If Borrowed Time becomes basekit, which killer perk should become basekit?

I'd choose old ruin 100% would help with gen rushing

Lethal definitely! But also a perk to help stall the game ie Corrupt

Hell make the whole thing basekit and make the current bbq a bloodpoint perk that can stack leading to 4x the bloodpoints

Honestly I was just being realistic because they would probably never add bloodpoint bonuses to base kit

While corrupt seems like the logical answer, it can backfire with hex perks, so idk.

Monstrous Shrine. It sure ain't worth the perk slot.

I honestly don’t think they’d need to make any killer perks base kit. Worst case, if Borrowed Time being base kit actually made things a little to easy for survivors, they could just slightly increase the amount of time it takes to complete gens to compensate. That would be a much more straightforward buff in terms of programming and one that could be fine tuned to any degree by simply picking different numbers up or down.

I'd rather not have BT basekit to begin with. And if we get a free killer perk in exchange for them getting a free survivor perk, that works vice versa, and I think it's kind of silly that survivors will get any sort of buff just because killers did. I don't want to play the balanced scale game.

Rancor maybe? They want to make moris a part of normal gameplay anyway...

I watch streamers too. Even Otz tunnels now and proxy camps sometimes. Lets just be honest the game is badly broken balance wise.

I dont tunnel or camp but i have plenty of matches with me getting 1-2 hooks with that playstyle. If i had tunneled 1 person down from the beginning i might have won or gotten 2-3k

Also the game should never be balanced around people that are just hiding and urban evasioning in bushes. The game is broken when it comes to SWFs and survivors that know more than just to hide when spine chill blinks.

Add in rancors "mori the obsession" part to make obsessions have at least 1 downside.

Imo the obsession basekit mechanic should change so survivors DONT want to be the obsession.

This, maybe that'd teach survivors to do bones if noed is in every trial.

If corrupt was basekit, everyone would learn soon to just wait it out and they will also easily be able to avoid lethal because they will know about it, meaning they can easily fake it.

Pop goes the weasel, I feel like kicking a gen doesnt do ######### unless you use that perk.

Which is why Lethal comes in pair, Killer will mostly start a chase before survivor start a Gen, unless 4 survivors spawn on 4 Gens

Reason Killer lose a Gen before starting a chase is 4 survivors spawn together on a Gen and Killer patrols a wrong area. Lethal & Corrupt base would fix it.

Yea but if its basekit survivors will know about it and will just walk in a direction in the first few seconds and then walk a completly other way to avoid him.

Or they are just afk the first few seconds to wait it out.

Then they could simply hide somewhere and wait out corrupt completly.

As a killer i could either keep checking the gens now until corrups is over and i basically got nothing except wasted time or i try to head in the direction i saw the survivor which could be miles away hiding already.

On certein maps and with certein spawns u might get close enough to someone before they get to hide but not on maps like RPD or other big maps or indoor maps.

    Prolly corrupt or NOED.

  • Wampirita

I'm saying it as survivor main: NOED. Still as hex tho, to force lazy entitled survivors to touch bones.

You're not lazy to look for totems to place boons, why you're lazy to destroy them to prevent noed?

If you're against it, you're one of those people that think it's op, when it's fully counterable.

It should be a second objective to destroy totems. Either do it or stop fcking around in endgame and just leave.

Me and my swf never complain about noed, if it activates, it's 100% our fault, which we can still fix. It's up to us if killer will have an advantage due to our stupidity.

If not NOED, then Monstrous shrine, both are waste of a perk slot. They're very strong, but situational.

But then if Monstrous shrine became a permanent addition, the amount of basement campers would be way higher, it would need something to make it preventable like being unable to enter 2nd stage if killer is within 5 meters from basement hooks.

I definitely agree with BT being baseline for survivors tho, the amount of people who refuse to lvl up a free character for that is stupid...

I would also make No one left behind baseline for survivors, it suffers from the same thing as monstrous shrine, a complete waste of perk slot, but it would be a nice EGC power up.

Overall EGC needs like a rework or something

I don't agree with changing things on one side solely because another side has something changed.

That's how we get terrible balance.

A good chunk of perks, on both sides, are bandaid fixes for poor/flawed mechanics and a lot of perks SHOULD be base kit.

But this is just coming off as an "us vs. them" post to me

I wouldnt make anything basekit but instead actually implement a solution where camping becomes a bad choice, such as for example killers MMR will increase additionally if they camp, making them go against more sweaty squads or something else.

That's not how this works, whatsoever.

Survivor players aren't just getting a free treat that killer players are being denied, the point of basekit BT (or whatever they're planning along those lines) is to cover for a gap in the game's base mechanics that makes bringing BT (and DS, though they don't have plans for that one being basekit) feel all but essential.

There are some perks that kinda fill that niche for the killer side, but I'd argue none of them do it as succinctly and simply as BT does for survivors. Generally you'd be looking at slowdown, and I don't think there are any slowdown perks that would solve the gen speed issue more succinctly than just tuning speed increases and spawn points would.

There would need to be equivalent changes in general, but that need starts now. It's not that if survivors get basekit BT, then killers would need some kind of change- they're both needed right now.

    Corrupt intervention surely

  • sizzlingmario4

The idea is that because basekit BT is essentially a 5th perk slot for survivor the killer should get something back for it.

It doesn't really have to be a "perk" though; there are plenty of other possible changes that would go a long way and imo there are changes that could be made on both sides to make the game better overall regardless of whether basekit BT is implemented or not. Basekit BT is just one thing they hinted at that they were considering.

The problem I have with just slapping on basekit corrupt and leaving it at that is that A) it would probably become more meta to just hide and wait it out since survivors know it will be there before the game even starts, which is very boring gameplay, and B) it isn't always a good idea to run it with totem perks, since a survivor who can't work on the gen right next to them will be more encouraged to find things like chests, totems, etc. And totem spawns/survivor spawns are something that already need work, and giving more attention to those things would be a nice tradeoff for something like basekit BT or whatever else they may decide to implement to combat camping.

If you want to reduce camping it needs to be a less appealing option, but in a way that can't be easily abused/exploited by the survivors. Things such as "disable bubba's chainsaw near the hook" or "increase repair speeds while the killer is near the hook" or "slow down the Entity progression by 50% while the killer is near the hook" are exploitable by survivors who are being chased as they can run near the hook to either force these kinds of penalties or force the killer to drop the chase and allow a free unhook to avoid it.

Whispers would be great basekit for killers. It'll reduce the guessing game making games more efficient for both killers and survivors (no more crawling to a corner to hide and bleed out).

I think a weaker Corrupt would be good too. Corrupt stops the farthest 3 gens for 180s. Maybe a base could be the 2 closest to you for 90s. You could combine them and then it'll turn the middle into the hunting ground for at least the initial 90s.

Making BT base kit would allow survivors to just not care about unhooking in front of the killer so it shouldn’t happen in the first place. If the survivor you just unhook just goes down again, it’s your fault for picking another perk over BT
