Steam Disconnection Penalty...
This may sound stupid, because people could just disconnect by disabling their connection through their pc, and not get a disconnect penalty, but would it maaaayybe be okay, if there would be no penalty through error code 8012? Because it is really annoying that you get matchmaking-banned because steam is having a stroke sometimes.
(I am not sure if other platforms have the same kind of issue when it comes to error code 8012)
No idea about other people's thoughts, but I would like to hear it.

I seem to have to say this in every disconnect thread:
It is not possible for the game to know WHY you disconnected. All it sees is 'connection gone'. And, in this situation, steam then gave YOU an error code. Not the game. To the game; a steam turning off is same as you force closing the game is same as your power going out is same as you unplugging your router is same as your cat stepping on your surge protector.
Every single one is just 'You disappeared' to the game. And it's impossible for the game to know why, because you're gone. There's 0 communication between your game and the server once you're gone.

Fair enough. However they can tell at least the difference if they disconnected through pause menu, that is for sure. But I guess it would make more people open task manager, and pull the trigger, and reload the game that way without penalty.
