Flashlights are OP
That's why I use lightborn but aparently the high end player looks down on this perk. Nothing worse than having a game as killer against a bully squad, bodyblocking hook, going for every save. I think its a quality of life perk for me.

Flashlights are not OP.

There's nothing wrong with Lightborn
It's just, once you're aware how bad flashlights are - you stop needing it.
I'd rather see 4 flashlights than 4 medkits or toolboxes

Look, i love lightborn just as much as the next guy for some laughs but flashlights are nowhere near being op. If you actually need to waste a perk slot to counter an item which is so easily countered anyway, you have some learning to do.

######### hell

Agree once you know how to play around em is somehow easy to counter.

if you're having this much trouble with body blocking and altruism in general just play killers that punish it like plague/ hag/ bubba or run perks that counter it like Forced penance, Mad grit or agitation. Flashlights are nowhere near op, in fact, they're probably the worst item

Flashlights are annoying when they work, but they're inconsistent. All you have to do usually is look at a wall or obstacle when you pick someone up and they can't blind you.
I admit, Lightborn is a fun perk when you're against those flashlight squads. Sometimes I run Lightborn in combination with Brutal Strength or Agitation just to get free hits on flashlighters, it's kind of hilarious. 😄 But honestly it's not as powerful as a lot of other perks, and in a way it's counterproductive because once they realize you're immune to flashlights they'll stop trying to blind you and stick to gens which is the better strategy for them.

Flashlights are among the worst Items in the game

^^^^^^^^
As a killer main I support this post

As far as I was aware - the only way you can "counter" them is to look at a wall while picking up. Anything else puts it on the survivor.
When there are no walls, whats the counter?

Lets say there are 4 of them with flashlights - by taking lightborn I have just nullified 4 items. Which is great right? I used to waste so much time trying to fend of people going for the save.

Flashlights are not even that strong.

Honestly in the average players hands, Flashbang type items are probably way more OP. Yes they are single use, however because of their different rules of flashlight saving they are generally easier to pick up/use effectively.

They're obnoxious but not anywhere near OP.

The only thing op about a flashlight is the click.
That will earn you a swift tunnel back to the lobby.

Agreed. Flashlight blinds are broken considering they can still blind you while facing a wall. I hate flashlights with a burning passion.

not only that, but the time you may have invested into getting that down in the firstplace.

Flashlights are powerful, but in most situations they're easily countered by being cautious before picking someone up. If someone has a flashlight and they're not accounted for, do a quick circuit of the area to make sure you're in the clear. Listen for footsteps. Maybe fake the pickup and see if anyone comes running out. Sometimes you'll still get surprised, but you can prevent a lot of blinds this way.
And Lightborn's always a fix for the 4-beamer squads who swarm downs like their lives depend on it.
Really? I always considered flashbangs to be way harder to use against anyone who is a.) competent and b.) not Wraith; easier to see coming and avoid, harder to get the timing right, can't correct if you mess something up, have to get much closer to the killer in order to use them in an animation lock than you would for a flashlight blind.

It's certainly satisfying if that happens! 🙂 The issue though is that if they actually stop trying to flashlight you once they know it's impossible then they'll just do gens because what else is there for them to do? And survivors sticking on gens is generally the better strategy.

You're right, flashlights are soooo OP. I hope no survivors read this thread and bring in 4 flashlights, please no stick to toolboxes and medkits pleeeease flashlights are just too strong please don't bring them in against me I simply can't win especially not if you bring 4 and everyone keeps trying to go for saves, it's just unwinnable, please no never do that to me!

look at a wall lol

what happens when there is no walls?

as both a survivor & killer main, their nowhere near overpowered. they actually take skill now so you have to aim it at the killers eyes instead of the front of their body. as a survivor id much rather use a medkit and a toolbox then a flashlight

just fake pickup and slug

the only op thing is how dumb this thread is.

Have more than 2 brain cells and learn what “object permanence” is. 👍

Flashlights seem OP until you learn how to counter them (which is easy), then they become almost a non factor. In my first hundred hours I hated them, now I welcome them. If I see four flashlights in lobby I might occasionally run lightborn, but that's strictly to screw around.

Look up or down, catch the flashy players lurking around your down and whack them, you get a ton of value from "bully squads" they are not doing generators, they are taking damage they dont need to, lightbornes legit to use but when you get better at the game its a waste of a perk slot, just lose your victim mentality and take them on, agitation (trapper perk) is a way better perk to bring to deal with "bully squads" as you can get to further away hook if one get sabo's also you are faster than a running survivor with agi so you can chase down survivors harassing you

Lightborn is a flashlight users daddy, and he is getting the belt.

Bait it out or slug. If they arent on gens you really shouldnt care. You can make it even easier with certain killer powers where you can place something on the ground and pretend to pick them up as a bait, or shock around with doctor.

Yeah but I also said the 'average' players hands. Unfortunately most consoles don't have the pinpoint accuracy to use flashlights well, so the fact they are long range means less. Its far easier, once understanding the timing, to use a flash bang because its effect is also AOE, so you can use it proactively in a way that intuits what the killer is going to do.

It can be annoying with 2 or 3 players using torch but just need to learn to counter. They need something to fight back with. I dont mind torches, if they over do it i just slug.

They aren't OP but they can be annoying to deal with some of the time. However players who bring in flashlights often waste a lot of time trying to get blinds and will take very stupid risks to do so. I would rather a lobby with flashlights than all toolboxes so they can 'outplay' me with their M1 pressing skills. Medkits used to be a threat too but with COH it no longer matters much as free fast heals are in most matches anyway...

Most of the boring op survivor mechanics please nerf BHVR have an counter
bodyblock : madgrit
any flashlights /firecracker : lightborn or / and face a wall
why did u complain ?
don’t speak about genrush, use great perk for gens slow down like ruin, penimento, dark devotion and new hooks perks.
Dont say survivor op, flashlight op, that’s not.
check the OtzDarva video about it : https://youtu.be/acHiwnCW7eI
that was all for me, killer and survivor main.
