Unofficial Hints and Tips

Options

This game has been out for a while and it has its own "rules" and "regulations". Certain core mechanics that are taken for granted, or at least assumed to be, by most people. For example:

The Danger Dance: When the killer is near the hook the survivor waves their hands up and down. Over time with an influx of new players it kind of means nothing now. Back say a few years ago, someone flailing there arms repeatedly used to mean they were getting camped and the killer was right there.

If the survivor was almost completing the self unhook action it used to mean no one was coming.

What is something you think the community (or a specific side) could benefit from knowing?

My biggest advice is: Read the Room

If 2 people are down and a third is getting chased, read the room. Perhaps you should go unhook?

Likewise in reverse. If you see someone getting chased, maybe you should get on a generator.

Hiding in a locker only hides your aura, it doesn't hide you from Killer Instinct.

Look at challenges for both sides - it'll explain some of the weird plays you see, also can help you prepare for what you may go up against.

Always wear headphones. Hearing where opponents are is almost as important as seeing them.
