Brightness After 5.4.0
Exact same happened in PTB, still not fixed. In loading screens the game is a lot darker than before the update. In lobbies its somewhat bearable but in actual games it is way too dark, im only able to see in very bright areas such as right next to light sources and completed generators

It is not just brightness, it is textures as well. Also contrasts and lighting.
Some pictures of coldwind cowshed. Of the cowshed and shack.
The Cowshed and Cowshed 2 pictures are as pig. The other ones are from Freddy (much worse).
It seems like I loaded some waaay older textures or something. Also Freddy's sleep mechanic makes all the structures brigther on coldwind.

Ngl but the last two with the pig are actually nice imo, but i can imagine that it might not but nice to play with it. Is this ony on pig and freddy or dos other killers have the same problem? Cuz i don't have tha tproblem with playing The Nemesis

It happens on Survivors as well. I played one match in PTB on The Game. Literally completely pitch black, the ONLY light source was the Killer's red stain.

And Delete Dead By Daylight
When ur will run dbd again, ur settings will be refresh and it will be good, it works for me.

Can confirm, fixed for me as well. It sucks to lose settings, but better than playing in darkness.

Can someone show me a screenshot of their settings before they applied this fix - if the fix worked for them? That would really help us to see exactly what caused the issue.

No in-game settings seem to have any impact on this issue nor any Dead by Daylight properties changes in the Steam library (DLC's, controller, launch options).
Deleting my local Dead by Daylight data fixed that problem for me too and I've made a copy of them. I can share them if that would be helpful,

Did you make a copy of them prior to making the change? As that is what we're looking into.
(and I mean in the appdata folder, the setting that are in there, not the ones shown in game)

I can only tell that I don't have any problems on Ultra settings with RX 6700 XT.
