Dead Hard rework

Dead Hard

Activatable perk.

You can take a beating. When injured, tap into your adrenaline and dash forward quickly to avoid damage.

• After being hit by the killer Dead Hard will activate for 60 seconds.

• Press the Active Ability button while running to dash forward.

• During the dash, you avoid damage.

• Causes the Exhausted status effect for 30 seconds. (Balancing towards the perk to not make it obsolete)

• You do not recover from the Exhausted status effect while running.

While active the following interactions will deactivate Dead hard:

• Being downed

• Being healed by yourself or others

•Being Exhausted

Dead Hard needs to be reworked in a way to prevent you from using it mid chase to chain tiles together. What makes DH broken is that everyone uses to avoid a hit and in so doing they use the distance gained to get to a window or vault. Now they can loop a pallet for 20 seconds before needing to use it. Then they can loop the tile until the killer breaks the pallet and run to the next tile.

The simplest rework for deadhard is to give the skill an action interrupt for 5 seconds (doctor power is a 2.5 second action interrupt). This means you can use DH to avoid a hit and gain distance but you cant then throw a pallet or vault a window unless you are 5 seconds ahead of the killer.

That would put this perk in the same place as every other exhaustion perk where you gain a little bit of distance but cant really chain tile elements together.

This isn't a rework - it's making DeadHard contextual... Not a rework in the least.

But I appreciate that it's only able to be used when survivors are damaged from healthy to Injured - puts a soft lock on the perk. Thought it would be best to use Broken, but by putting a hard timer on it, I think you're accomplishing the same ends by different means.

    I like this little change!

There is nothing wrong with dead hard and you don't need to fix what isn't broken

People complain about it as they feel they just click E when the killer clicks mouse 1 to attack the survivor, everything is a button click in this game. Dead Hard can be frustrating but there is a skill to using dead hard and it comes down to timing it right, which is why there is nothing wrong with Dead Hard.

a better balance would be to cut the distance in half and make it so you cannot perform any action for about a second or 0.5
