I really tried to make her work but not even once in any of my games did I see a survivor affected by her condemnation power. What point is there in it existing if no one ever makes it into a critical state where she can mori someone? There need to be drastic changes in that area. At least turn it into Rancor with the ability to instadown and murder someone the moment the conditions are met.

Her secondary power (teleporting to tvs) is just an inferior version of the Freddy tp with the difference that she cannot tp directly to gens (the one objective you absolutely want to defend) and usually comes out in a way that you still can't see the objective. The way these televisions are set up really cripples their effectiveness and the fact that you cannot reuse them afterwards makes them even worse.

Her regular power (Demanifestation) hardly makes a difference either since survivors always seem to notice her approaching, I just can't get any surprise hits in. The lack of a speedup after reappearing also makes her a worse Wraith. You're still a 115% killer with no gapcloser or loop-shutdown.

The end-result is a killer with great aesthetics and a spooky theme but sadly with super-lackluster gameplay that doesn't affect survivor performance at all. Her hit and run style isn't even worth using since healing is completely out of control in the current metagame. Medkits as well as CoH invalidate any effort you put up. This killer is a low C-tier if you ask me.

    Don't bother trying to get condemned up I've already tested it if you use the healing states granting condemned + 12% progress tape addon it still takes like 4-5 generators to become dangerous on someone and even then they have to be caught a few times in front of a TV and have fiddled around with the TV's.

    And this was with purely slugging and zero hooking to try and drag the game out a bit to see if it would be faster in the late game.

    I recorded a video of a game in the smallest map possible too on Midwich and that probably made it a bit faster honestly.

    You can't make Condemned easy to accumulate without being incredibly careful since it's a straight mori regardless of hook states. It's a balancing nightmare tbh due to how it works.

    The problem is how do you rework condemned in such a way that it forces survivors to do the side objective but does not make for such a potentially premature mori? It's difficult, the only idea I have is usually not very well received by most so I won't share here unless you'd like to hear it.

    Aside from just Condemned though I think she could benefit from some improvements in other categories. Bloody fingernails really needs to be base kit and the cooldown on TVs could be lowered a bit if you ask me.

    Simply make it so survivors actually have to interact with the TVs and tapes.

    If they don't do it in time the condemned rapidly builds up and any action such as healing another survivor on themselves makes it even faster and not a case of touching the TV next to the generator they are on but going to the other side of the maps generators or something.

    My survivors get condemned but they instantly put the tape in. And also my TVs seem to be off all the time.

    She’s immensely held back by DH and CoH. She cannot shut down chases quickly without ambush hits, and those that she does get are nullified because CoH is a thing.

    For each condemned stack a survivor has, a debuff is given.

    1 stack = Killer Instinct appears to The Onryo when near the TV she comes out of.

    2 stacks = Survivor becomes Blind

    3 stacks = Survivor becomes Oblivious

    4 stacks = Survivor becomes Hindered

    5 stacks = Survivor becomes Exhausted

    6 stacks = Survivor becomes Exposed

    7 stacks = Survivor can be killed

    I would just make survivors condemend get 25 secs per bar.

    If they heal,bless,cleanse etc last 20.

    If doing a gen 15 secs per bar.

    It needs to pressure them to do the videotape.

    Ive played quite a few times and ive never had more than 4 bars playing chill.

    See, I disagree with you here. I feel that condemned is the only thing giving this killer an edge over some other killers. It's what makes her unique. It just needs to be a bit more tuned.

    1. Have it so that retrieving a video tape does not turn the TV off. Once you've retrieved the video tape, then you get the option to turn off the TV for an additional condemned stack.
    2. Increase the distance where condemned is granted around a TV from 16 meters to 24 meters
    3. Have it so that returning a TV turns the TV on rather than off.

    watch them not buff her because she has an average kill rate when every time I see her, I throw to meme. totally not because the killer is good. people that play her and say it's fun for their side must main legion or something that can only m1 and be looped

    I can't agree, but maybe the survivors I am going against aren't that good yet. No idea, but at the moment she seems pretty fine.

    Circle of Healing is the exception there of course, with it still being op.

    But I personally think she is at the very least decently strong. Her Condemnation most likely won't get you any kills, but it will slow down the match, because survivors waste time while getting rid of the tape. And while survivors will barely ever be in danger of getting fully condemned when they do not take any tapes at all, that in return will allow Sadako to have a lot of map pressure. I personally find her TV teleportation to be better than Freddys teleport. Especially since it's the TV's that have a cooldown, not her power itself.

    Her demanifested form also works good for me. Survivors will sometimes know I am approaching, but I have gotten enough surprise hits as well with her. Her phasing can also help in chase, though those are rather rare occurances. Her chase is definitely pretty weak.

    Make your choice, Dragons grip, Call of brine , Scourge hook: Floods of rage.

    With tv cooldown addons.

    I'm having fun with it.

    But yeah condemned feels just like a bonus if you get it off. Most of my games I Ignore it.

    Bro, Legion has more control over the game than The Onyon. I play him all the time for BP because he can actually bodyblock and use his power to out-position on command. Her TV's run you into rocks, ######### am I going to do with that in chase?

    If she’s actually underperforming they will buff her. All the new killers get a balance pass a few months after release or so is the typical schedule. They want to give the meta a time to stabilize around them though to make sure a players are actually playing them well. (When Blight came out for example there were a ton of people saying he was trash for example because they weren’t playing him properly. If they had listened to those complaints and buffed him he would have been really crazy to deal with now that people have used him a while.)

    I don’t think Sadako is “great”, but I suspect some of the complaints about her similarly stem from people playing her badly. It seems like some people try to play her exactly like they play Wraith, for instance, but the way she goes in and out of stealth fluidly isn’t the same as his stop-and-go approach. You have to take advantage of the fact that she’s always moving at least survivor speed, even while Manifesting, and that she remains on and off invisible after Manifesting for a short time. And you want to balance using the TVs for scouting and map pressure with using her stealth to run in from cover for quick hits. Her Condemned doesn’t often get kills, it’s ironically probably the weakest part of her kit, but even there if you use the teleport enough to maintain pressure and keep an eye on survivors who might be running to TVs to remove stacks you can get some indirect slowdown and pressure there to.

    Don’t get me wrong, I would have absolutely no problem seeing her get buffed, more fun for me! 😄 But at least on my end I’ve been doing ok with her, even against otherwise good survivors, so I’m taking some of the talk about her being the worst killer in the game with a grain of salt. I think she’s probably average, a bit better than Wraith, but not as good as the really good killers.

    Blight literally was unplayable for 6 months due to his camera taking forever to fix, this is a completely different case. This is more similiar to what we had to put up with the Trickster, it was immediately clear that the killer was in a pretty awful state. The Onryo has no kill potential whatsoever and only relies on taking down inexperienced players who have no situational awareness or simply lack the ability to loop.

    Blight wasn’t “literally unplayable for 6 months”. He was one of the strongest killers pretty much from the moment he went live. There were a lot of people who didn’t know how to play him properly though.

    The condemned mechanic is an utter joke. A gimmick more than anything. Even if you play for condemning survivors throughout the whole match, they can still do all 5 gens and not even interact with any TVs or video tapes. Perhaps it works in lower skill matches but not in high mmr.

    Maybe you get a mori 1 out of 5 games. In the case of PH, you get maybe 1-2 moris every game. I don't know why the Onryo should perform so much worse. She's already arguably the weakest looper in the game.

    My suggestion for how to fix it would be the following:

    1. Survivors that gain a stack of condemned, through any means, will continue to gain condemned stacks passively.
    2. Reduce 7 stacks to 6 stacks to become fully condemned.
    3. Let the Onryo see the amount of stacks each survivor has.
    4. When teleporting to a TV, survivors close to it gain a stack between 1 and 2 depending on how close they are to the TV. (Can be a number like 1.5.)

    At least then survivors would have to do the TVs which would slow down the game a bit.
