Will they punish facecamping in the future?
I've heard about that facecamping at the survivor punishes the killer with generators but I need to know about if they are gonna punish facecampers in a different way.
I need your opinion for that one if that's true or they delayed it.

They said it was a valid strategy. I doubt they will punish it.

They are currently planning a concept against face camping but that might never even make it to PTB/live game.
we don’t know anything further about it, as they have said they often have various game concepts that don’t make it to the game.

Here is a quote from GoodBoyKarus summary thread for the QnA stream where they talked about it (only design phase and they haven’t mentioned anything more):
"Any plans to make being facecamped less punishing?"
Yeah, they do. Facecamping has been a thorn for a while- they don't like that it has been such an appealing option for so long. In theory, it is very easily countered, but in practice (especially vs solos) it takes a long time for players to realise the hooked survivor is being camped and they should rush gens. However, on the same vein they don't want to remove proxy camping (a killer vibing near-ish to the hooked survivor), since it's a very legitimate strategy. So getting something that doesn't impact proxy camping but does impact facecamping is very difficult. And every time they tried it, there's always been an easily exploitable way of breaking the deal.
They recently had another idea, and it's going through the design team right now. When will you see it? If history repeats itself, then probably never, but this one might be different, who knows?

Even an instadown killer can be outplayed by ignoring the hook. Facecamping guarantees a 1K at best if survivors know what you're doing. I'm just surprised enough killers are doing it that they're still thinking about nerfing/punishing it. I guess it's a great way to mine salt in the EGC if that's your deal; maybe that's who they're going after.

Ok correct me if I’m wrong but you do get punished in the form of losing a pip for hook proximity at the end of the trial.

It will take them a while. BHVR has tested multiple ideas before in the past, and had to scrap them all because of how insanely abusable they were.

If BHVR want to lose all killers and make the game even more unbalanced they should punish camping. I wouldn't even be surprised if they do something against it tbh. All i can say is: enjoy 15min queue times as survivor.😅

When did they say this? Did they say what they have planned?
I hope they don't punish facecamping. I don't do it often, but there are some survivors who are asking for it. The threat of bring facecamped is a good deterrent for toxic behavior.
I don't like it when killers do it all game for no reason, but that's already punished by loss of emblems/bloodpoints and by survivors just doing gens.

Like I've said, it's just difficult for BHVR because every single idea they've tested before was horribly abusable and had to be scrapped.

Thanks.
But... is it really such an "appealing option"? I don't tend to win games when I facecamp everyone. There are always teams who will throw themselves at the hook no matter what (especially during the EGC, the only time when facecamping becomes a legitimately good idea), but facecamping just straight-up isn't a good strategy in general. It doesn't work, in theory or in practice, unless you're up against a bunch of potatos (and if all you know how to do is camp, enjoy going up against survivors who know how to counter you after your SBMM level-up).
It can be useful in combination with tunneling to get rid of a survivor early in the game, but even that's a gamble. Three gens might just pop on the other end of the map as the survivor enters the second hook state.
Aside from the EGC, I only facecamp to troll obnoxious players. It usually means throwing the game in order to just get rid of that one guy who ######### up every one of my hooks with a flashlight, loops me for three gens, and then has the audacity to T-bag and shine his flashlight in my face at every pallet on top of it.
Other than the very occasional Basement Bubba, I don't see anyone who plays this way, either. And I don't even really see Basement Bubba all that much these days, either, probably because nobody falls for that except in the SBMM equivalent of brown ranks.

It only works good with an instadown killer. So it always be a trade.
A normal killer can be outplayed with BT and bodyblocking.

Well… I just answered the question and don’t have a strong opinion on it… it also depends very much on the execution and they already stated several attempts didn’t make it into the live game because they were exploitable by the survs..

They aren't ever going to punish facecampers, which is fantastic, because I've gone up against a camping killer 6 games in a row. Apparently that's the only thing killers do any more.

If you don't want me to camp your friend, why are you dry-humping me while I walk to the hook? Then you don't lead me away to make rescue easy, you hide, because that makes no sense. You're doing everything but setting up my tent.
When are they going to punish survivors for facecamping the hook? All you had to do was not chase me to the hook. If I have half the team, I'm staying.
