Stop ruining licensed characters bhvr
Why do you do it? Why do you add skins for licensed characters that aren't even in the movie? Look at what you did to ghostface, he has literal ice outfit and am I expected to get excited when I see him? It's dumb. Nemesis with his blighted outfit, why? You ruined his look from RE3. He should've gotten a skin from the older games but not a blighted one. I just really hope Michael Myers doesn't get a blighted skin because I thought dbd was a game where we have these horror icons but you're changing their appearance? Oh I'm going against sadako? Hell yeah, oh wait, what is that new skin she has? THAT'S NOT EVEN SADAKO. All I hope is for people to not buy these outfits because they completely change the characters look and makes a licensed character less worthy. I mean, would you have bought nemesis if his blighted skin was his default?

It's just a skin. Out of everything there is to complain about with dbd lately, this is a weird hill to die on.

😭😭😭

How does an optional cosmetic ruin a character?
21 -
- Ghostface is not from the movie, the only licenced bit is the mask
- The skins were made with direct collaborations with the licence holders
- The licence holders always have the final say on a skin; if they felt it deviated too far from their character, they would say no
- The new Sadako skin was made, like the rest of the chapter, with very close communication to the rights holders for Ringu
- If you do not like a skin, do not purchase it.
53 -
god forbid there's some variety in killer appearances i guess
27 -
It literally IS Sadako. It's her body that Reiko and Ryuji dredged from the well in the first movie. The green colour palette and everything.
If you're gonna make bold claims like "this isn't X character", at least get it right.

Nemesis getting blighted outfit before booba vampire lady outfit is what annoys me most
6 -
The new skin looks sick I like it.
Ghostface is just the mask and the the character from scream.

This content has been removed.

I came here expecting complaints about their balance lol
11 -
Okay then turn Michael myers into ghost rider lmfao
2 -
i mean
yeah i'd buy that for the novelty if nothing else that sounds hilarious
8 -
Yeah, because the skins are being turned into completely different intellectual properties all the time. This is 100% a solid retort.
8 -
isn't the skin canon? so it is still Sadako.
18 -
I like it. Not sure I'd cradle her in my arms, but it nice option for fans of Ring.
1 -
Don't buy the skin?
8 -
womp womp
22 -
It's just a skin, it's not like they're changing the killer's whole power. And licensed skins have to be approved by the license holders beforehand, so...yeah.
2 -
That is Sadako! Well her skeleton atleast when she was found in a well in Ringu
Nemesis in dbd isn't entirely canon to the RE3 version as in RE3 he went after STARS agents, however it would make no sense for him to target anyone else, along with the fact that this skin was allowed by Capcom themselves
Ghostface in dbd is made by Funworld, not SMG (Just checked that one on the internet), and Funworld technically let their ghostface be canon to dbd, so Danny isn't the ghostface you see in the scream films
And Michael with a blight skin could look really cool, everything in DBD isn't canon to the films so how is it a problem, if anything you could just not buy the skins
5 -
I want to believe this is bait, but it's the first post i've seen complaining about this, so idk
7 -
The skin of Sadako is cool but it didnt touch my fiber to make me buy it.Maybe the blighted Sadako will be better.
1 -
this guy, i trust this guy, he's the dbd lore guy, he knows everything about every movie ever made and ever put into dbd.
11 -
What an odd complaint lol anyways
ghostface in dbd isn't the same from the movies, infact the one from the movies isn't even the original ghostface. Ghostface is owned by funworld and they are the ones that approve or give ideas for the cosmetics. It is why some of the dbd ghostface masks are even real life masks now. Nemesis' look wasn't ruined, you don't have to use the cosmetic, and even then capcom themselves approved the skin so now you are arguing that the creators of nemesis themselves are wrong? You are also wrong, it is sadako lol, it is a legendary skin that changes her appearance. It is based off the novel and japanese renditions. Most likely yes people would've bought nemesis if his blighted skin was default lol people have their own personal opinions about things and what they like, hence why skins are made in the first place (which again have to be approved by the license holders lol)
4 -
No it's the fact that going against nemesis with that cosmetic ruins the experience
0 -
Most of the people that complain about stuff like this are ignorant regarding the lore/license holders/etc that lead to X costume.
3 -
I don't care about that? Why tf would anyone want a Michael Myers blighted skin? That ruins the character. Skins should be from the movies or the games they come from but the blighted skins are just crazy
0 -
Why not Lmao
7 -
.....I mean.....I'd like it
0 -
But you didn’t make this thread just about blight skins, as you also mentioned Sadako, and you were proven wrong because the Sadako skin is canon. Don’t cherry pick now lol.
15 -
...but the Sadako skin you were complaining about in this post *is from the movie she comes from*
Have you watched Ringu?
7 -
Crazy optional or crazy lack of impact on the game?
3 -
That is entirely subjective to you, it isn't really an argumentative standing you can take lol
1 -
But...the blighted skin isn't what he looks like, the devs are aloud to change how they look at certain killers, and if none of them tickle your fancy, then just wear default
2 -
I mean blighted skins are cannon the DbD and if the LICENSE HOLDERS want to allow it then they can. Would a Blighted Myers not be cannon to the movies yes, but in the realm of the Entity where the "Blight" exists any Killer could become infected with it. So again your complaints shouldn't be directed at BHVR because they don't get the final say what so ever on licensed characters, only the license holders have that. They are the ones in your opinion are ruining their OWN characters.
1 -
I maybe wrong but isn't that cosmetic the one in the well? Like when her body gets pulled out from the well?
3 -
We love you pixel brush!!!!
3 -
sounds like a you problem
2 -
The ghost face skins all fall in line with what is expected from the costume. Ice face seems like something you’d cone across in the costume section of walmart.
1 -
I think it wouldn't fit with many killers, which might be why we don't have Blighted Pig or Bubba.
In the case of RE I think of it as DbD lore meets T-Virus to produce a 'blighted' Nemesis. It's up to the license owners if they think it fits.
1 -
If you watched the movie you would know that is Sadako.
1 -
Unintentional shitpost, has to be redundantly funny 😅😂

Actually it seems that the ringu lore for DBD has become canon to the movies as the license holder was interested in continuing the story after Ringu 2.
Althou i do agree that the skin most likely is not.
1 -
I just see skins as a way to flush out a licensed character you never see in other media.
Nemesis was a lab experiment that was modified by the Blight into an Experimental Abomination.
Ghostface has alot because the license is from Fun world aka a costume Company. Any set we get ingame, Fun world makes it into a real life costume so it's a win-win.
Also pretty sure the new skin for the Ring is supposed to represent her existing corpse in the well. Basically, if she regained her decaying body to hunt down people.
If anything, BHVR does an amazing job with license killers

Even before twins, artist and the trickster

I think that expanding on the lore of licensed characters and intertwining them with the Dbd lore is pretty cool but go off I guess
5 -
Looks like he took his kid to see Frozen in the cinema
2 -
I was going to post this word for word, but you beat me to it
3 -
You sound like you could benefit from playing Civilzation V for a while...
2 -
This is actually true!! In terms of dbd lore, Sadako and Yoichi are canon residents of the Fog, whilst also in terms of canon Ringu lore, Sadako and Yoichi were both taken by the Entity and now continue to exist here. Everything from the Ringu chapter is 100% canon to lore so far and I think that's neat!
3 -
All licenses are canon residents of the fog in terms of dbd lore, however Ring is (i think) the first and only license so far that is canon in dbd while also making dbd part of it's own canon. (That alone makes the chapter all the better in my eyes aswell yes)
