Gaming experience would be better with 5-8 perk slots

We got now x8 more perks than when DBD was born, we did not get the equivalent x8 slots, why not a few more?

what will happen in the next +5years with another x8 perks? same 4 slots?

Am I the only weirdo with these ideas?

Because if they add more perk slots, it kinda opens the possiblitu to more BS builds with more salt i think?

I can do well enough with 4 perks, either as a killer or as a solo survivor.
Edit: if devs add more perk slots they'll kill build diversity.

There’s build diversity now? 😂 I always see the same repeating builds on both sides depending on playstyle and with killer character

I think they should give each survivor there 3 teachables as a base build and then 3 more of their choosing. That was each survivor actually is a little unique as well. Right now They're pretty much just skins, unlike killers who have unique powers.

I love doing theme builds. Like captain save a hoe, these heals are fast as lightning, silent night, gen and sonic, catch me if you can copper , and I’m a psychic .

those are the most fun to me dedicating all 4 spots to one specific objective

Running common builds is boring as hell.

I think that would be too much. Imagine someone having 8 meta perks. I think 4 are enough so the character isn't an absolute superman.

As long as survivor perks are stronger than killer perks, I say no

Honestly, the only changes that could take perks out of slots are making Self Care and Ruin baseline, and subsequently rebalancing around this.

The Legion seems like a stumbling step towards Self Care becoming baseline in some fashion of implementation.

Just because their is more diversity doesn't mean you should be able to pick more.

Make builds that compliment each other, not whack every perk under the sun in, it would make the game incredibly tedious to play.

Just imagine an 8 perk Nurse/Billy/Spirit although Freddy would be absolutely terrifying with 8 perks same for Bubba.

    Not really tbh.
Make an example why it should be so terrifying

Je vais mourir! This would make me so ill if killer had 8 perks! And that would be 32 perks for the killer to deal with!

If I had eight slots, I would get really bored really fast. Limiting it to four slots makes it so you have to choose which perks you want and create a build for a specific playstyle. With eight, you can just toss on everything. There would be no build diversity, you'd be able to run all the good ones all the time. Everyone would be a hack of all trades and it would make the game feel very stale after a while.
@Peanits gets it as well :)

    No.

Max five perks... Maybe... Six perks, possibly but it's edging on no.

Seven and more? No please. This is me as a player of both sides saying no. As @Peanits said it would become stale. But also I would not want to see a Survivor running at me with all the op survivor perks, nor would I want to see a Nurse or Billy with all the op killer perks. Or all Hex Perks. Jesus no.

BBQ/Tinkerer/Bitter Murmur/Rancor/Sloppy Butcher/Nurses Calling/Stridor/Iron Maiden you could swap one or 2 perks out but the same is still true.

The devs can't even balance the game around 4 perks. What do you think is gonna happen if they add more slots

@Powerbats, don't you see? Only survivors can have overpowered builds, tut. You should know this by now.

Nooooooooooooooooo thank you. At that point, you wouldn't see anything but the same 8 perks every match, and it would get boring as hell. 4 perks is plenty, it gives you enough to make a meme build, stealth build, meta build, altruism build, etc. You can mix and match and make every new game feel different.

Not possible. They need to overhaul the entire game.

    Haunted Grounds
    Devour Hope
    Thrill of the Hunt
    Ruin
Third Seal, wait a minute, there are only 5 totems on the map....crap.

I would love more perk slots, especially for killers. (They have no access to swf cheats and cannot enhance there perks with other players)

You don't need more perk slots, you only need a good gaming chair.

But seriously though, my problem is that they are adding more perks and making the grind(that is already atrocious) more atrocious.

The best idea would make the grind more easier for both sides, so that you don't have to wait ages to have all the perks in one character.

Eight is too much. I’d be fine with five, MAYBE six perk slots.

I personally think 5 would be the sweet spot but that’s just me.

This is an idea I had a long time ago as well (so no you're not the only one!), however, it was a bit differently formatted. Rather than just giving eight perk slots, prestiging could unlock one or two extra perk slots at prestige three per character.

As an example: If you prestiged Jake to prestige three, he would have one to two extra perk slots, depending on which was implemented. It both gives more benefit to prestiging, and gives more options for builds the more experience you have (thus making the game a bit more diverse).

I do agree, regardless, with the sentiment that four perk slots vs the number of perks in game makes it a very "this is the meta, I will only run this" type environment typically. Seeing people able to diversify would be interesting.

The biggest issue here would be that it would be necessary to re-balance perks for this system, making some weaker and some stronger, or it would entirely break everything. :p

Right... Like we need a Billy with Ruin, BBQ, Bamboozle, Enduring and Spiritual Fury.

I'd like to see everyone have their default teachable perks as freebies and then be able to pick 4 more.
