take off Bubba's mask against hate ok but also take off the t-bag
the t-bag is an act of toxic person, when there is a bad MMR and in addition you make yourself t-bag I find that it is also hateful

I dont agree with them removing the masks, but teabagging is not the same as masks if we go by the "hateful" logic,
6 -
I really do not think you can compare racism with teabagging - that's quite baffling.
53 -
Wearing the mask was unacceptable as hurtful. Using flashlight macros to actually hurt people by giving them seizures, A-OK.

Killers are so upset their awful cosmetic is being removed that they've started comparing t-bagging to LITERAL racism, AND it's getting upvotes.
Be angry at yourselves, it's killer mains that are targeting black folks with this cosmetic but y'all so angry that BHVR is actually doing something against harassment that you're jumping through as many hoops to try and paint it on survivors.
Shameful

It's ridiculous to call Bubba a racist just for wearing Claudette's face. He's an insane cannibal, he doesn't care about the skincolor of his victims. All he cares about is the chili he can make with their flesh and the bones he can use to create various furniture with. If anything it shows how inclusive he is in what he does, NOT having Claudette as a facemask in there would be the real racist move.
30 -
It's ridiculous that you think people are calling the character racist, it's some free crap cosmetic that literal racists are wearing and targeting people with, bubba isn't real and nobody gives a toss about his ideals, it's about the people behind the keyboard and controller.
14 -
This sums up the anger from the community.
3 -
Removing them is an act of racism, though.
9 -
Comparing acts of racism to teabagging. My god what an ascended post.
13 -
How
8 -
You're right, but you know what's sad? That those who have nothing to do with it also have to suffer by losing deserving skins because of some racists. Yes, I know you are compensated with 6000 shards.... but it's still sad :(
4 -
So they will do something about this but not the actual problem of toxic players, cheaters, hackers, and basically side shaming along with some bming meant to be toxic.
1 -
A lot of self-reporting going on in this thread kek.
9 -
Just the way the world is, unfortunately. Dysfunctional people i.e. racists in this case ruin many things for everyone. I never wore them because I always found them distasteful and uncomfortable, but I understand some people worked for them.
7 -
Its always the few who ruin it for the many.
4 -
The devs would never remove the survivors favorite tool lmao
2 -
The trolls have won, they got the big company to remove dumb, harmless skins because of god awful antics. They'll find the next best thing to be racist with knowing they can incite very drastic reactions with the game developers and the community with no considerable effort. Ez 6k shards for me though, I never even unlocked all the masks.
5 -
No ones calling bubba rascist, it’s the guy playing him.
4 -
the faces weren't removed for being toxic, it was literally racism. If you think tbagging in a videogame is of equal negativity, you should probably grow up
7 -
too bad shards kinda suck and if they really care about people doing god awful antics they would have done a much better job with developing that in the game.
2 -
You can't remove the crouch option as it's something used to avoid hatchets, for instance.
Also, this is your first PVP game? Teabagging is not "Survivor related". Every PVP game I've played, people teabag. Should we write to all companies because it's a player favorite tool?
4 -
Teabagging is basically telling someone ######### you, I'm better than you, you're trash. How is that acceptable behavior?
4 -
Not sure about teabags but I can definetly make arguments against flashlight macros as an epileptic....
I can compare feelings vs actual health issue.
6 -
Both things are in a videogame tho, so not sure how that argument work....
0 -
Don't bother, I already complained about macro flashlight clicking triggering epilepsy and was summarily dismissed. We don't have enough Twitter accounts supporting epileptics
11 -
I know a fix. I just camp the hell out of them for it...
Not sure what to do after they will "fix" face-camping. That will be an issue.
1 -
Selective treatment, including limitations, basing on skin colour makes it racism per se, justified or not being a whole different question.
3 -
One thing is someone crouching up and down, the other is equipping a blackface mask and spewing racist hate in and out of game, not similar in the slightest.
4 -
Removing all of them isn't selective though.
2 -
You just assume why they are doing it...
One is equiping a free skin and playing a videogame and one is doing some action to piss off other player.
Main point is that it's both about feelings. So I don't really get why treat it differently. Well, I am from Czech republic, we don't give a ######### about racism. We have a lot of racist jokes tho...
So what they removed black mask? If I want to be racist, I am going to be racist, not saying I am. It will just get replaced with something else. Let's say that meaning will get used by paid skin, will you remove it too? Guess what, it will be replaced by other skin.
We can switch it and play Pretty Lady Bubba while focusing only female characters, hey let's make it sexist thing...
This is just pointless change about someone's feeling. If someone wants to be toxic, they will be toxic. It is what it is.
7 -
Imagine trying to compare teabagging to racism.
Is teabagging annoying? Yeah, it can be. Is it racist to teabag? No.
Were the leatherface masks being used by some individuals in a hurtful and racist manner? Yes.
I’m not defending teabagging, but to imply that it’s on the same level with how these masks were being used for racist purposes is absurd.
3 -
Major difference between someone's butt touching the ground and racism
4 -
Well sweet, if you want to be a racist dickhead you still can, you just have one less of a thing to do it with. It is only a positive change and if you are mad at it, you are probably someone that used it negatively.
5 -
I am not mad, I have never done it and I am not sure I even have that skin. I use Granny Bubba to facecamp Bills only...
Just kidding...
I have huge issue with flashlight macros / scollwheels. That is something about actual health, but black mask used to camp Claudette? That is 100% about someone's feeling and I simply don't care about that. It's not like they can't do it anymore, they will just look different while doing it.
2 -
I love how people use the argument of "one is hurting your feelings and one is racism".
Do you know why racist harassment made with the smartface mask cause? Hurt feelings.
Hurting people's feelings and making them feel trash is unacceptable, no matter if it's done through racism or taunting and bullying.
There is also the issue with photosensitive epileptics. Apparently, people don't care about these fellows, that anyway get a huge ton of ######### on life for their condition. They don't care that flashlight spamming is a stimulus for seizures. They just say "don't be gaming if you have this condition". Couldn't I say "don't be gaming if you have this skin color" for the people that unfortunately got bullied by stupid racists? In both cases, people are suffering due to vile people, because they were born in a certain way.
But of course we only care about combating racism, not cyber bullying and straight up intentionally causing others to have seizures.
Maybe we should value combating both, just saying.
5 -
how are scrollwheels and macros for flashlights a health issue to the game lmao
0 -
I'm with ya there, but riddle me this - why was removing an inconsequential cosmetic a priority instead of addressing the hacker/DDoS situation that's so prevalent in the game? Especially when I'm being targeted, possibly because I'm a person of color, by these losers every time I stream?
Or is this all just a "look, we removed this mask! We fixed racism" move?
4 -
I am an epileptic. I can get seizures from it... That's how.
I am sure I can't get that from black masked bubba watching me on hook....
7 -
"They just say "don't be gaming if you have this condition". Couldn't I say "don't be gaming if you have this skin color" for the people that unfortunately got bullied by stupid racists?"
Do you want to actually support your stance with this argument?
5 -
Urgh, I knew that would turn up sounding bad lol. By no means do I support racism lol. What I actually meant to say is that telling people to stop playing because of a condition is as absurd as telling people to no longer play because they are getting harassed by racists.
2 -
I'd equate the epillepsy thing a little more to telling someone not to eat peanuts because of an allergy.
4 -
Except for epilepsy, straight up removing flashlight strobing resolves their issue and they can be happy.
The same way they were able to remove skins in order to prevent harassment, they should also remove a mechanic that not only is hurtful emotionally, but also physically for some.
5 -
I mean, sure. I'm in support of that.
0 -
Wait I actually agree with this what.
Yea actually removing that would be great for players with epilepsy. Can we leave the whole Bubba situation out of this tho?
2 -
Well, that is the topic of the post, but yeah.
I personally don't like people with double standards. Remove this because people are suffering due to it, but don't remove that because other people are suffering due to that. Just tell them to quit playing.
6 -
True.
0 -
While the intent behind the masks was lore-accurate (bubba wears all victims faces regardless of race) and well-intended, it's the toxic player base and racists that MADE it a problem.
Racist actions are more serious than the annoyance of crouching and flashlights. A cosmetic can easily be replaced with something else as long as the license allows it. You can't replace the time someone had to spend getting harassed by a racist Bubba with no way out besides a DC penalty.
To compare the two is absolutely asinine.
2 -
Except in both cases people had to suffer and were stuck in a game in which they were. But in one case we are talking about racism, and people like to show off their double standards. If it's suffering due to racism, it's bad, if it's as much suffering but another form of harassment, it's acceptable.
There are people getting epileptic seizures due to flashlight spammers, but they don't care, right? They should just stop playing because of a mechanic as easily removable as the masks.

Leatherface not being racist ≠ The person playing him not being racist.
