is Scourge Hook: Gift of Pain worth using?

I mean as always it depends on what your using it for. I like it as a little anti-heal/gen that I can stack on my legion with the artist hook perk

No, that perk is really bad.

-you can get screwed by RNG and just have all hooks on one side of the map.

-if survivor doesn't heal, it's just useless perk.

-it encourages survivors to go for protective hits, so they remove their slow and that is something you really don't wanna as a killer, if they have CoH and let's be honest, you have CoH almost every game.

Then they will just not heal and then your perk and your power are useless.

The perk needs buffs. If it just gave forever 9% gen speed slowdown, I’d expect many players still wouldn’t use it.

The other scourge hook is infinitely better

I like using it mostly because I've got the other scourge hook anyway, and with the right Pinhead addons it's just nasty to add even more things for people to deal with.

Assuming you get someone on the scourge hook, it never does nothing. They either face the debuff or need to stay injured. That still doesn't make it a good perk though.

IMO there is no point in using this Perk, since Pain Resonance exists. Which has the same problem of being RNG-dependant (using it on The Artist while prestiging her, so far I almost always got to a Scourge Hook), but its effect is way better than Gift of Pain.

So if you want to play a Scourge Hook-Perk, you will go for Pain Resonance. There is not really any reason why you would want to use Gift of Pain instead, unless you just prefer it for your own reasons. OR if you want to use two Perk Slots for Scourge Hook-Perks, but I dont really think that this is worth it.

    It's kinda meh.

But if you like sloppy butcher and you play a m2 killer you could concider it.

Just don't expect big miracles out of it

How much better would it be if instead of the gen speed debuff triggering once healed, it triggers immediately upon unhook and then lasts until you lose a health state (take away the heal speed debuff and only have healing slowed down by Mangled)? That way, it doesn't do borderline nothing against Survivors who are comfortable not healing and just powering through gens?

As-is, it's probably outclassed by Pain Resonance by a lot.

Wait, which is it? Are they refusing to heal to make it “useless” or are they healing and then intentionally getting reinjured? It’s not both,

Also I think the RNG concern is exaggerated, I only rarely can’t reach a Scourge Hook, especially when all four are still up prior to killing someone on them.

    It needs a huge buff.

There are two ways how survivors can counter that perk. Either don't heal at all, or go for protective hits asap after healing. CoH helps with both ways.

It's probably better to use Sloppy, no RNG there. I don't think Sloppy is good neither.

RNG is an issue, I have been using Pain Resonance quite a lot, thing is it depends on map a lot.

Dead Dawg Saloon? Yeah, it will be rare to get screwed by RNG.

Raccoon City Police Station, Midwich Elementary School (multiple floors),

Mother's Dwelling, Azarov's Resting Place (huge maps)? Yeah, it will happen often.

In its state it shouldn't really be a Scourge Hook perk, but I want it to be a Scourge Hook perk because we need more of them.

I think it should be buffed in general, to be more rewarding for going for the Scourge Hook.

what makes you think this perk is bad lol? Its a sloppy effect for free plus gen speed recution

That's easy, I don't think Sloppy is good perk neither.

And sloppy needs just a hit, doesn't matter if that survivor leaves chase, so you are going to use it way more than gift of pain. I would say on average, sloppy is going to give you more time than gift of pain.

You don't need to care about RNG hooks with Sloppy, you can use basement hook with sloppy, you can leave a chase with sloppy after first hit.

Main issue is, there are two ways how to deal with gift of pain and both are way easier because of CoH. When survivor self-heal, only his extra time is wasted, so already 50% down, after he healed, just go for protective hit, this way you can waste killer's time and you remove slow-gen effect, then you are free to self-heal again.

I mean you are right but you forgot 1 important point. Sloppy applies only on basic m1 hits. Killers like Blight, Huntress etc cant get that effect as easy as you say. So therefore you got gift of pain.

Sure its not the super meta perk of this year but its a new sloppy version which is a nice idea. Its not like this perk is making you lose this game or something so I dont mind it at all, there are far more useless perks then that.

That's true, but just because there are worse perks, it doesn't mean that this is good perk.

Sloppy is limited even more that it is suited more for a killers that don't often commit to their chases, like Wraith, or Hag. Problem is that CoH doesn't care.
