Monstrous Shrine Rework

Monstrous shrine, I think we can agree that this perk is useless by all means. In order to make it more usable we will add following things

 - Whenever a survivor is hooked in the basement, survivors within 32/48/64m of the basement will scream.

 - Shows the aura of the basement while carrying a survivor

This is a good change, which will again, push killers to go after other survivors instead of camping the basement. We need to encourage killers not to camp with rewards for not doing so. It will decrease the amount of the Players that camp by a lot. While still not giving anything for free, since both sides have to work for their reward.

Would the aura you're shown be more impactful than already seeing the aura of those hooks?

I do like the first change, though. I'm not sure that it's a very thematic change, but it'd be a mechanically interesting one!

Yeah sorry, forgot to mention „highlighted“. Bit of a „brain out of order“ moment.

I was thinking something like 'When a Survivor is unhooked in the basement; both Survivors move 2/3/4% slower for 3/4/5 seconds.'

Make getting away harder. Though this would also encourage basement camping. Eh.

Yea exactly that’s what I want to avoid with these changes

Fair enough. I only realized it as I was typing, and added that to the end before posting. I tend to 'stream of consciousness' type.

    Edit: typos

    Scourge hook: Monstrous shrine

    1) The scourge hooks are always the 4 in the basement

    2) Kobe is impossible

    3) Accelerate sacrifice progression by 3/6/9 %

First you will have a 0% kobe instead of 3.4% or 4%. You can be sure that there will be no kobe unless deliverance.

Second you have complete control over Scourge hooks, you know where they will spawn and you know they will be immune to sabo and destruction, good for comboing with other scourge perks.

That does not do enough to stop killers camping the basement though. Especially With the hooks always spawning in the basement it will make the killer camp the basement more since the hooks are only there which is the completely wrong way. With the survivors screaming if they’re nearby it will incentivize the killer to get them aswell and get him away from camping the basement. And if he decides the basement for some reason there still will be the chance of a Kobe. My Change is way better for the game

The change is not impactful enough to warrant a place in your loadout. Unless you're specifically going for a basement build. And if you're going for a basement build you will most likely hang around the place anyways.

If you REALLY want to stop killers camping the basement, I think you have to go insanity like "show all survivor auras while a survivor is hooked in the basement".

Because, well, camping basement is guaranteed one (or more) kills and there is almost no reason to go elsewhere.

Exactly! You can't fight "camping the basement" with a perk that makes hooking in the basement more convenient.

The basement hooks are often time-expensive to reach, once you hooked in the basement you are usually going to defend the hook because it is generally a place easy to defend. If you carried MS you wanted to play that strategy from the beginning.

The basement itself is a place intended for desperate killers that are not able to pursue or defend the gens in that match.

So that would be the same as saying "bringing dead hard is for people that arent able to loop". The basement is a big part of the game and gameplay, its a place which gives the killer for once the strengh and momentum instead of the survivors. Having a basement build is fine and good for the game since its not always the same meta perks around. And survivors can easily play around the basement. Theyre getting punished for bad positioning.

No man it is not the same: DH if played well can ALWAYS buy some seconds.

Basement if not defended is a waste of seconds often.

90% of time when you grab a surv the closest hook is NOT one in the basement, unless you down a surv in the basement basically, you need to REACH the basement spending precious time.

If you are not going to defend the hook and you want to continue pressure just hang the first hook you find and keep hunting.

I would love a rework to monstrous shrine that instead gives you a notification upon picking up a survivor that tells whether you're within distance to the basement or not, while highlighting it extra bright.

In addition, this perk should turn basement hooks into scourge hooks.

In fact, if all this perk did was turn the basement hooks into scourge hooks with it's original effects, I'd run it.
