Make Boil Over strong again, but also cause exhaustion
Title.
It lets the perk do what it was meant to do, but not back-to-back, run to the same corner or second floor repeatedly abuseable.
The perk gets more value and becomes less obnoxious.

Boil over is from kate not jane

Nah, just make it better again, and fix hook spawns. Win-win.

You right. I have a different build for each of my survivors and try to use every single perk there is. My Jane uses Boil Over, so I mixed it up.

Giving it exhaustion would not fix it.

Boil never was strong, it was just abuseable
2 -
I mean.... that could work ? Like Balanced Landing, good but not on every map.
Maybe keep the wiggle sway when exhausted, but reduce it to 50 % ?
2 -
So screw over people using controllers again?
5 -
Making it an exhaustion perk doesn’t fix it.
It prevents going to the same corner over and over again, sure, but if there’s any corner you can go to even once and be invincible, that’s already an issue and exhaustion is just a partial band-aid solution.
And that still isn’t fair in regards to the issues it was causing for controller players.

Sure, but then the survivor's exhausted meaning they cannot wiggle free again and again and again.
Either they have to spend 40s recovering or they have to be hooked, before they can use it again.

I play with controller and as the killer I actually use Boil Over against the survivor by having it help me get to hooks.
I look toward the ground and when I feel myself pull to the right, I look right and walk left; vice versa for being pulled to the left. This means that Boil Over is now quickly moving me in the direction I want to go.

And how would you consider boil over to be "strong"?
Reliably making killer unable to hook survivor? Aka making the survivor even more able to 1v1 a killer in a 1v4?
1 -
They wouldn't be more able to 1v1. Dead Hard's better for that than Boil Over, and unless the killer slugs them for 40 seconds before picking them up, both perks cannot be used together.
1 -
It's a bad perk no matter what.
Just run DH/IW/DS/UB 4head
Besides if you made Boil Over what it used to be again but slapped Exhaustion onto it people would just abuse it and use Vigil.

Then they would need to fix the "great height" requirement because I'm not looking to give a free 25% wiggle progress for skipping 3 steps off a staircase.

It is still more... More situations where the survivor can the deny the killer everything just on their own. Until now only driving chase but then also until right before the hook.
Dh is so frustrating because the killer already has to invest 2 chases worth of time and then gets denied for nothing.
And if BO would be made into just another second chance exhaustion perk thats reliable that's even more frustrating because the killer also invested time to pick up and carry however far to a hook only to lose it all again.
It doesn't really matter that it wouldn't synergies with dh (an even insane lookout), it would by itself do the same and waste potentially even more time than dh.

Legit question: how does Boil Over interact with controllers? I'm confused here.

It can be very difficult to control.
Bad enough that it can be practically impossible to hook people on certain maps due to the wiggle increase. BHVR has responded to this by reducing the wiggle sway bonus on Boil Over, which is very much appreciated.

No!

OH! You mean on the Killer's side! Okay, I get you now. I thought you meant for the Survivor. I know controller people already get screwed there by having some buttons shared (like Chain Break and Throw Pallet).

There is no exhaustion when you are in dying state...

Oh, yes, on the Killer side.
I think most of us are capable of either rolling the sticks or hitting wiggle checks.
...although with some of my teammates it does make me wonder
