How can Killers enjoy tunneling?
Comments
-
Real question is "how can killers NOT enjoy tunneling".
2 -
Some people just never mature emotionally. If they don't 4k every single game that they play they feel that their PP has decreased in size. And since tunneling is the most efficient and reliable way to 4k, it's a predictable end result. They don't care about chasing and having fun, for them, 4k is the only thing that brings fulfillment.

It's opposite, since all the survivors loves gen simulator and escaping at 3 minutes, if you don't tunnel out a person you have no chance to "chasing and having fun", it's literally the only option remaining to play for fun.
Without tunneling, you'll likely to get 5 gens done within sub two digit hit or so... I mean don't expect everyone to playing at low MMR, even if you are playing on extremely low MMR.
3 -
Stepped on a toe I see :)
0 -
They are terrified of losing so they tunnel at 5 gens against the most casual players
You have no idea how many people quit the game because of these sweaty losers

Why is chasing a survivor considered tunnelling? I mean i dont single out one player but my job is to kill. If i focus on one until i down them is that considered tunnelling or focusing. I down them, hook, move on to nearest player, chase, down, hook.am i supposed to run away from survivors after a 10 second chase?
4 -
If you feel better you could tunnel, but yes, it’s tunneling

If I have a choice between hitting an injured survivor and hitting a healthy survivor obviously I’m going to down the injured one. And if I have a chance to hook one survivor twice versus hook two survivors once I’ll hook the one survivor twice because that gets them closer to being eliminated which is huge.
That being said, a key skill killers have to learn is when to break off chases against strong runners. If the survivor you’re chasing is clearly going to take a long time to hit then you’re usually better off switching targets and trying to get a different survivor out of position or finding a weaker opponent to chase. Taking out the weak links first forces the strong survivors to spend time rescuing and healing them rather than being on gens. And once you’ve eliminated a weaker player now you have more time to focus on actually catching the strong ones.
So if you find yourself as a killer chasing one survivor for a long time without getting a hit, consider breaking off to chase someone else. With any luck you’ll hit them more quickly, and if the survivor you chased is particularly cocky they might even just follow you around trying to distract you instead of doing gens in which case you’re keeping two survivors off gens with a single chase.

So i should run away after a short chase? Just need clarification

I make to myself the same question every time I get genrushed and Tbagged at doors by swf.
If survivors enjoy tunneling gens why Shouldnt I enjoy tunneling or even facecamping them?
That's how the game works since MMR came out. If you don't like tunnel, easy, run DS.
5 -
I'm confused. I thought gen simulator was boring for survivors and that the chase was the best part. Tunneling is getting chased, but it's not fun?
7 -
You know, when playing a team based shooter, and I focus down the healer/support to help my team win, I rarely hear how I'd "sell my family for a win" or am "emotionally immature with a small pp" or am "Just miserable and want everyone else to feel as bad".
In every other game, people understand that tactics and strategy exist in multiplayer games, and sometimes that means getting rid of a boon by killing the survivor who brought it in, or baiting a team out of position by guarding a slug, or just trying to tip the balance early.
In every other MP game I've ever played people understand that winning is more fun than losing, so people play to win. In DbD after 5 years it seems only the survivors are allowed that, while killers obviously have some mental issues if they want to win.

I love Sweh. He's one of the most amazing survivor players I have watched.
1 -
I'm trying to figured out how is it fun to finish gens quickly and then sit in a lobby queue for at least awhile.
4 -
It does now. I'm reporting you for not letting me do gens and escaping.
5 -
No, don't report me for a completely viable and non-reportable tactic, what would I do?!
2 -
I showed you why your actions affects me and my friends to the highest order. Next time let me loop you and unhooked my friends.
2 -
When we see a sniper we tend to do our best to flanked them. I never understood the logic behind it either. Literally this is the game where I get texts and reports from other.
3 -
Right? I still remember a game I had on OW, I was playing Widowmaker and had perfect position sitting behind our Reinhart on the payload as it trundled down, safely behind the shield. I see a mercy coming in to help her team, immediately go for the headshot. Long story short, I probably killed that mercy about a dozen times until finally her team's Dva self destructed on me.
After the game I got a message from the player and a friend request. Curious I go with it. To this day we still play games together, made a friend that day.

Forgive me master, for I have sinned
2 -
And chasing is the best part for killers too. So devs should give survs old MoM base kit

How can survivors enjoy slamming gens and escaping? Don't they get bored of not interacting with the killer until they're at the exit?
Tunneling isn't that big a commitment, you see a guy that was just hooked and now he's healing under the hook like an idiot, you chase him. How do you think that's not fun?
What you mean is, you need the game to be easier because you're a crybaby. What do you do in-game to make the game more fun for killers? I'll wait.

How can Survs enjoy be carryed just by free second chance broken perks?
I'm main Killer but i play Survivor too, with Killer i tunneling rarely but become ever more necessary cause of game ever more unbalanced and with Surv i play without use cancerous Perks, and got Red rank anyway in solo.
This game its just unabalced surv-side and communty is the most toxic i never seen.

"with Killer i tunneling rarely but become ever more necessary cause of game ever more unbalanced"
Necessity. Which is exactly what I said there.
2 -
In fact, i think there is not a Killer that like Tunneling, its boring, but there are Survs that like play unfun and toxic, just play brainless by spamming broken perks, its extremly rare found Survs with original builds that play the game because they seriously like it, and its sad.

I don’t let a fair killer get 0k. I always let him kill me at the end.
0 -
How can Survivors enjoy slamming 5 gens in 5-7 minutes?
4 -
most good survivors enjoy it actaully because getting chased is the only thing fun in this game unless is a good nurse, blight when it gets boring easily on a bad map especially.
0 -
Need so much skill rush gen, press one key then switch gen and repeat same thing
0 -
Survivors quitting is healthier for game as of now thanks to too many of them existing.
4 -
I've never tunneled to be toxic, but I've been called toxic for tunneling.
It's almost like players on either side will project their feelings on their opponent in an attempt in invalidate the win and, more importantly, their own loss. (IE: I did not lose because he was being TOXIC! I would have won if he played normally!)
The only problem with this is that this game has the odd, distinct honor of either side thinking they can change how the other plays though shaming, name-calling, and gaslighting.
5 -
This complaint is familiar......
Did my Nemesis curb-stomp your team in The Game last night?
1 -
I find it funny how survivor mains always attach weird emotions, intentions, etc to the killer. Often comes across as projecting. "HE JUST WANTS TO BE MEAN AND TOXIC!" "HE'S DOING IT TO GET BACK AT US!" "HE'S JUST A BAD PERSON!" "HE'S MAD!" "HE MUST HAVE HAD A BAD DAY!" "HE'S DOING THIS TO MAKE ME MISERABLE!!!" Rather than the most simple and logical answer: The Killer is attempting to win the game, just like you.
4 -
Or just get a flippin' ritual/tome done. Some of which require us to <GASP> sacrifice players.
Seriously, as grindy as this game has been gotten, you shouldn't be surprised some of us just want to make our grind through tomes and rituals more efficient. And if hard tunneling at 5 gens so I can finish up the game with a 4k and get on to the next to progress my tome/ritual works... so be it; JUST TRY AND STOP ME
2 -
It's a tactic, cause most matches gens flying, and tunnel makes pressure, make teammates takes free hit to save the tunneled and concede health States or hooks. Also you need the kill. And tunnel is fun, cause you are in chase. Camp/be camped is not.
2 -
No, it isn't fun, but it is the easiest way to make the Game much more manageable for me.
Its up to Survivors to not give me that opportunity.
Here is a tip:
If you are the unhooked, Do not make noise, do not leave scratch marks, dont let me hear you breathe.
If you are the unhooker, make as much possible sound to draw my attention, You DONT want me finding the Teammate you just unhooked.
If Survivors want to give me the Opportunity to have a fat easy game, Ill take it.
Its just common sense.

With the current meta you have to
1 -
Going for the weak sometimes its the best choice. Nothing dishonorable in doing so, the killers job its to kill.
Although i don't respect the people that do it since the start of the match..

Cringe

no u
3 -
Yes.
I enjoy doing my objectif.
2 -
Sometimes it's fun and right))
0 -
I enjoy chasing and downing survivors. I don't bother learning their names, so as far as fun goes, why would it matter if I'm chasing the same survivor or a new one?
2 -
This! Gens fly in literal seconds sometimes, but if you tunnel someone and they are on deathhook, chances are that suddenly all 4 survivors come out swarming you in order to save their buddy, not doing any gens in that time and providing you with a lot of free hits and a couple of easy downs. Sometimes you can even snowball this into a 4K out of the blue, it has happened.
But whatever, tunneling is nearly a necessity in todays meta, otherwise you will just lose miserable and be laughed out of the gates.
3 -
That's another thing: if you insist on playing the same pink top + hoodie Meg or immersed Blendette as one or two of your teammates don't yell at me if I can't keep you apart, because truth be told, I really can't :D
1 -
It doesn´t matter much who i chase.
Chase is the same - but if there is an advantage as i know surv is not that good or surv is injured than it is better to chase this one.
And i can enjoy if i kill someone - the faster the better.
3 -
It's funny because they tunnel and stomp casuals thinking they are some amazing players, but when they meet a good team that doesn't goof around..they cry in the forums. Classic killer mains
2 -
Whataboutisms at it’s finest.

"It's funny because they bully with Flashlight clickety clicks, t-bagging and Head On, thinking they are some amazing players, but when they meet a good killer that doesn't goof around and fall prey to their easy tactics..they cry in the forums and ask for a nerf of every little advantage killers have. Classic survivor mains. "
See? Same stuff, slightly different flavor. We are all prone to this kind of behavior and the tough part is figuring out which complaints hold any water and which are just bad players.
3 -
Survivors should not quit they should switch to playing killer instead, that would be more healthy for the game right now.
