Stop Killers Camping...... just a thought....

It's very frustraiting when you or a party member gets hooked and the killer stands there waiting for you to die. It would be amazing if there was a game mechanic where if the killer was standing within a X amount of distance to a hooked player for X amount of time, the survivors bar(health) stops moving down and they can't die while being watched. Making it pointless for the killer to do this.

personally i dont think camping is the best thing, however. if they did add smth like that if a surv is running the killer around the hook area i dont find that incredibly fair for the killer who isnt camping intentionally.

BHVR tested exactly that and it was forced to be scrapped for being horrifically abusable.

How would you fix that so a killer that's running around the hook doesn't get punished?

And if the killer knows there's a couple survivors nearby, should they be expected to just leave and take the inevitable bait from one of those two?

This was actually tried, just how you describe it. Guess what? Survivors abused it.

They would stand out in the open, in opposite directions. If the Killer chased 1, #2 would go for the unhook. But slow enough to move away if the Killer doubled back.

So the Killer was forced to camp, or start a chase miles away from the hook & allow an unhook. Which was a bullshit lose/lose scenario Survivors could literally abuse at-will.

So it's not happening. This result is why all 'punishment' threads are bad and there will never be a punishment; because Survivors will abuse and exploit the hell out of any mechanic they can for every inch of advantage.
