Removing stretched resolution will increase killrates
I commend the devs for fixing this and it is something that will really making the game more fair. Survivor that abused changing their resolutions to stretch everything so they can basically wallhack the killer at all tiles was never intended and this gave an unfair advantage. You always knew the survivors that abused this because you never could catch them at tiles no matter what. There was a clear difference between a native survivor and a stretched survivor.
Now the stretched will be brought down to everyone else, and they’ll be fewer teams and survivors that peep over walls and extend chases way longer than should have.
Killrates are going to dramatically increase.
They’ll be fewer tournament-like stretched teams in the fog that seem unstoppable. Killers will be winning even more than they were and I think this will give the devs the data they need to see that it is too hard to use what is on the maps (for the majority of survivors). Killers can down too quickly most of the time. Will we return to earlier map designs where we have 2 pallets at every jungle gym tile? The killer meta was already too strong even with this advantage. I think something will definitely need to be done with nerfing the killer meta and buffing maps again now that the stretched users won’t have an advantage to overcome it.

I love you sluzzy

Straight FACTS real #########!

It's an actual problem lmao

People said same thing for Decisive & Hatch changes too. And here we are, kills are still around 50%

It is true, I only survive because of stretched resolution. I am afraid for the future of DBD where I will be forced to play like some sort of animal.
18 -
im glad that you dont support stretched res but thinking old dbd was killer sided is a yikes and a half
21 -
Killrates will be more or less the same. The only killrate spike is expected by nerf/rework of deadhard.
1 -
It's always been killer sided, it is only way more killer sided now.
Survivors that used stretched won't be able to win when it is removed.

True!

They could learn, or they could be potato like me.

I appreciate the commitment, but...I don't think they will ever listen.

im genuinely convinced sluzzy is serious about their posts. combine solo-only with a nurse-only experience and their views make a lot of sense

But then stretched res benefit nurse the most.

By your theory, one could make an argument that there will be an increase in players using cheats. Stretched res can be viewed as a gateway to hacks since its been removed. If what you say is true, those players will need a crutch and seek out subtle hacks like X% Haste.
Scary thought.

I don't even know what's real anymore in this forum

Sluzzy's moments of clarity are usually ruined in the same post to be fair.
1 -
I mean you can claim any point as "good point" as long as you agree with them.

In my humble opinion, Sluzzy is the only one with no form of cognitive dissonance. They are the only person with the correct opinion. Everyone dismissing him is just a sign that they have no idea how DBD actually is.
2 -
If stretched res was preventing kills, then those survivors should have died if they weren't exploiting to begin with. Not any different from hackers to be honest.
2 -
Definitely, DbD is a game mere mortal can't understand.

Removing the cheating that was stretch res will increase kill rates... I love it.
These poor cheaters will have to learn how to play and the game will slide into a killer biased apocalypse. 💥
They came to this game just like the rest of us, with a dream of abusing the system to guarantee wins and who could blame them?! Persecuted by loss after loss the way they were... it breaks my heart. 💔
WON'T SOMEBODY PLEASE THINK OF THE CHEATERS! 😰

blight: exists
(also i mean the whole "killer is op pls nerf everyone bhvr" line going on in their posts).
1 -
Only pc players exist.

If that Sluzzy in DBD stats is the same as this Sluzzy, they're not nurse only players though. They play tons of billy too according to those stats (15k chainsaw hits) and doctor too, which are relatively weaker killers.
So it's not a "nurse only" experience, I just wonder if they stack 4 slowdown perks on every killer just to prove their point

Ohhhh boy 🤦🏼

🤣🤣

Are you serious? That the developers remove the SR was long overdue! and now you claim that the killers were already too strong and the kill rate will increase dramatically...and only because they remove an unfair advantage of the survivors? sorry but that's ridiculous. The data will show this in the future because: It was never intended for survivors to gain an advantage from SR.
1 -
It's been too long since the last Sluzzy post.
0 -
That advantage gave what I believe the slight advantage most survivors needed to win and why devs have been reluctant to nerf slowdown perks. Killers will see less of those survivors that were difficult to catch. Higher killrates.
1 -
You know that Killers use SR as well... so the Killrates will remain the same

I commend you for acknowledging that stretched resolution is a problem that needed to be fixed. To be honest, when I saw who started the thread, I half-expected to see you decrying its removal, so my mistake and apologies in making that assumption.
That said, drawing conclusions from anything that happens from results occurring to stretched resolution players when this takes effect -- especially when there's no way to even know how many people were using it -- isn't going to portray an accurate representation of what is or isn't needed in the game. After all, you're talking about people who were gaining an unfair advantage to presumably win, and who won't have that crutch to use anymore. That's not indicative of the normal player experience.
As an analogy, I used to work in the casino industry. If a person playing Blackjack gained an unfair advantage by a dishonest dealer tipping off their hole card, that player would obviously win money. Take away that additional information and make them play without it, and they would obviously start losing more, perhaps substantially so. That wouldn't mean that the game of Blackjack was too "difficult" or needs "changes" because someone using something that's not part of regular play is suddenly deprived of it and suffers the consequences.

We're talking such a small, marginal increase that it really wouldn't matter. Just hit the big targets first, then we can talk about how much of an issue stretch res is
0 -
I’ve seen some people say it already but I’ll say it again survivors AND killers both can abuse stretched res. Once removed the impact will be minimal as both kill rates will very slightly increase but also escape rates will very slightly increase as well. Ok I’ll say it this final time both killer and survivor can abuse stretched resolution ok I’m done.

we will see what the evaluation will reveal in the end

I don't think you can bring back double pallet jungle gyms in the game anymore, removing stretched will not condemn that what so ever.
stretched res was such a meme, it did give some advantages but only people I watch using them were so called SWF champions that 4 stack and use discord and just roll killers and think they are good, totally not the game's fault being stupidly unbalanced at that level of gameplay.
you can't re-create those old maps today, people learned the game better now the average experience in the game is much more than it was back in those 40 pallets a map days. Also I honestly refuse to beleive you played this game long time ago.
there's just no way you think killers were strong in the past ? LUL survivors were way way way stronger than what they are today in old dbd.
also I thought I read the word tournament, I had no idea this game has a competitive scene?
a tournament ? in game that's heavily RNG dependent? that is NOT at all balanced in it's core?
I'm kind of surprised that they make tournaments for DBD.
anyways sorry for diving into my thoughts here, I was just here originally to share my opinion about why we can't have double pallet jungle gyms anymore

Yea... that's true

SR being removed, PC survivors most affected

you do realize what you're saying is survivors who use stretch res are so bad they cannot play normally

People over here attempting to debate with Sluzzy, while I am wondering when did Sluzzy begin to actually make sense.
1 -
Don't worry, you still have filters to make the killer beam unmissable.
0 -
I think its amazing, I can soak up the tears of those who use to cheat for an advantage.
Hmm yummy, more salt from my victims
0 -
Of course it will. When you dont allow to get an unfair advantaje from one side will increase the other side but I think streched res is only used for competitive giys that must be medium high mmr not newbies and so the killrates in general wont get much higher.
0 -
Killers also using stretched res sluzzy.
0 -
Poor cheaters won't be able to cheat anymore and will now get rolled without cheats
1 -
I mean, Im all for BT DS basekit, but res stretch is not okay.
0 -
This is one of the Sluzzy posts I actually agree with.
Except the killer sided troll.
1 -
People really like to over-estimate how many people stretch their rez.
Stretched rez is for the extremely sweaty. And by extremely I mean exceptionally.
They're in the minority.
1 -
Killers probably did but it was rare I think, and the third person camera of survivor gave a bigger benefit.
1 -
My point is that those are likely the only survivors escaping in those rare games against sweaty killers. Imagine the only matches a Blight loses during the day were to these rare sweaty teams.
It would be like taking away BBQ and Tinkerer from a Blight. The advantage is gone.
1 -
You'll be surprised for how many killers using stretched res. Nurses for the fatigue and blights mostly. And they're a lot.
Not as much the survivors thought.
