SWF hiding flashlights till the last second...
Literally had a 4 stack with outfits screaming "It's a bully squad" but I already waited 10 minutes to get a match and I didn't feel like waiting for another one so I said I have no option just to go through it.. I was waiting for the usual 4 flash lights but no one did I was suspicious I kept hovering around lightborn just incase but I didn't pick it so literally the counter was going to force them into ready and they quickly picked flashlights so you can't use light born or quit .. And there you go entertain high mmr bully squads running every loop perfectly and every hook was a challenge with the sabo perk and flashlight saves..
It's just unfair to play against 4 good players with flashlights and voice communication ? especially while playing a weak killer I got gen rushed and ended up with 1 kill though all the clicks and tbags.
As a soloQ player it's unfair how much advantage a SWF gets over you while my most survivor games are DC's and survivors suiciding on hook and no one works on gens or saves you or anything. While I play killer it's always the high mmr sabo bully squads game over game.. At this point I'm having a Stockholm syndrome with DBD lol.
Please BHVR the game is not balanced or fair because of SWF at least make it teams of 2 friends max ..

lmao no your suggestion makes having friends a worse thing lol. you shouldnt be forced to pick a friend to play when with you have 3 others that just makes having friends harder. also 4 flashlights isnt that bad as flashlights are worse than medkits and toolboxes. SWF does have issues tho but flashlights are unimportant and 2 people max is bad. it would be better if there was matchmakings for swf which pairs them with better killer players and such

I'd kill for a team of last second flashlight switchers than a team with 4 Medkits tbh. They're very easy to deal with.
So long as it isn't a slug squad on rpd with Exponential but that's also an rpd issue.

Still, survivor being able to increase their success chances by average 15% (which means it ranges between zero and much more) by teaming up and using comms and meanwhile killer can't do anything of the sort (you can't change to a stronger killer anymore upon suspicion of an swf) and the game/matchmaking isn't balanced in consideration is still ridiculous to this day.
Even games like lol and r6s have a filter in matchmaking that TRIES to put premade team vs team and solo vs solo.

They should remove the ability for survivors to change items way before the 5 seconds count down. Imagine playing wraith or hag with a 4 flashlight team. I would gladly skip the lobby because my killer will be destroyed.

Ain't no one going to use lightborn every match.. The whole point of being able to see survivor items pregame is to pick your counter perks of they all pick flashlights then you can pick lightborn but the whole scam is they didn't until the countdown nearly reached red so you don't have enough time as a killer to pick lightborn..

The whole 1 second before auto ready Change is to screw you up from quiting the lobby because you can't anymore it's considered DC so you depip and get wait for the timer + queue time all over again and you won't have the chance to pick lightborn it's unfair and scummy.

Can´t wait for the next chapter to release. When survivors get a perk that guarantees a flashligh in a chest.
Killer will either feel forced to always equip Lightborn or suffer the consequences.

I love seeing these posts because it's so relieving to know that killers that are so used to shitting on solo que survivors are getting absolutely rolled by SWF's. That's so sad that you can't just camp or tunnel off hook and have to work for kills, truly. You don't like that you can't hard counter survivor items that cost loads of Bloodpoints with one perk? Damn man not sure what to tell you except that it's part of the game? If it wasn't allowed then it wouldn't be doable period.

I honestly don't mind a flashlight bully squad because they usually are way too altruistic and I usually will get at least 2-3k even if I don't catch one of them until 3 gens pop. You can always bet that there's one who is hovering for the save so it's just easy slug pressure and they're bound to slip up eventually. I had some try to infinitely pull the double locker flashlight save and eventually they messed up where I grabbed them trying to enter the locker and they weren't prepared for the timing. I'd rather have 4 flashlights over medkits, medkit protection hits can get annoying.
If I suspect either a squad or if they have matching outfits/names, I'll usually just equip starstruck to help counter them swarming the pick up. More fun than franklins/lightborn.

Have only had one team do that since my return to the game and miss it.
I like when they bring the fun. Usually just ends up being a clown fest at the hook.

Lightborn is completely unnecessary to counter a flashlight squad. Just need your eyes and ears with some awareness when you pick up. It takes practice but it eventually becomes easy to counter. They're easy 4ks once you get the hang of it.

that is terrible idea that would kill their game. They are already losing killers, why would you make a change to lose survivors too?
this could be fixed just by not allowed to change character and item.

Last second switching is bullshit, but the answer is to remove last second switching, not SWFs.
Wouldn't be hard to lock loadouts 10 seconds before people are allowed to leave, or lock survivor loadouts before the killer's loadout. In the meantime, you can always force-close the game on the offerings screen without penalty.

BHVR will never change SWF as things stand now and I don’t blame them. SWF players will stop playing the game if they limit it or nerf it too much.
I say this often, but if you play killer and you really want things to change, you need to stop playing the game. Right now BHVR sees that this game can get by even though they know that experienced, coordinated SWF is unfair against even the best killers. Enough killer players are still toughing it out to keep queue times acceptable for survivor teams. I guarantee you that if enough killers stop playing and survivors players leave in large numbers because they’re waiting too long for matches, you’ll see changes made.

Yeah, there will be a huge spike in its usage because that perk and its survivor are new. Just like when Leon and Jill came out with Nemesis everyone was trapping generators and shitting Flash Bangs constantly.
It'll die down, but until then just throw on some shades and punish them for it.

Last second switch is just stupid and that's it. Bhvr gave killer the ability to see if survs bring a item because it's 1v4. Every one defending last second switch are simply people that like to abuse it and bullie people

I use lightborn every match because you never know when a survivor will get a flashlight from a chest, also this new perk coming in that guarantees a flashlight just stapled lightborn to my loadout forever, lol

It is your fault for not running Lightborn, though. They try that on me all the time and take a guess how many times it worked out for them. If you guessed "not once since becoming born of the light" you would be correct!

I agree having the 4 atack flashlight is annoying and all I can really say is, close the game while the lobby is loading so you don't get the DC timer. Or you AFK from the start looking up if you load in. In all honesty I would just have survivors be locked into whatever they are bringing at 10 or 15 seconds rather than 6 that way there is more time to back out.
I never hit the ready button anymore always waiting for those hangs to change or full bodies to change.
This is a party game, you can play with friends you make in the game or have known before. If you limit who you play with it immediately gets less fun. Imagine playing mario cart with only 2 controllers at one time when you have 3 friends over and you don't wanna get off the game at all. That means those who are not driving around on the race track are gonna go play something else.

I'm so used to playing with 3 Perks because of constantly running give me them blood points BBQ that if they made the bonus BP a standard thing I'd probably switch out BBQ with Lightborn just for the lols.
I love getting told in the post game chat how "bad" I am for using it by people running all of the second chance perks, but lost anyway.

Having a coordinated team can hurt you as a killer I agree, but if you're getting outplayed by flashlight consistently that's a skill issue. It's easy enough to play around if you're paying attention to how the survivors are positioning.

Lot of people here really missing the point. It's not about the flashlights, although that is what OP got hit with - it's about slamming in different loadouts at the last second - and to that they have a point.
Why does the 4 man team get the last say on presenting information in the lobby? The killer can see them, but it has no value - and it's about to have less value when loadouts come around and they all switch at the 16 second mark.
They bring all flashlights at 16 seconds? Not enough time to equip your lightborn loadout
All medkits? Not enough time to select your sloppy butcher
The list goes on
The real question is it appropriate for survivors to have the final say at the lobby screen? I don't think it is. I also don't particularly care because I play killers that don't give a ######### about this nonsense - but the people hyper-focusing on flashlights and SWF vs Solo and the other ancillary nonsense aren't really understanding the problem.
The worst part? The solution is SO EASY. Lock survivors in at 20 and killers in at 10. Done.
Edit: Before anyone goes full stupid. YES, I understand the OP talked about Flashlights and SWF too. We ALL KNOW THESE THINGS ARE NOT GOING AWAY, there is no need to hijack this thread and make it about that. There IS a chance lobby rigging gets addressed.

The reason last minute switching is allowed is due to lobby dodging when survivors bring items.
The only way to fix this is to have lobby leaving penalty which many would argue against and I don't think the devs wish to do hence it is not there.
Each side should be able to bring and use what the game offers. Perks, items, addons and offerings. Information in the lobby is there for setting up and if you suspect a 4 man I would suggest to use these experiences to pick your loadout.
You don't blame players or swf for adapting and using this, you blame those who used the system is to avoid it.

Wouldnt it be better to not show any items at all then. Currently the only effect it has is to be annoying for the killer side.
With this all gathered information and loudout options can be baited and avoided which makes this part of the lobby useless. Its an quality of life issue with no upside.
