Sadako will not Be Anti-Loop Killer (Hopefully)
I love Ring movies and i love Samara (Sadako). I am so excited for her, great teaser btw! I was planning to p3 and main Spirit because she is closest thing to Sadako. But after i saw Sadako, now i am waiting for her.
Sadako has chance for being different type killer. She can teleport like Demo or Freddy, this will be her map mobility power. And for passive power, she can have 4 v 1 power, like Pinhead's box. Or maybe new stealth killer? I think she has really good potential. Hope BHVR will not make her another boring anti-loop killer.

Well tbh her power will likely be a strange parody of her movie version where it'll be mostly referential and have very little to actually do with the movie

If she's not anti-loop, she will be garbage.
Give the number of safe loops, pallets that have to be respected, and chances for Survivors to extend chases from one loop to another, to another, to another, almost caught...DH for distance, and another loop!
Every killer needs to be anti-loop or they're no good. And given Survivors act like utter scum if you get anything less than a 4K (and scum if you get a 4K); getting that 4K at least means you can deflect the whining with 'At least I won'. So there's little incentive to play weak Killers.

It sounds like they want to introduce a completely different type of power, from how they've been talking about it. Also, Sadako seems a frailer killer, so I wonder whether her whole style will offer a new dimension to killer in the form of curses?
If not, my moneys on a power like Plague or Cenobite, involving a timer that makes survivors far worse the longer they leave it.

I just hope she has no hexes, given how useless Hex perks are for Killers now that OPTotems exist for Survivors.
Trust DBD to take a Killer mechanic that barely had anything useful for Killers, and make it something completely broken for Survivors. 🙄

What if there are TV on the map she can TP to? Like Pig has the jigsaw and Plague has the fountains. Or even Nemesis with his zombies. Or Pinhead and his box.

My guess she will be a mix of Pinhead box and Demogorgon portals, she will have a secondary objective around the VHS tape and teleport around screens/reflectant surfaces.
For perks I suppose she will have a scourge hook one and at least one Hex, the whole Ring franchise being about a curse it makes sense for her to have at least one curse perk.

Hope for a power a bit more exotic but i also think it will be something like that.
TVs or wells around the map. A scourge perk or course. And yeah, you are cursed and have to do something to rid of it.

Right now, a lot of what makes a killer viable is either the ability to counter looping (Huntress) or negate it completely (Nurse, Blight).
I'm excited for Sadako, and I don't want her to be another Cenobite - crap, with one or two gimmicks that will get nerfed to the ground in a month or two.

And because Killers can never be powerful: Survivors can smash TVs, thereby preventing her from teleporting to them for the rest of the match. The smash action will start at 8 seconds but quickly be reduced to 1.5 seconds.
And her hex perk, like all hex perks, will be weak as heck. And, of course, over-written by the OP Survivor Boons. 🙃

I would prefer one solid power with multiple usage (like the Artist) rather than multiple situational, RNG, passive or weak powers (Demo, Pinhead, Pig...licence killer, such a coincidence)

Total speculation, but the ones that come to mind for me for Sadako would be
- The maps have televisions in places where the Jigsaw boxes can spawn. Sadako can then teleport between the television similar to Freddy's teleport.
- Sadako can Curse suvivors somehow. It could be an activated ability, but I'd love to see something like a passive ability where survivors who have her in their field of view too long become Cursed with bad conditions (some Hindered, Exposed, Blindness, see hallucination, etc or some combination). So survivors actively have to try and not look at her while doing gens and running away from her to avoid being Cursed.
- Once Cursed survivors can lift the curse by visiting a television and doing an action, a bit like Pig's head traps.
I think something like the above could work in principle. She'd have passive slowdown in that survivors would be enticed to visit the televisions rather than doing gens. And if they don't lift the Curses then if that can lead to them being Exposed or Broken then Sadako can one-shot down them. Also if the Curses include Hindered that would give her a bit of extra anti-loop in a way too.
Like I said, though, total speculation! It'll be really interesting to see what they do with her.

A power like that would be probably fun to play against (maybe not for stretch res players) but uninteresting for the killer side because it's too passive and mainly based on how survivors play.

Because we have already so much anti-loop killer. Blight is not anti-loop killer but he is still top tier. Or Oni? Demo is half anti-loop but he is okey too. Wraith is also fine. Pinhead was fine before nerfs.

Why they would do this? BHVR loves some killers and Spirit is one of them. Others are probably Legion, Trickster and maybe Blight. I am sure Spirit will be okey after Ring Chapter and Spirit is already popular.
Strong at loops but weak at gen pressure: Nemesis, Pyramid Head, Trickster, Twins, Slinger etc. I can list more. I loved Artist because she is strong at loops but she has also gen pressure too.

Blight is not anti loop nor is oni an demo wraith there not anti loop if want example you want executioner, spirit, nurse 3 is not a lot and of those 3 two are high skilled required so only 1 is anti loop artis pinh was nerfed

I have to be honest, the thought that stretched res players would be screwed by that power makes me want it even more. 😄
You have a point about her probably needing an activated ability other than teleporting to be more interesting to play though for some people. (Maybe? Hard to say without actually trying it.)

Pinhead showed that BHVR can't actually make a strong 1v4 killer without survivors hating it and it needing a nerf. At best they can add a demo/freddy style tp.

What are you on about? Antiloop means the ability to shut down loops quickly. Blights rush can do that, oni fury can do that, demo shred can def do that, wraith lunge can do that just a bit weaker anti loop but still has it.

I hope she doesn't follow the trend of the latest licensed killers, because Nemesis and Pinhead were ZzZZzzZZ af and also underwhelming. Pinhead is only kind of decent with addons and Nemesis still gives 8 free extra health states for some reason.

I think she'll have some sort of powerful 1v4 ability and teleportation. Not sure what incarnation either of those will have though.

That the ring chapter will take Spirit’s place. I know they’re similar like Bubba and Billy are to each other and I love Spirit so I don’t want that to happen.

The vibes I get from sadako is sort of a killer like mint rag hag, or rotten pumpkin demo personally. I would prefer more map control killers that don't necessarily need anti-loop because they are so efficient at traversing the map if their power is used adequately. While simultaneously not having insanely high move speeds as the cause for this map traversal.

I would love this, but remember that at the end of the movie, the only way to survive Sadako is to pass the curse on to someone else. It would be incredible if each survivor is passing the curse and in the end is sacrificed. It would put a lot of pressure on the survivors

I am still seeing Billy, he is rare sadly. But Leatherface Chapter did not hurt him. BHVR nerfed him unfairly, Billy was fine before nerf. They both had chainsaw but they are different type killers. They have not same gameplay.
Sadako and Spirit will be different too. For example
- Spirit has weapon, Sadako never used weapon.
- Spirit is phasing and hunting you. Sadako is cursing you.
- Spirit has not any teleport power. Sadako probably will has teleport power (wells or televisions).
- Spirit does not need any item for use her power. Sadako needs curse you with video tape.
- Spirit is strong from start. Sadako probably will start weak but she will be stronger when she curse survivors. Probably her power will have tiers like Nemesis & Myers.
If BHVR does not nerf Spirit again, i am sure she will be okey. Spirit is fine after nerf. Maybe they should touch MDR but except this, she is perfectly balanced.

I think that she will have a curse to cause Exhausted (better than any direct anti-loop power because Exhaustion perks are busted) and after a week they will nerf her to the ground when enough survivor heads explode over not being able to greed three loops a game with dead hard.

We need anti loop as well. The maps are full of loops. We need a killer who can deal with loops. Teleport and gen pressure. Although it would be better if bhvr could just fix the loops instead of making anti loop killers

Teleport is pointless if you are a slave to windows and pallets.
Stealth is pointless with perks and SWF that counter it.
The dev s have dug a hole and they can't get out of it unless they change things.

Could be a little like Plague even, where using the TVs clears the curse but passes it to someone else or powers her up somehow.

Stealth Killers don't work in this game thanks to SWF and perks that hard counter them. M1 killers are pointless, no one is gonna buy/play them because of bad maps and loops. Any sort of slowdown gimmick will get nerfed.
Mobility is king because of gen speed/map size and some form of anti-loop is required to end chases quickly.

Tought of that too and I wouldnt be surprised but Scourge hooks are a "Brand new mechanic™" and developers always shovel a ton of wathever they designed lately in their next updates, it happened with destructible walls, they put them in the game and then a lot of the reworked maps had way too many meaningless destructible walls especially Grave of Glenvale, The Game, Family Residence, Ormond and certain McMillan maps, now after some time the craze faded and they toned it down, new reworked maps have 1 or 2 meaningful walls.
I also expect Ring Survivor to have a Boon for the same reason.

Saduko will definitley have a hex. I can see something like plaything. When a surviver gets hooked thr Killer becomes undetecable until the totem is destroyed. Unlike plaything there can only always be one totem, for the hex.

Well guess what that's exactly what happened she's not an anti killer. Congratulations survivors you didn't want another anti loop and this is what we get? A hodgepodge of Freddy and wraith. Sure, hope you like playing against them for a month tops before rotting away figuratively aftwrwards.
And right now unless the ptb causes sadako to be buffed (which I highly doubt) this is not worth the money at all.

We have so much anti-loop killers, you can play with one of them. I am going to play with Sadako. She is fun. But she needs some buffs. I asked different type killer and this does not mean different type killers should be weak.
