Dead man’s switch will be too strong on artist
launching crows at gens forces people off them and the fact your stuck glued onto the gen means you can’t repel or even dodge the crows to begin with
may need to be looked into

- Somebody gets downed. All survivors are alerted. The downed survivor gets picked up. All survivors can see the aura.
- Survivors on gens stop repairing for 3 seconds
- The killer hooks the survivor. All survivors are alerted.
- Crows are sent out at likely generators, making an auditory warning for all survivors.
- All the survivors are standing a short distance away, making the crows hit nothing.
- The survivors continue working on gens, having lost 5 seconds of progress instead of 45
- The bad perk has been successfully Counter Played.
Ta Da!

Every perk is better with a killer able to exploit it all the way.
DMS is a perk noone run, Now there is a killer that can use that perk.
Like Tana on Legion or plague.
Don't be apocaliptic.
Simply, if you are against the artist and someone is about to be hooked you move away from the gen prior.

Who's ready for Gen Block Artist with Thrilling Tremors, Dead Lock, Dead Man's Switch, and Corrupt Intervention?
0 -
God forbid Artist, an already hated Killer by the community, gets a Perk combo that has to do with delaying Generators
1 -
Dead mans switch op thread number 3 and counting
3 -
Do you keep track of the deadhard threads too?

dead man switch + resonans of pain, mmmm...
My top combo, played along with "furtive chase", and now after such buffs, my combo will be even stronger))
0 -
That would be near impossible

And what do you do against nurse/wraith/blight? They can very easily force survivors off gens with little time wasted.
0 -
If they force you off, it's because they're chasing you. The 45 seconds isn't going to matter unless two people were working on that generator. And if that's the case, then the perk is doing what it is supposed to do.
The whole point is to slow down generator progress. Protesting that it might slow down generator progress is a pretty absurd complaint.

As far as i heard nobody see's her why is she so hated?
0 -
Because she can't be looped like an M1 Killer

Let's look at how this will play out
The ultimate camping build
Artist with ink egg (can fire 4 crows instead of 3) and thick tar (can fire crows slightly more often)
The perks, corrupt intervention, DMS, pain resonance, one last of your choice, probably discordance to stop them finishing gens before you can get a hook.
At the start of the game you down someone and hook them on a scourge hook, 3 gens are still blocked from corrupt, the gen with the most progress explodes, the survivor on it screams, interrupting it and causing it to blocked for the remainder of DMS, so now 4 gens are blocked. You fire crows at the 3 gens on the map unblocked, any of them that are being worked will be blocked either when the survivor dodges crows or when you force them off by injuring them with crows.
All gens with progress are blocked for 45 seconds, you occasionally fire crows at unblocked gens to make sure the survivors aren't working them. Once DMS expires survivors are free to work on gens again, however in just 15 seconds you will secure another stage, at which point you will stop camping. You then chase and down another survivor and do it again, this time you have no corrupt so you will need to use you 4th crow and a bit of gamse sense or luck to know 2 gens that cannot possible have a survivor working on it and be willing to choose 1 gen that you are okay with losing (but even then you might not lose it since after your power charges you can fire at the gens you didn't fire at before, if you've already lost 1 gen this is a non issue)
If at any point you kill someone, gens will not only not be possible to work for 45 seconds but you can actively chase a survivor during that 45 sseconds, getting a hook repeating the process.
Survivors can't avoid this. If they commit the generators, you will injure them with crows, forcing them off the gen and blocking it. They can't dodge the crow either since they have to let go of the gen which will cause it to block. You ccan't leave the gen before the hook is done either because even if the gen isn't blocked, not working on hte gen is exactly what the artist wants you to do. She wants the game to stop progressing so she can camp the person on hook until they stage without you being able to counter it.
You can't just trade hooks with the person, that's just going to result in the killer getting rapid hook states and reactivating DMS every single time.
Oh and even if the survivors manage to get some of the gens done, reducing the number of gens on the map makes it even easier to do.

You can already do this with artist using nemesis. I encourage you to try it. You might get DMS to activate a few times but eventually survivors will catch on. They will let go of gens before you hook which counters pain resonance from triggering DMS. They can wait for the artist to fire crows then depending on how many she fires it's a longer cool down. Or just work on a gen that has different elevation compared to the artist like a hill or a lower floor. Maps like the game will counter this strategy.

Isn't this an anti camping build though since gens aren't being done the killer has more time to do chases and you aren't going to capitalize on the dms if you aren't actively hooking
0 -
If that's really how artist can make the perk work then artist needs to change cause we have 26 killers and many weaker killers could make good use of dms so I think it would be pathetic to don't bring dms as planed just cause one or maybe two killer could be problematic

No? If the gens aren't being done you have 0 reason NOT to camp.
The counter to camping is doing gens and leaving.
If you remove the ability to do gens, you literally remove the reason not to camp.
Normally the reason camping is a bad idea is because while you sit there for 1-2 minutes while 3 survivors complete all the gens. So normally its preferable to hook 1, chase 1 while 1 unhooks leaving only 1 doing gens at a given time.
With this build you can camp a hook, which fast tracks you to securing your first kill and because of DMS survivors aren't able to punish you for it by popping a ton of gens while you sit there at the hook
You don't need to actively be hooking to get DMS value. The DMS value comes from the fact that every single hook is a guaranteed 100% safe camp since you know survivor CANNOT punish you for it no matter what they do.

Small point, but the average time to pick up and carry a survivor after a down is more like 10-11 seconds. So if the survivors all stop working on gens when someone is downed until they're hooked it's still causing some slowdown. Also note that if they then get off the gen for any reason after the hook, like the Artist coming in sight, then the gen gets blocked as well for the remainder of the time.

Freddy can also profit from new DMS as well. He's actually the first killer I thought about when I read they'll buff the perk. I can imagine it being even stronger on Freddy since he can fake his teleportation with Class Photo (yesss, finally a build it works with!)
Anyways:
It has enough counterplay.

imagine getting mad that you have play differently against a killer at a loop cough huntress, nurse, spirit, blight, slinger, trickster, plague, pinhead, etc. I don't understand people's line of thinking when complaining about this sort of stuff, especially when you can just screw the killer out of a power with DH validated hit

I was personally gonna say that the new scourge hook would also be a really strong perk in combination with DMS. But even in that case, there's already an absurd amount of people who just let go of gens right before someone gets hooked to prevent the scourge hook from making them scream/pulling them off the gen so even that has counterplay

Twins can somewhat do it too.
0 -
OH well maybe then we get more then 3 twins players ^^ but if we look at it the biggest problem is artist and maybe Freddy but that's it no reason to srcap a good perk for the rest
0 -
It could do with a cooldown after an unhook, so you cant camp for 45 seconds, rinse and repeat. Maybe add a 30-45 additional cooldown after an unhook.

Just a friendly reminder that DMS doesn't reactivate if it is still active.
Idk about DMS in live now, but in PTB it doesn't... from my experience at least.
It also combo's well with Doctor, not for camping, per se, but with active chasing and finding survivors.

true. once I notice the killer has it (or thrilling tremors), i'll just jet go of the gen for a second before he picks up. and if i do that i can also go to a locker and be safe against bbq.

Maybe one day it'll catch up to the "Boo hoo, Dead Hard OP threads" XD

Ive got 23 in count so far.

Until it hits the "NOED is op" numbers, it ain't nothing, lol

Survivor gets picked up.
Let go of gen.
Survivor gets hooked.
Wait for birds to fly by, then get back on gen.
DMS never triggered, pain resonance never triggered, all without even using a perk or item slot to do it.
