Add in-game chat for console!
So, as you guys know, there is a in-game chat feature for PC. It’s one of the most useful features in DBD. You can tell your plan to your team before the match begins, give tips to your teammates after the match, chat with your friends, etc. I think that this feature should be added to console as well. It’s not fair of PC can have it but console not.

Aslong as they bring an option to disable it, I don't know how much toxicity I could take if it was constant.

There's already an option to close the in-game chat on PC, so I don't see why they won't add that if they bring it in for consoles.

We would need mouse and keyboard support too,considering how damn slow writing on console is

I higly contest that the pre / after game chat is "the most useful feature"!
Let me tell you as a PC player, like in 80% of pre game lobbies no one writes anything, 15% something like "gl hf", 4,9% unrelated chatting ("gl hf", gossip, ppl being silly), and the remaining 0.1% is actual gameplay relevant "planing", mostly something lilke "bps anyone?", "lets all use flashes lol". I have yet you to get into a lobby where an actual plan is laid out in the chat.
In post game, you get mostly toxic/salty comments and ppl bitching with each other, some trashtalking or flexing, often nothing at all (except maybe a "gg" from some players") and quite rarely an actual civil after game dicsussion where you talk about the game, what went good and what went wrong.
So let me assure you, there's no reason to be envious here, you do not miss anything, really. Maybe console players are a little more chill so the chats might be more civil, I wouldn't know. But judging from my PC experience, the chat honestly is not worth it. The rare nice encounters cannot outshine the toxic / salty encounters imo.

Haven't used a console since Xbox 360, but couldn't you just use a chatpad that connects to the controller?
I used to use one of those and they were a lifesaver.

I understand that people can be toxic, but at least I need it. I want to discuss my plan with my team and give people tips at the end if they did something wrong. If people can’t handle some toxic people, they will always have the disable option. It’s a cool feature to have and I’m sure many other people want it as well.

Do you understand how over powered every survivor will be if comms was in this game?
Having a few matches against SWF with comms every few matches is ok but not every single match using comms is not what this game needs. How many killers do you think will stop playing killer side if comms was permanently put in this game on console?
We don't need survivors buffing anymore than what they already are right now. survivors needs nerfing.

.. they're not talking about voice chat or in-match communication, they're talking about pre-game lobby and post-game lobby text chat.

Add in-game chat for consoles or at least let us see teammates loadouts so I know if I need to bring certain perks or not.

They stated during their latest Q&A they have no plans to add the chat box or add keyboard support for the consoles.

I agreed to this, As a console Player; I don't think anyone would care too much to even use it; because how slow it can be to message other. Plus, Toxicity level of messaging will not be so great for the most part.
There is a reason I keep my account on Private, so that I that I do not get "friend request", invites and a dm about Survivors mains complaining about me tunneling, camping, and be such a "toxic" killer for not letting them have fun or Survive to win.
Plus, there was the one time I left my account open and well the first dm I got, since I was hoping for friendly players or compliments; 99% of the time, it very piss off players and well a salty player whom threatens to ban me and wants me to Uninstall my game. Dat Survivor Main was a Dwight whom literally runs Unbreakable, DS, BT, Dead Hard, used a map offering for RPD, and well, predrop pallets and terrible at looping and let's his teammates swarm near the hook without making it obvious that there were there the whole time (not on Generators).
The point is .. the game is imbalance, the Entitlement is Real and the salt is very strong to taste any good on any Bloody Party Streamers/Cakes I was offering; and having a chat system in console is not on my list of things the game needs to implement, as a priority.
