Why do I enjoy Solo Queue?
It's apparently a hellish landscape, where only the other 3 guys (obviously SWF) perform well!
For real, though, I don't understand - I've never found it as bad as people say.
Occasionally, I'll get games that I feel are 'impossible' to win (sometimes I do manage to win/draw in these games), but I feel that's just the way it goes in a game designed with so much built-in randomness.
A lot of the topics I see regarding Solo Queue almost seem like the posters are playing a different game.
It almost feels like people want to remove the 'randomness' from the game and just have everyone, Solo or not, pumped full of free info and running meta.
I'm not a pro or anything, but I think Solo Queue is way more fun than SWF because of its random nature - Most of my matches are dynamic when compared to each other and I honestly think that's why people that play (and like) Solo, do so.

Solo is the pure DBD experience. Unpredictable, frustrating, and, triumphant.

Honestly, Solo and Killer (The Unholy Duo) keep me coming back!

Solo is not as bad as everyone thinks it is, especially now with the new matchmaking. MMR was probably the biggest buff solo players have received. If you're a good survivor and equip at least one coordination perk (Kindred, Bond, Empathy, etc), you can win (have 3/4 survivors escaping) more than half of your matches.

For sure - I actually think Empathy is way more valuable than some people make it out to be.
I'd like to note, though, that there are also times in Solo when you should just slam that last gen and bounce, ignoring that guy on the hook.
Discerning when to make a decision like that (among many others) is probably why many people struggle without direct instruction/communication.

I agree. A common thought that people have is that being a good survivor means being good at chases. Lasting long in chase is helpful, but it isn't nearly as important as decision making - knowing when to go for unhooks, what gens need to be prioritized, keeping track of where your teammates are so you don't take the killer to them, knowing when to go for the agro when you haven't been hooked yet and your teammates have, etc. A 10 second chase in the corner of the map sometimes is more valuable than a 60 second chase near a gen that is about to be done, and that seems to be the knowledge people are lacking.

It depends but I feel I have more nice game than bad ones. The bad ones are cool for the Killer at least.
Most of the time, I have decent teammates and decent Killers. But it happens once in a while to have that teammate who hide the whole game, that teammates who finish a generator right next to my hook, letting me go to second phase before unhooking me, etc.

Playing killer is the most fun but stressful. Playing SWF is like going into Options, switching the difficulty to Very Easy and then swtiching all the cheats on. Solo is the best experience - I'm probably going to die, but I might not.

Solo que is feast of famine. It’s lead to some of my most fun games and made me want to quit in the same day

I actually agree 100% with the original post. I would say 75% of matches are completely dynamic matches and 25% of them are me running around with an egg on my face ...

I enjoy it because it is random and it feels nice when complete strangers protect you and you protect them from time to time.

SoloQ is nothing like as bad as people say. There may be one or two trials where you might question the sanity of those around you, and sometimes moments when you're definitely feeling rightfully judged (my apologies to the Yui I attempted to revive at RPD, but instead slammed the pallet next to her, then slide over it an back again, before reviving her yet ultimately getting is both killed - bloody prompts!), but in actuality it's random, entertaining, creates some amazing stories and really does add much more to the game.
Those who enjoy swf then I'm happy for them. It's just the brief experience I had broke any immersion and the game was too predictable. SoloQ is more fun for me.

Your first mistake was thinking any of us here actually represent anything more than the collective complaints of tons of bad matches 😉 that's all this forum is, just a giant "I lost and it's all unfair!" In a few new ways per day

I enjoy the randomness, sometimes you play with absolute potatos and sometimes you get 3 god-survivors. If i play with my friends we usually stomp killers, and that feels kinda broken

I'm flabbergasted that there's a decent number of Solo lovers, here!

I've been enjoying solo q much more since I turned crossplay off a month ago. Way less potatoes at night time.

Glad to hear that things are looking up :)

I just came back after a four months away and my solo queue games are worse than ever. Some games are literally over within the first 30 seconds. My teammates have absolutely no ability to stay alive in chase, and they're downed as soon as the cool down between swings is over. People will NOT to gens, period. I regularly have games where all three teammates just stop playing with anywhere from 1-3 gens to go.
I started keeping track because I wasn't sure if I was just being negative or the games really were miserable, and in nine games, the killer got 4ks in seven of them. That's not even close to fair or balanced. Please tell me what the secret is to getting teammates who are willing to play and even halfway competent, because the devs seem to be hell bent on driving away solo players. I know that if I can't find anyone skilled to play with, I am just going to be done with this game. This isn't a BR, it shouldn't be near constant losses, especially when this game has a grey area and SOME survivors can escape.
