DH Rework Idea

Remove the hit invincibility

Allow it to be used when heathy

Reduce cool down to 30/25/20 seconds

This would remove hit stuttering and remove its strange interactions with certain powers (like traps or insta downs). With these changes DH will be reenforced to use for distance rather than dodging hits.

    I'd make it so it:

    • wasn't an exhaustion perk
    • was able to be used while healthy
    • had a 50/40/30 second cooldown that you got back while running
    • had no invincibility frames

    That would do 2 things.

    1. It would create a stronger perk that would also allow you to also run an exhaustion perk
    2. Removes the negative impact that validation had on the perk (that being that the hit validation EATS killer powers while a normal DH does not).

While DH is one of the only perks that you can use to counter nurse, it's also creating multiple interactions that just aren't fair for multiple killers that never had an issue with DH pre validation (Blight rush, victor pounce <- this is a major issue on an already terrible to play killer, huntress hatchets, nemesis tentacle <- this one can be crippling, billy chainsaw, killer lunges with Coup de Grace, Oni demon dash, etc). It was always a feelsbad to be exhausted on the ground, my friends and I dealt with it constantly. But at the same time, there's no reason that killers should be punished in more detrimental ways at all, especially when it affects killers or perks that are already struggling to see use.

    1. in some cases you can keep dying in the DH animation
    2. that cooldown is so broken if u combine it with 4 vigils and why you need to dodge hits being healthy? Just do a 360
    3. Why remove the fun quitting that you cant pass thorough traps
    4. DH now if fine if u are a good killer ur just gonna respect the dead hard

    1. If you die in the DH animation it means the server said you deserved it?
    2. yeah that cooldown would be broken as an exhaustion perk
    3. I agree that you should still be able to DH over traps, but the I frames need to go. Hit validation has been causing way more problems and incredibly unfair interactions for killers. If not removing the I frames, it should say "immune to basic attacks and traps". It's a reasonable compromise and it also prevents the problems that come up with validation on powers
    4. If a perk has a huge impact on the way that you play the game and how you handle a chase with all 4 survivors every game, then that would imply that it is in fact not "fine". That being said, other perks are just incomparable so what's the point?
