Thoughts about killer opening gate

So we all know the killer can open the gate, right? And start the EGC? The issue is doing it in any scenario (apart from all survivors hooked/dead) is going to cause you to lose survivors who skip merrily into the gate cause of the slow af timer (especially if someones dying or hooked)

What if the killer opening the gate would make it so the EGC ignores downed and hooked survivors and keeps going at Max speed? The would make the time pressure of EGC actually a threat and survivors would need to execute any plan to save survivors quickly or save themselves

I do it to get my points. Trust me, they aren't leaving. Don't worry about that. As long as you have a hook, they will come. Or at least wait for you to see them off. So polite!

I do think the killer should have more of a reason to open the exit gates and that the killer should be able to open the exit gates after X minutes into the game to avoid being held hostage by survivors.

That being said idk how you'd make it more advantageous for the killer without making it game breaking.

As we have seen with Boil Over that some mechanics just can't be allowed to be good or else it breaks the game.

Finally we'd need to change EGC to actually end the match when the time's up to avoid situations were the game can't end, like with the glitch where the survivor is both hooked and being carried which soft locks the game that happened before.

Explain how a game can be held hostage by survivors? If it's through hacks, that's an entirely separate issue. If it's because of exploits, again, entirely separate issue. Ultimately the killer has the power to decide whether a game can end or not, because the survivors could just not do gens, sure, but the killer can just kill the survivors. And the survivors can't bodyblock killers into a corner, the killer can just M1 and leave. Turn the tables though, and the killer could trap the last survivor into a corner after hatch opens and hold the game hostage for 2 hours until the server closes. And in specific scenarios, the killer could even trap all the survivors in a specific spot and hold them all hostage, like in the one breakable wall room by the bathrooms in midwich, but that's only if the survivors are dumb enough to all go in at the same time.

Survivors can locker hop inbetween lockers to both avoid the afk/stillness crows while never being seen by the killer(For example using any structure lockers such as main buildings and or basement).

Its actually quiet a common issue when the last 2 survivors want the hatch and both stay in hiding waiting for the other to die let alone on indoor maps with lots of LoS blockers with lockers next to them like Midwich/Lery's can cause this insanely easily.

The reason the killer can open the gate and start the EGC is so they can force the match to end. It's not meant to give an advantage. If the killer is opening the gate, he probably wants the survivors to get the hell out so he can move on to the next match. It's the closest thing killers have to a concede option.

Yeah, killers can open the gate to try to force Blood Warden value or something, but mostly killers are given the option to open the gate to avoid survivors staying on the map screwing around for an hour.

I don't feel killer induced EGC should work good, but it has to be possible without generators prob.

Yes, just stand in front of gate opener and press something key.
