The New Mori System Is A Bad Decision
This is going to ignore the hundreds of really fun matches where an insane flip-flop,boil over, power struggle mix allowed the survivor to get away. Maybe they were crawling away right towards the hatch. Maybe the killer downed them right besides hatch.
This is bad. It should be like a yellow mori where it's optional and takes time to trigger. Also applies to people wanting to get hooks for their archives or BBQ stacks. Horrible change.

It is an interesting choice to say the least. I assume they went with forcing the animation so the killer wouldn't bleed you for 3 and half mins before killing but idk. Is the sixteen seconds to hook and sacrifice the last guy really that tedious? I'd prefer the choice. I like letting people go.

It would be easier to just let the survivor commit sudoku if they desire as they can on hook. Taking away the agency of the killer when so many people are already frustrated at the role for that reason is pretty detached.

Let them tap out with the animation. Everybody wins.

And when someone commits sudoku, you know their number is up!

I do think its too much of a fundamental change to the game. Its definitely going to make the game different and effect how many killers play the game. Moris should always be an optional thing and I don't think the only option for it not to happen should be don't touch the last survivor.

I prefer it this way. Whenever I use those perks the killer just bleeds me out because they know I'll escape.

Sudoku?

It's a puzzle game.

If you are on the ground as last one, its over. Sorry bout your flip flop bro.
You had your chances to DS during the match, you had your Deliverance, its now time to die.

The change to END GAME (this thing has nothing to do with mori offerings) has exactly two consequences:
- Killers cannot down the last survivor and walk them around the map to find the hatch.
- Survivors who get unhooked cannot bodyblock for their friends and, when they get downed a second time, use DS to escape for free.
If you don't like this change, you're almost certainly somebody who did one of those two things. If you're in the first group, you have my sympathy, but you can just escort the survivor now instead. If you're in the second group: DS shouldn't be an automatic Get Out Of Jail Free card. Stop body blocking and just run out the door.

If the game is going this way, I made this suggestion on another thread.
Killer downs last survivor and then has three menu options. Let's say for the sake of the argument, everything's ending in an animation.
- Survivor gets killed as proposed.
- Killer has the option to spare the life of the player and the survivor crawls out through the exit gate.
- Entity Decides. RNG of one of the above.

Or just have a mori button and a carry button. Problem solved

Hundreds? More like tens. As in less than 20.

Yeah.
Whichever variant of kill or save you wish for.
I did think my Entity's Choice was a nice touch to add even another level of unknown. Obviously as a killer, usually I want to kill, but sometimes I might want to save and then sometimes, I can just throw caution to the wind and let the system decide.

It just needs to be optional and it's fine.

Pros and cons to it. I think it's a net positive to have it start automatically on the last survivor.
One of the big issues the game still needs to address is ending trials that have gone past their expiration date. Endgame collapse helped tremendously, but I still see killers bleed out the remaining survivor, or see survivors run to unhookable spots. This also eliminates the tired carry for eternity to find hatch meme.
It's not meant to be fair in every scenario. It's meant to end the game in a reasonable timeframe when the gameplay loop has been exhausted and get you into the next one, which is something DbD can always improve.
3 -
Ending the game in reasonable timeframe will happen anyway

100% a bad decision, but one they could easily find common ground on if they listen to some of these "common sense" solutions community members are contributing, like giving the killer prompts that appear.
1 -
Nah its worse than that.
I can tell you right now what im going to do at the end of most games. Hook the second to last survivor and then instead of hooking the last one, ill just slug him till the guy on hook dies so i can mori the last guy.
I'm sincerely sorry for however many games ill extend this way but ill keep doing it till im sick of the mori. Since atm, i love seeing them, survivors might as well bring their pajamas and a pillow so they can get comfortable on the ground.
Again, im sincerely sorry.

Literally, if they made it so that there's a criteria for EGC to kill the last survivor via entity - this wouldn't be an issue.
If the last living survivor remains still in the Dying state for longer than 32 seconds, the Entity kills them instantly.
Heck, they could probably save a lot more time in other ways.
If the last living survivor remains in the Dying state for longer than 8 seconds during the End Game Collapse, the Entity kills them instantly.
Which not only would allow Killer players enough time to give hatch, pick them up, or have them wiggle free - it would also end the match a lot faster than it is already... and let those sadistic killers sit back and watch the show.
It's literally just as easy to implement as an auto-mori, looks a lot less clunky, makes sadistic killer mains happy, makes altruistic killers happy, and makes survivors sick of being slugged very happy in many cases.
In all honesty, just giving the killer the option to mori should be enough. If the devs are worried about slugging, just let survivors kill themselves on ground after bleeding out for long enough.

It's a great idea, sick of survs crawling to a corner then complaining about being slugged.
Anything that hurries up a game that is obviously finished is a good idea.
1 -
Question, you can Mori just one survivor whit the new method?
0 -
I think the devs "easily" could implement a check if all survivors are incapacitated (crawling, dead, hooked), maybe check if they could recover with perks, and then just entity-sacrifice them instantly (like at the end of EGC. Or a surrender vote that pops up in such a situatkon instead.
I mean tvey alread have a similiarh a check for the last hooked surv.

Not to be mixed with seppuku, which is way interesting as puzzles go.
