I am so sick and tired of survivors. BHVR, please just nerf survivors
Not gonna say much as everyone knows it and everyone has been saying it but just had a game of body blockers flashlight savers and gen rushers with dead hard. I honestly think they should just nerf survivor. and make the maps smaller, and the gens more tight. Thoughts? Lemme know your ideas below.

Ehh, I think buffing killers would be a better way around it.

I think Sluzzy would disagree with you.

This.
There are a few stand-out perks/maps/loops on the survivor end of things that definitely need adjusting, but looking at OoO as a precedent, this will take years.
Honestly, if Wraith, Trapper, Pig, Demo, Ceno, Slinger, Doctor, PH and co all got Plague level reworks, better addons and a general buff to their basekits, so many issues with this game would fix themselves.
It's...fun to dream, isn't it?

Yes, as a solo Survivor, it isn't already hard to get people not to DC as soon as they're downed, to sandbag because you're not in their SWF, to crouch the whole game because the MMR works so well that you got paired with someone who has 2 hours played so far...
But on the other hand, I feel items need a rework. I never used the toolbox outside of sabotage daily/challenge, but it's a very powerful item with some addons...

Make maps smaller, buff SoloQ by giving them the info that SWF has, then either add a second objective or give all Killers flat out buffs
1 -
making maps smaller would be a first
2 -
the only way to do this is make gens more compact and gens more tightly packed.
also, make it so your oblivious when working on a generator. it will only be there for as long as u work on gen.
also just make them have a secondary objective. like grabbing a wrench to repair first gen. as soon as thats done u need to find another wrench to repair the next gen and so on so fourth

Ok, but you can edit your original post to include this.

"Nerf survivors" is a deceptive way to look at things, because not every method of fixing the game's current issues are going to involve "survivor nerfed, killer buffed".
In general, maps should be smaller, and survivor items could use a serious looking-at to see if they can be made less of a deciding factor in a match, but equally survivors should have more legitimately viable perk options so they aren't actively worse off for not bringing the strongest stuff, and there are some killer aspects that might still be a little bit too powerful.
In terms of specific changes, I'd personally want to see both gen speed and healing speed boosts get slowed down. Not the base time to do those things, but I feel like there are currently too many options to speed up those actions by too much. Additionally, survivor spawns should be fixed, they shouldn't spawn fully separated OR directly on top of a totem, whether it's lit or not.

I'd rather buff weaker killers since they need it and, if it's a party of survivors, inflate their MMR when picking a killer to go against. When solo queueing, use their actual MMR but, for a party, multiply their MMR by some number (eg. 1.1 to 1.9) depending on how many are grouped together.

Nerf medkits and toolboxes other than that it's ok ish although a lot of the killers could use a buff. No killer should be worse than Pyramid Head they should all be around that level except 2-3 killers that has to be stronger for the high MMR gameplay.

two killer game two game zero hook gen in 5 min so the MMR is too broken, I'm on console too so I won't tell you the difficulty

true. but i felt like i needed to make a new one

this is a thing they could to to make it less problematic. remove mmr. then id be fine probably

I would disagree.

as did I, hence these are now merged.

It's not so much size - it's density.
Some maps are larger, but have a decent amount of deadzones and areas the killer can try to herd survivors.
Others are densely packed with safe vaults into another vault into a pallet into a jungle gym into another vault into shack and then out to another jungle gym. And even intermediate survivors are becoming sophisticated enough to abuse these.
Pallets, by and large, aren't a problem as they are a resource that can be used up. Vaults remain a problem all game, and savvy survivors can turn a sequence of vaults into a pseudo-infinite that they can use every time you chase them. The best example would be the PogLog on Swamp maps or the various 'House of Pain' tiles.
It's why you see a lot of Nurse, Huntress and Blight at higher MMRs, but very few Demogorgons.

do you want me to delete this thread

This. We either have to have SWFs banned and only able to join up in a special double/triple points mode with perk rules or have Solos get free information or extra perks.

Agree and disagree.
Bodyblocking, flashlights, genrushing is all easily countered. Theyre also valid tactics. The survivors obviously arent gonna want you getting hooks because it makes them another step closer to losing. However, they cant all be genrushers AND flashlight/blockers. If theyre following you around to get a save they arent doing gens

1-2 will body block and save while 1 is the gen jockey usually

'Genrushing' is sort of a catch-all term for 'survivors beat me'. It's the killer version of 'tunneling'.
The goal of survivors is to do gens before the killer can snowball. The goal of the killer is to try to prevent this, and to execute a 'Rule of 3' snowball - having 1 survivor dead before 3 gens are completed.
'Genrushing' actually (to my mind) refers to a specific strategy of stacking a team with BNP, PTS and the like and slamming out/rotating people onto gens so fast (often at the expense of hook states) that the killer cannot realistically apply enough pressure fast enough. The 'rush' part implies a cheesy strategy that requires substantially less skill/effort to execute than counter, much like 'rushing' in an RTS.
I don't think anyone considers flashlights a problem, aside from us photosensitive types who have to go and lie down when someone is flicky flicky strobing all game.
Bodyblocking - I welcome it. Thanks for feeding me free hits. Most of the time, even if someone breaks free, I'm now ahead of the game.
The problem aspects are:
- MMR putting SWFs up against killers far less skilled than them (either smurfing or a quirk of the system).
- Stacking perks that make it disproportionally hard for a lot of the killer roster to really do anything.
- An increasingly sophisticated playerbase that even at intermediate levels knows how to abuse strong tiles to be almost uncatchable for some killers.
- Half the killer roster being sort of bad.

i agree minus the genrushing thing. Genrushing is when survivors all spread out to 4 gens at the start and ONLY do gens. No totems, no heals, no saves, just gen gen gen and leave
0 -
that is a good situation imo. thats 3 injures at the least, then chase one. Now they cant block since theyre all injured. See? not an issue, and also not genrushing because theyre doing something other than gens

Merged means that they are now both in one Thread.

Yeah I think we are using the term differently. I'm using the more 'classic' meaning, which involves multiple toolboxes and stacked 'do gens faster' perks.
What you seem to be describing is just survivors playing 'meta'. If survivors are busy faffing around with my totems, chests and things - that's usually a mistake.

to be fair nothing in this game has explanations on what they are so

I agree and disagree at the same time.
On one hand i completly give you the reason that certain behaviours and items convined become dreafull and completly unfun to play againts. But in the other hand theres things on the killer side that are just as bad.
Personally i belive the game needs a serious look at things to make it fun and enjoyable for everyone, many of the problems of the game are bioproducts of things that havent been adressed.
On one hand actually yes, survivors have some perks and items that convined are just ridiculous. An example its the stack of healing with things like medic kits and CoH (just to name two) that make hurting survivors virtually meaningless, specially againts M1 killers who thanks to the mentioned boon CoH where heavily nerfed indirectly. Other things like toolboxes and brand new parts arent any better. Add the particularly anoying/toxic players that make their mission to tilt and make killers life as miserable as posible and yea, defiinitly some survivors need a good scolding.
To start with items like medic kits and toolboxes need to be checked again and simply put nerfed a bit, the speed and security they give to survivors make many things meaningless. The speed at wich they can heal make sertain killers almost meaningless, this in turn creates a "need" to improve the way killers "kill" survivors and they many times just end relying on camping and/or tunneling wich in turn makes survivors cry for nerfs/fixes to the mentioned tactics.
Toolboxes are in the same situation, by rushing generators in a mater of seconds make it so killers are completly guted out of the game themselves, forcing them to relay on gen regresion perk to keep up and give killers enought time to rack up some hooks, and or strong perk convinations meent to down survivors as fast as posible to level up the battle field, then you have the other hex builds wich also piss of survivors because NOED to strong nerf situations.
I tink that if survivors items are brought down a notch and balanced out that will fix a lot of problems of the game, that will in turn allow killers to have more wiggle room and to be far less in the need of be extremely eficient every single game, from there the devs can focus on smaller balance issues to make sure no perks on both sides are overly power

I did not say gen rushing while body-blocking. Right? Anyway, yea I agree. but its hard as I main a 4.4 m/s killer (hag)
