self care
hey devs, can you limit self care, make it so we can only heal ourselves once or twice?
the perk isn't OP, the problem is that we get so many selfish players who would spend all that time healing themselves rather than unhooking survivors. my last game I had a survivor literally stand infront of me on a hook and self care until I was into my second hook state.
even though that is just one incident, limiting how many times you can self care would save a lot of time and make survivors think about how to best utilize their perk better.
letting them self care however many times they want, literally gives them the incentive to ignore everything going on in a match to just heal themselves. imo probably the worst perk in the game for survivors, when the main focus of the game involves team play.
I have never onced use self care except for adepting, most my games playing solo(cause i have no friends) I see so many people run it and its actually sad. it should be a double edged sword considering when you survivor, you are playing as a team and not by yourself...

Not going to happen. It is already a poor perk to take with you. That player that was self caring under your hook was only doing it to troll you. There was zero reason for them to self-care before unhooking you when they were already there. Just someone being toxic for the fun of it.

We can always bring back original self care. 5 second heals! Problem solved.

Even if that person didn't do it infront of me, they would've done it regardless where they are on the map.
As I said, the way selfcare is currently gives players the incentive to heal themselves rather than to unhook a player. Increasing the time it takes to unheal yourself will be find as long as you limit to how many times you can do it. Just like Unbreakable, you can only do it one time(s).

This perk called as "Selfish-Care" for a reason :)

Sure, make it 5 seconds or 1 second, as long as you make it a limited amount of times you can do it.

Literally it should be named that way, because it doesn't help anybody unless a skilled player knows when to use it.
Playing as a survivor should give people the understanding that you play as a team, rather than a solo player. Clearly the game is not built to be played as 1v1, it is built as a 4v1 game.

Yes, that is called... A medkit. Use that if you want faster and limited heals. You're welcome.

This game is 1v1v1v1v1 game, only SWF plays as a team.

Clearly you are new to the game and think that self care is a good perk. It is not. It is a newbie perk that most people stop using once they get used to the game. Just like some new players may think Technician is a good perk but will eventually outgrow it. Good players don't use self care, unless it is part of some niche healing build they are using. Self care is a waste of a perk slot, for the most part. Med kits are better. Relying on other survivors to heal you is better. Inner Strength is better. Circle of healing is way better. There are so many better perks that may help you avoid getting injured in the first place. And, unless the killer is camping the hook area, there is no reason to heal before making a rescue. Make the rescue and heal each other. Or heal individually by whatever means you prefer. That person was not healing in front of you because they needed to heal before rescuing you, they did it because they were being toxic. If someone heals with selfcare somewhere else before coming to rescue you when the killer is nowhere around, it is because they aren't a good player. It's not the fault of the perk. You don't change perks to curb the behavior of bad players. The only thing that makes it an OK perk is the fact that it has unlimited healing.

This is the first time I've seen someone wanting Self-Care to be nerfed. If anything, I think it needs a small buff

Unironically bringing back what Self-Care used to be before they nerfed healing across the board (and turned it from hardcore meta to trash literally overnight which I will never get over) to 24 seconds would probably make it meta again, and combined with a(nother) circle of healing nerf it would probably be the best choice of healing yourself next to a stacked medkit lmao

No - saved me countless times.
You know, if you are healed you can take a hit. And there is not always a teammate around.

Really? You want to nerf self care of all the perks? It's rarely used except for beginner players and survivors trying to boost their medkit efficiency with the second effect.
Unfortunately you just got trolled by a player but that doesn't warrant a nerf for it.

The only time I ever use selfcare is with botany, resilience, and desperate measures.
If everyone is injured you have a 98% healing speed bonus which almost completely offsets the selfcare penalty.
It doesn’t need to be changed at all though

Remove it

It would be interesting if Self-Care worked as an invisible med-kit (same base healing speed) that started with 1 token, healing 1 full health state of another survivor could give you another token.

No.

Sure there are a lot of perks that need to be reworked, maybe NERFING is the wrong word to use.
It does need to be changed though, most people just use it to meme or troll and drag out the game for selfish reasons.
I think most the people who view this post as a negative instead of a positive is telling me that they are selfish players who use self-care regularly and do troll-like things.
This guy has made a very good point and it could fix this issue. Leave the perk the way it is but change the fact you have so many times you can do it.

I have 894 hours on the game, clearly I am not new to it.
"You don't change perks to curb the behavior of bad players." is what you said, but I whole heartedly disagree with you considering a lot of perks have been changed because of bad players or bad sportsmanship in this game. I feel like you don't really understand what you are talking about.

In solo queue, it, 3 heal medkit or CoH is needed. If I'm in a SWF, I will run a brown medkit and be fine.

Let me introduce you to playing killer, where the exact opposite happens.
They all know what to do, run deadhard, loop efficently, everyone does the gens injured, and your games last 5 minutes.😂

Nooo I like self caring through sloppy. ☹️
0 -
That's a fair point. Personally I've never brought self care apart from doing the odd rift challenges that's required it.
Limiting it's uses would maybe stop selfish players hiding in corners or trolling but then it just becomes a medkit basically and then a dead perk slot.

I'm kind of curious, what would you do through sloppy, just run around hurt?
0 -
I’m totally being sarcastic.
0 -
So you would self-care through sloppy butcher?
0 -
I really don’t do that

Selfcare is the best killer perk in the game, change my mind! Just yesterday I had to experience a Meg who was permanently selfcaring through sloppy butcher in a corner on the opposite side of the map from where my COH was placed...
She never touched a gen or did anything useful cause she was just permanently selfcaring for over 30 seconds. She basically did cost us the game cause we had 1 gen left with 3 ppl alive but she never pushed a gen cause "can't play injured, gotta selfcare even tho I am not even on death hook". In the end she just went into hiding mode, waited for us to die so she could escape. It was a 3v2 match all along and it makes me wish they would completely remove selfcare.
