Survivors are so mad that Killers use Lightborn it is hilarious

After having constantly seen myself being T-bagged and made fun of by survivors who constantly save their teammates by using flashlights, I finally decided to say "whatever, I just sacrifice one perk slot for Lightborn if I must"... And oh boy have I had a blast hearing post-game cries from every single survivor afterward.

It's like you are not allowed to run this perk, else it is not fair for survivors or something. Seriously, survivors get so mad seeing me run this perk, even when I don't get any value out of it if it so happens that survivors don't bring a flashlight with them or can't find one in chests, they still find a reason to make a case how I am a bad killer for bringing such "useless" perk. What's more fun, if I say "I just like to run it even if it does not bring any value" - they still try to make a case how I don't know what I am doing and will go great lengths trying to convince me how I should not use it. This happens almost every single game in high MMR.

What I find the most fun is when they chase you all game with their flashlight and click to get your attention, you down their teammate and they go for that flashlight save. And they then get downed because they didn't expect your Lightborn :D

Prime example of what? I really don't care if you use Lightborn. Just questioning if that's really High MMR.

Ummm they were making a valid point?

Plus I don't think they're a survivor main from what I've seen on posts either so you don't make sense man hahaha

I mean killers at high MMR get hit by flashlights just as much as anyone else. If not more so to be honest. At high MMR you meet more SWF groups and you know they like to flashlight the hell out of you. Can't blame him/her for using lightborn.

Used it myself few times but figured ill just deal with the flashlights or skip lobbies that have more than 2 of them. High MMR doesnt mean killers are immune to being blinded and SWF groups always find a way to bully you somehow with them.

Because if you're an actual High MMR killer you want them to do flash light nonsense. Loses them distance in chases since you can just hear where they're going by using sounds. They're better off running immediately after doing a pallet stun, etc. Also you have pepegas trying to do flash light saves that means one less survivor not doing a generator.

Using a Lightborn is kinda questionable when there's counters like looking down or if they found out you have Lightborn they're just back to being efficient by doing Generators. Franklin's is better since it potentially makes their movement predictable and more risk for them.\

Either way I don't really run any of those perks.

Everyone should be allowed to use whatever perks they want to. If flashlights annoy you best cure is lightborn. Is it as good as other perks..no not really but it is damn effective. I personally use franklins but i mostly dodge clear SWFs with 4 flashlights anyways.

Fair enough. I'm skeptical about High MMR in the forums either way.

How do you know you're high MMR?

Commercial: Are you tired of flashlight saves? Use the biggest waste of a perk slot, Lightborn.

I know it's like Lightborn should never be used or someone is a bad Killer for using it.....I use it whenever I see a flashlight in a lobby because I have been blinded at wierd angles or through solid objects that I'm sick of it.

You don't. Whenever someone says they're high MMR, they're just making it up. They have no idea what their MMR is or whatbthe MMR of their opponents are.

What I dont get is all these arguments saying well because of XX that's one less survivor on Gens.....one less survivor on a Gen means nothing in the game when you cant stop the other 3.

Oh I'm aware of that. It's just everyone on these forums complains so much about everything, and how the game is so hard, yet they all stay at high MMR, supposedly.

If I see one flashlight, I don't add lightborn if I see 2 or more I will use lightborn. I don't like the locker blinds or if I have my back to them and still somehow I get blinded. Besides I like it because I can track the survivor's aura if they use mine blast. Also makes fireworks completely unless

It is nice being able to just pick up anywhere and not think about it every now and then.

Lol, everybody talks about flashlights here, but honestly I’m half tempted to run Lightborn just so I don’t have to be blinded by Blast Mines and Flashbangs. I can usually avoid being blinded by flashlights when I pick someone up by looking at an obstacle when I do it, or looking at the ground while carrying someone, but it’s a lot harder to not get blinded by a well placed Flashbang or from a Blast Mine if you kick a trapped generator. It’s not even that those blinds make that big a difference in the match, it’s just a few seconds lost, but it does get annoying when it happens multiple times in a match. Again, not saying Lightborn is top tier or anything, but it’s nice to imagine not dealing with those mines and grenades. 🙂

Personally though when I actually run Lightborn I do it as a gimmick build where I’m all in on punishing flashlighters. Typically it’s along the lines of Lightborn, Brutal Strength, Fire Up and Agitation or Endurance for instance. I get pallet stunned, break the pallet really quickly, and if they try to blind me while I break it it’s a free hit. If I go with Agitation over Endurance or Fire Up it’s to get free hits on people trying flashlight saves while I carry someone since it lets me outrun them. Obviously this is a total gimmick build, but the free hits on flashlighters is hilarious. 😄

I get blinded sometimes depending on killers I play but I am not sure why people find flashlights so oppressive unless they play hag, wraith or something.

Most of the time I get free hits on flashers.

This sounds to me like you're describing people genuinely trying to be helpful...

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that I don't believe you're a high MMR killer. I do think it's possible to have a good idea of your MMR, I just don't believe that yours is correct.

ITT Survivors desperately trying to stop people from using Lightborn by passively-aggressively saying they 'must' be low MMR, whereas the normal party line is about how 'impossible' it is to know anyone's MMR.

Knowing your approximate killer MMR really doesn't take a genius. You basically just look at your kills when you play in the evening. If you average around ~2k during the day, but ~3.5k in the evenings, you're probably decent. If you average ~2k during the day, but ~1k in the evening, you probably run Lightborn.

I use Lightborn 100% of the time. Saves me any annoyance. I used to just counter flashlights by looking away and facing walls, but dedicated servers messed something up and once survivors started getting blinds from outside my FOV I decided Lightborn was my new best friend. Every once in a while someone uses Blast Mine and I get to saunter over to the bush they're crouching in and get a free hit.

I'm on console with messages turned off, so I have no idea what the survivors think of my stupid perk build.

Several people in this thread have shown us legitimate and mature ways to talk about why they always or sometimes run this perk. Why couldn't the OP just do that?

I’m sorry to say this but anyone who says a killer is bad for using Lightborn is full of it. Lightborn works wonders against squads with 2 more flashlights. Especially if at the beginning of the game you pretend like you are looking down or trying to avoid getting blinded. If you know what you are doing, you will get them to waste time and you will get free hits/downs later in the game. The only reason a survivor will convince you not to use it is because they want to click at you all game and teabag at the gate.
