New game mode
I have an idea for a game mode a think would actually spice things up.
1 killer vs 5 survivors.....
Or so they think!
One survivor, chosen at random, is actually the saboteur. A pact made with the entity in order to survive one more night...
As the saboteur, your goal is as it sounds. Sabotage the other survivors to ensure the entity gets their sacrifice. Sabotage gens, windows, pallets, trick the other survivors, and anything else you can do to make sure no one escapes the trial.
At the start of the match a random survivor will become the saboteur. They look, move, and act like regular survivors, however they have special interactions with the different objects in the realm. Survivors cannot tell which one is a saboteur, however the killer can see the red aura of one when within 8m(that way they can tell the difference, but can't track across the entire map).
Survivors do however gain a new item within this game mode, that is located in each trial. The Lens is shaped like a mirror, and if looked through can show which survivor is a saboteur. It can also be used to banish the saboteur for the remainder of the trial.
The Lens: Must be charged 3 times at different ritual stations throughout the trial. Once fully charged you can expend a single charge to look at one survivor, to check if they're a saboteur. If you manage to find the saboteur, you can use a charge to attempt to banish them from the trial. Be careful though, if you use all of the charges to find them, or if you miss your shots, you'll have nothing left to banish them with.
The Saboteur:
The Saboteur has different interactions with objects throughout the realm than normal survivors do, but they have the same animations. Some interactions look like they're just working on gens, or picking up a pallet, it'll take close monitoring to find the saboteur. They also have their own unique perks that they can choose from, each sabotaging in a different way. Each perk takes a certain amount of time to complete depending on the strength of the perk. They also come with their own skill checks, the difficulty of the skill check is also determined by the strength of the perk.
The Saboteur perks also work differently. Each type of sabotage tier is it's own perk, and the tier determines the skill and time it takes to complete. (Tier 3 being the longest and hardest to pull off.) You can bring only one of each type of sabotage.
Gen Saboteur-
Tier 1: You create a short circuit in the gen, causing a very difficult skill check for the next survivor to interact with it. If a survivor is already working on it, they receive the skill check instead. Only one survivor will receive a difficult skill check.
Tier 2: You really know how to mess with their heads... You generate a flash bang on a generator. The next survivor that interacts with the gen will activate it, blinding all survivors in close proximity for 2 seconds.
Tier 3: All their hard work ruined... Once complete, if the survivors stop working on a sabotaged generator it will begin regressing at 100% speed and provide a noise notification to the killer.
Pallet Saboteur-
Tier 1: You made them out of what?... You sabotage a pallet to make it softer, reducing the stun duration on the killer by 25%.
Tier 2: How'd this get here... Your skill allows you to break a dropped pallet. (Takes a while and Has a 120 second cooldown).
Tier 3: Gotcha.... You sabotage a single dropped pallet to weaken it, the next time a survivor would vault it, the weight causes them to break it, hindering them for 1 second.
Window Saboteur-
Tier 1: I like to watch... You stick nails in a window, causing the next survivor that vaults it to suffer from the Hemorrhage status for 60 seconds.
Tier 2: Not all windows are an opportunity... You create a snag in the window. The next survivor that vaults through is hindered for 2 seconds.
Tier 3: We are one... You commune with the entity to block a single window for 30 seconds.
Saboteur Specialist-
Tier 1: What's in the box?... You sabotage a single chest and switch The item with a small fright. The next survivor that opens it will scream, revealing their location.
Tier 2: I'm not a spy... You reveal all survivors within 5m of yourself to the killer for 3 seconds.(Has 120 second cooldown).
Tier 3: It can be undone... You complete a ritual to call upon the entity to fix a broken hex totem. (Can only be done once per match. Takes 48 seconds to complete).
Killer perks overwrite saboteur perks. Meaning if you have tier 3 gen sabotage, and they have ruin, ruin takes precedence over your perk.
That's all I have for now. Let me know what y'all think :)

As much as the game needs another game mode it will likely never happen as bhvr as expressed zero desire in ever adding one. Plus they can't even get their current one and only gamemode that they've had for over 5 years to be bug free and balanced so imagine if they tried 2 different modes my lord their brains would explode.

there definitely needs to be more casual modes that don't involve gens or hooks

Sounds kinda Sus. Let us see how matches the imposter and the killer win together. It is basically 2 killers against 4 survivors. Just the second one is an imposter.
