are certain indoor maps that glitch out Nurse's blinks.

Ah, didn't consider Autohaven as I'm not one for ranged killers. On M1 killers, I call it 'Pallethaven'.

  • Member Posts: 3,294

Most killer sided map might be Dead Dawg Saloon, there is just one annoying gen and most pallets are quite unsafe, but I still love to play that map even as survivor.

I don't really consider totems that can't be cleansed to maps balancing, that is just bug and let's hope they will fix that before CoH return.

I've seen gen rush builds in like 70% of my games as a killer and I mean real gen rush prove thyself,BnP,and tool boxes with gen speed add-ons. I already have a hard enough time trying to keep up with gens as it is but increasing the gen speed plus it seems like I'm out matched skill wise alot as well and 2 hooks later its 17k for one person the other 3 got 12kish and I made 15k. I don't get why survivors want to make the game go faster than it already does.

Nurse is the only reason i play now, after so many toxic swfs I decided to just learn nurse and it took ages but can now do something against 4man swfs that i could never do as any other killer.

  • Member Posts: 1,188

ive been having tons of variety with my games... very lucky i guess. (i do have high mmr, i play with my 4 man and we win almsot every match but still get variety, weird)

People were warned this would be the end result when you have an MMR system and only three viable killers.
