The time it takes to insert the tape is an absolute JOKE
I was chasing after a guy that was fully condemned. I hit him once, and by the sole push of my attack he gets enough distance to reach the TV he needed. Cool I was thinking, Im like 5 meters behind him, I'm fine.
Turns out I should have known better, dude inserts the tape in legit 2 seconds and completely ignores the mechanic.
A powerful mechanic on a new killer, I should have known better. This is such a joke, how is that okay? Just make it so it takes at the very least 5 seconds to insert the tape, that makes absolutely no sense at all.
Incredibly frustrating, but not surprised by the devs actually.

The only counters iv found for this is to take the tiny bit of distance to secure the down to take the hook.
OR
Let them insert the tape and continue the chase, teleport 3 more times and get the mori. (I'd only suggest this if you really hate that survivor or have time to spare)
Maybe just stand infront of the TV if your quick enough to teleport to it first.

If you got the first hit and the survivor stops all movement to insert a tape nearby; you gain distance.
You can use that to get a quick down, STBFL can assist you in this situation.
