Why dead hard should be nerfed
Comments
-
The only problem is when survivors use it to get to a window or pallet which can extend the chase for a longer period than it should’ve been. It sucks to outplay a survivor at a loop only for that to be taken away by a press of a button.
0 -
In a way I agree. Dead Hard shouldn’t see something if they don’t do the same with Nurse and Blight.
0 -
I agree with some of these points. People can undoubtedly be blind to their skill issues, yet are quick to point their finger at everything else but themselves. DH is certainly a strong perk with only a handful of true counters, no denying that. Most of which involve exposed/insta-downs that deny it, but that being said I don't think it being strong or meta is necessarily a reason to nerf it alone when there are a lot of other "unfun" things in the game.
0 -
Soooo, you will get stunned by a Pallet. Nice logic my friend...
1 -
Just because you don't like a perk doesn't mean it should be nerfed. I'm sorry your feelings got hurt though.
0 -
Are they going to nerf BBQ since its the most common killer perk? What about Corrupt?
1 -
And they'll just scream that whatever perk we all use when they destroy Dead Hard is OP and needs to be nerfed into the ground, just like DS.
1 -
Otherwise killers might have to earn their kills and use some strategy! Thank god indeed!

They were 2 perks mentioned for changes, yes. You can read more here

Yes, all meta Perks will get reworked, even if BBQ ain't exactly a good Perk, like Self-Care.
"Just wait it out 4head".
There's no consistent counter to DH
1 -
That graph is because survivors haven't gotten any good perks in a very long time. When killers get meta changing perks, survivors get filler perks.
3 -
If you have an issue with those 2 perks then yikes, literally so easy to counter. Cant wait for the changes as I won't feel the need to run the OP deadhard on my survivors (hopefully) and be able to switch my killer perks up. Also kinda funny how deadhard is used by like 75% when I don't think a killer perk is that high, but that also is because of the 4v1 probably. All in all I can't wait for the perks rework
1 -
First of all that DH where you timestamped he could have waited a bit longer. You have to realize you are ALSO trying to bait them, not just waiting.
So what happens is you get really close and the survivor almost has no choice.
That is actually a bad example because the only DH you cannot bait out is the one where the distance was exactly the distance the survivor needed to get to a pallet. Because only then will they use it early to be able to get to said pallet. That is the only one.
There are also people who legit don’t understand how the perk works and so they do know how to deal with it. This is fact.
1 -
Dead Hard is fine! Most survivors just dead hard into the wall or end up exhausted on the ground lol
0 -
I guess we'll see the stats after it gets nerfed
if it will make any difference at all or if killers will still be making topics around here complanining about another perk.
As a main killer myself, I do understand why DH is a problem now, but I also understand that you CAN win matches even with 4 DH on the team, you see it all the time, just go to these streamers live and you'll see them destroying SWF teams with meta perks and still complain about DH and DS.
1 -
I'm 100% sure you don't play killer at all.
0 -
Dead Hard and Boons make absolutely no nense in their current state.
0 -
Good choice, I love otzdarva. ❤️.
0 -
Haha thats funny, like you survivors don't depend on your dead hard or decisive strick .or flashlights or the many other over power perks and ADD-ON like septic syringes, You survivors are so funny lol.please DON'T get me started 🤣
2 -
No it has nothing to do with not just "Liking "the perk . It you survivors get to carried aewy with it and it's creates trolling . Like you when you t-bag or even dh to pallets to camp them. So it's not just dead hard, its survivors.
0 -
About 90% of the flawed map design in maps benefits the survivors.
0 -
Yes they are , and then it can make the game even worse because of depending on. The number of pallets in the map , the add-on's survivors bring ,like flashlights or septic syringes. It can make the game very hard to win .
0 -
I agree , it really don't get the point of boons at all . They kind of just make the game more stressful.
0 -
Maybe, they said they were reworking 40 perks... technically doesn't mean 40 nerfs
0 -
Of course the flawed map design is the reason surivors bring Dead Hard. That also explains why they send themselves to their favorite map and STILL use it, doesn't it?
0 -
You're complaining rn...

I swear to God we get this thread every day

legacycolt on PlayStation. Look me up and check my trophies. I have every single PS4 DBD trophy, and I have every single killer adapt on PS5 DBD trophies (not all trophies yet).
0 -
Very true point, I get sent to like 4 maps a day and they are nothing but troll teams
0 -
That is NOT true , SURVIVORS have the best perks in the game.its killers that get the short end of the stick when it comes to perks .
1 -
You know what the sad part about Dead Hard is? You can't swing because survivors might have it but you cannot not swing because then they'll get closer to the next pallet or window and press E for distance. Very enjoyable and definitely something that survivors wouldn't hate, if it existed for killers. I saw someone make the argument "If Dead Hard is fine, then Coup de Grace should activate every 40 seconds as well." and honestly I find that hard to argue against.
3 -
That's a big one! Nobody touches Yoichi perks, but I've seen several killers using Floods of Rage and Call of Brine. Every DLC is all about killer with great perks.
2 -
Combine it with No Mither problem solved.
3 -
Would survivors really run anything else unless it's even stronger than what they already have? I'm gonna go with probably not. Creating even stronger survivor perks could go horrably wrong. We all saw what happened with Boil Over.
0 -
Would survivors actually run something new unless it's even stronger than what they already have? Many wouldn't. Creating even stronger perks for survivors might just break the game entirely. We all saw what happened with Boil Over. I don't want to relive that.
0 -
They've done that with killers. There's been massive power creep with new slowdown perks stacked. We see how broken Dead Man and Pain Resonance is, especially on Artist. It is only fair game for both sides to get good perks.
Boil Over was fine, except on the Police Station but they fixed the map and nerfed the perk regardless.
2 -
DMS was buffed because no one actually used it. Most of us probably forgot the perk even existet. The buff made that perk very strong and viable on some killers, that's true. On Artist for instance the combination of DMS and Pain Resonance is ridiciculously strong. Now everyone uses this combination and it's getting an overhaul, which is a good thing imo. The other new slow down perks aren't power creep but QOL because with Call of Brine kicking a gen is not a waste of time anymore, which is what players begged for for years, and Floods of Rage on a killer that isn't Nurse is a very good perk that makes killers more efficient in their pathing and patrolling of gens but it's not OP.
There were many more scenarios other than on RPD where Boil Over was unfair like on Ormond but that's beside the point.
1 -
So how do you outplay a dead hard for distance to a pallet or window which will extend a chase? You didnt earn that extra time, you hit a button. In fact you have to be injured for the perk to work which rewards you for playing badly.
Dead hard is a pathetic crutch perk and rewards bad gameplay. Also without dead hard you would have died which means you got outplayed but you got a free escape because you equipped the most powerful perk in the game.
6 -
Exactly
0 -
Boil Over and CoH beg to differ.
But we can't expect honest debate from you, sadly.
5 -
Did you specifically ignore the other 17 minutes of Dead Hard counterpoints?
0 -
And as KillaWhale asks later in the video:
Why should "waiting to swing" be part of a Killer's gameplay checklist? How is that even good game design?
1 -
Because survivors also have to mindgame when the killer chooses to hide his/her red stain. It is similar concept.
1 -
You’re waiting out sprint burst too so there’s that.
0 -
I don't use DH and actually sympathise when it comes to its (over)use, but I disagree with this. If you look at the chart of most used survivor perks, the only recent addition was Circle of Healing (2021) - and that has been nerfed twice already. All the rest were released 2017 and earlier. Looking at killer charts, you have many earlier perks too, but also perks from 2019, 2020, as well as of course Pain Resonance (2021).
I suspect when we get a 2022 update you'll see the recently buffed Dead Man's Switch and Call of Brine make an appearance. Us survivor mains get very little decent perks, and when we do they are nerfed. I can't imagine our 2022 stats will change much at all, especially with Haddie's lacklustre perks coming.
0 -
No, you don't wait out Sprint Burst. They taking off running right away, and you can choose to pursue with the extra distance or not. You are not try humping their leg like an excited terrier dog wondering if/when they are going to press E.
0 -
The two concepts have NOTHING to do with each other. At all.
The red stain is a permanent fixture on every killer that doesn't require you to "wait". It is just a queue for the killer's facing.
Dead Hard has nothing to do with mind games, and is nothing more than a cheat for Survivors to avoid going down when they should - which can be doubled down by the fact that its 24/7 availability makes it greedable.
Not the same. Not even close.
1 -
Lol agree to disagree.
There is nothing wrong with how DH was designed in terms of baiting it out. You refusing to do so, doesn't make it a bad design.
Would you rather need a perk to counter it? Because I doubt you would. You would still be complaining about it.
0 -
Please explain to me how a survivor dead hards is a killers "mistake" all you survivors do is blame everything one the killers there is 4 against one how do you want us to play the game then you don't want us to camp hooks, can't bring NOED so please evaluate more on how were are supposed to play and please give me ONE perk and a map that's counteracts dead hard because there isn't one
1 -
I understand how you see it that way , but you need understand this, it's 4 vs 1 not the other way around, if a killer has to deal with 4,Dead hards ,4 iron wills , 4 borrowed times , and made some decisive striks ,plus the addition of tool boxes , flashlight , and medkits . You really don't need that much more . We killers have maybe a few good perks and some good add-ons . Survivors have way more than killers.
