Solidarity slight rework

I really like the idea of this Perk, healing others for you to get healed sounds really nice, but currently it isn't good enough to be used over other perks, so I propose a change.

Solidarity

When injured Solidarity activates, while active:

  • Healing a Survivor without using a Med-kit also heals you at a 50/75/100% conversion rate.
  • Decreases the speed that you heal others by 25%.

Now you can heal yourself using other Survivors, but you also heal much slower to compensate for the time other Survivor would need to heal you aswell.

I like this. This is exactly the change I implemented to this perk. I checked to see if 25% is to slow but healing 25% slower only adds 4 extra seconds to healing so if I heal someone to full health and Solidarity heals me up to it will take 20 seconds.

    Current Solidarity:

Heal other survivor in 16 seconds (default)

You are 50% healed; other survivor heals you in half the time which is 8 seconds

24 seconds to fully heal both survivors

    Your proposal:

Your altruistic healing speed is reduced by 25%

    1(1 - 0.25) = 0.75

    16 / 0.75 = 21.33 seconds to heal the other survivor

Now you're fully healed as well so the total time is 21.33 seconds.

So you get the healing done 2.67 seconds faster than you do with the current version, with the downside being that you heal people slower the entire match while injured and it could end up hurting you later on if that slower healing makes you unable to get a heal off. So whether or not this version of the perk is actually better is situational and it has potential to backfire the same way autodidact can if you don't have your tokens.

Unless you change the prerequisites for this perk - that is, that you and another survivor must both be injured, and you perform the healing action - I don't ever see it seeing the light of day (outside of Adept Jane). If it could at least store healing progress while healthy it would be something, but you're better off running any other healing perk than Solidarity as long as it operates like this.

How do we feel about it hiding the auras of both you and the survivor you're healing in replacement - or preferably, addition - to its current effects? Just throwing out an idea, I'm open to hearing others.

Or maybe, in the event of two injured survivors healing a third, the self healing is shared, in whole or in part, with the other healing survivor. So one person is healed by two others, and both healers get some progress out of it.

I think Bite The Bullet already hides your aura's while healing.

Nope, only healing sounds (injured noises and the actual healing noise).

In that case, I am all for adding hiding your auras to Solidarity.
